Totally agree with previous reviewer

PayPal’s practices are outright predatory and completely unacceptable.
The interest rates are abusive, and the way they manipulate payment allocation feels intentionally designed to squeeze every possible pound out of customers.
Even when you try to pay your balance, they divert payments in a way that maximizes your interest instead of reducing your debt. This is not an accident — it’s a strategy.

PayPal presents itself as a trustworthy global financial platform, but they in for too much profit.

I’m done with PayPal Credit, and I strongly warn others to stay away. Their system is built to make you lose money, not manage your finances.

I will be looking to close the account in 2 months

Watch our very closely your PP account, they make their "Activity" to not show balance on purpose to hide their behind scenes activity. I had $578, transferred $400 to bank account and suppose to have $178 left...but only shows $68.30. Got in the chat and they just brush it out saying that my balance was other previously. I asked why the Activity never shows balances they simple replied, because we are not a bank. Will stop using them and keep a real good eye on my account for now on with screen shots of Activity prior doing anything. Also there is a glitch right now, I paid a bill and it shows twice it Pending on my activity

Horrible experience with new PayPal+ debit and credit card facility

Horrible experience with the new PayPal+ debit card and credit card facility. After linking the payments securely to my debit card and bank account direct debit facilities, I have had several issues with the payment being declined, direct debits being said as completed but then later with a error message. On the fear of payments being declined and therefore impacting on my credit report, I made a lump sum payment to clear the PayPal credit balance only to find that the payment has been taken from my bank but app shows I still owe PayPal credit. Moreover in my bank I cannot see what the payment was for , only shows as a ‘PayPal CRE’and ‘PayPal ADD to bal’ .Its incredibly difficult and frustrating for what needs to be a seamless process.when I try to get in touch with customer service the AI interface was appalling and now in the process of escalating this with a human customer service agent. I’d rather use a straightforward credit card and ditch PayPal credit altogether after I’ve cleared all the payments without being double charged and would rather use my own debit card directly to see what I’m paying for and not fall into this trap of chasing points and customer service all day. This has impacted on my quality of life and feel so stressed about it for what seems to be a smooth experience. I would strongly recommend people not to fall into this trap of PayPal+ debit card and the credit card option . Awful

Bring Back Agents on CHAT

This new Customer Service AI thing is terrible, I used to be able to allocate my monthly payments to the special financing through an Agent using the CHAT option. Now I am unable to do this, and jumping on the phone on the weekday is not feasible for someone with a work day like mine. Going to zero out my balance and cancel Paypal. This is horrible and we are moving backwards with service.

PayPal’s practices are outright predatory and completely unacceptable.

Do not get the physical master card…

Do not get the physical master card they false advertise if you have purchase $149 or more it’s 6month interest free. It’s only interest free if you check out through PayPal online not using the physical card. They way it’s advertised it makes it seem u can use physical card and have the 6 month interest free but u can not. Please see attached photos . I discovered this after receiving my statement

Would score 0 or minus if I could PayPal don't deserve any stars!! I'd been using the standard Pay in 3 for years with no problems it's PayPal credit that causes the problems!! When you have a 0% interest over 4 months plan and it comes to an end you pay it on the day it's due to end and it goes to a different balance in PayPal credit, for god's sake don't have more than one balance in PayPal Credit or you will have an absolute nightmare with paying it back!! Customer Services? Absolute joke!!!!
I've been told 3 different timescales to pay back my pay in 4 months 0% interest plan to apparently void interest - the day it's due to end, the working day after it ends and anytime in the month leading up to it ending but when I tried the last option ( in the month leading up) I was told this was wrong!! Customer services do not know what they are talking about, you get the usual policy copy and paste saying about payment allocation and how they allocate payments that way to HELP CUSTOMERS!!!! Are they having a laugh?!!! DONT USE PAYPAL CREDIT PEOPLE AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE UNLESS YOU LOVE NON EXISTED, MISLEADING CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE MOST CONFUSING, COMPLEX AND FLAWED PAYMENT SYSTEM EVER!!!
I have put in a formal complaint but I don't expect a lot from it probably another robotic answer!!!

Poorly managed

Paypal credit customer service that deal with arrears are very unprofessional and at times speak over you without having listened to the full story. Seems like they want to prove you wrong and they are right regardless. Not a good overall experience. Used them the first time and probably for the last time ever. Certainly won't be recommending them to anyone.

This is not consumer protection. This is not fairness. The so-called PayPal Money Back Guarantee has become nothing more than a deceptive promise—an assurance that fails precisely when it is most needed. Rather than safeguarding buyers from dishonest and misleading sellers, PayPal continues to shield those sellers even when the evidence of wrongdoing is clear. As a result, the buyer is forced to absorb the cost, stress, and frustration, while PayPal hides behind policy language crafted to avoid responsibility. What is advertised as security is, in reality, a process that wastes the time, money, and trust of honest people who once believed in the platform.

Paypal Snuck into My Airbnb Account and Is Holding My Refund Indefinately

Paypal, without my permission, planted themselves as a form of payment in my Airbnb account. Additionally, they made themselves my primary method. I had no idea they did that. I have a credit card that I use for travel that was already in my account. When I went to place a deposit on a listing, Paypal swooped in and grabbed the money from my checking account. That was NOT what I wanted. Once I learned of this, I removed them from my Airbnb account and cancelled the reservation for a full refund which both Airbnb and Paypal promised me. It is now 4 days later and while Paypal yanked thousands from my checking account in minutes, it can't get my money back to my checking account. My questions are: 1) Who allowed them into my Airbnb account without my permission? 2) Who is playing with MY money right now? 3) Why is this business practice OK?

PayPal credit - terrible application and overpayment experience

Used PayPal credit for a 0% offer. Application process was clunky as kept trying to default to longer term with interest.
Making additional payments beyond the Direct Debit is also a terrible experience - whatever payment systems they use are archaic.. payments made take days sometimes weeks to be claimed, despite showing as “complete” in the app and reducing the balance outstanding. This creates a totally confused position as to your current credit position. I’ll be clearing the balance and not using again.

Awful

I received a PayPal credit card that I did not request. I never activated the card. I have had a PayPal account linked to my bank for 20 plus years. Somehow PayPal credit withdrew money from my daughter’s account. She is a student and has never had a PayPal account.
Hours on the phone e correcting this with no explanation on how an inactive card had my daughters checking account info. My bank became involved- trying to figure this out.
I requested a complete cancellation of PayPal credit card. Now they have added back a balance to the PayPal credit card plus fees. The amount makes no sense. PayPal credit card charged me fees that are unexplained- on a card I never requested or activated-that was tied to a minors account. I want to be refunded the fees and a breakdown of why I now have a balance on this card.

Took out paypal credit for a shed in June from B&M,They started to take payments in August. First payment they took charged me £12.00 more than my Direct debit amount said I was late paying.They agreed to refund the £12.
Next payment was fine correct amount went out,3rd payment charged another £12 for late payment.These are Direct debits so should go out on correct dates.Been on the phone umpteen times to no avail the staff don't seem to know what they are doing,keep putting me on hold to speak to a supervisor then tell me it's been sorted,then I check my statement and hey how nothing been done.I would like to warn anyone to stay clear of PayPal Credit.Could be affecting my credit standing with so called late payments.Stay clear.

Terrible company with no feeling or heart.
Am a 70 yr old sei retired joiner/ builder, need my credit rating high to borrow to do wee projects, found out my credit score was halved? So I checked all and found that in June I booked a 2-night stay in a hotel. Put it through PAYPAL for safety, I thought du!, got 3 cards on there with a lot of money, but it clicked me out on PayPal-credit?. never knew as lots of goings on with my wee bits of work. 4 months later credit score dropped from 700 Good to 500 bad. now my bank will not help me and got nocked back from a loan company I used to be on good lending terms with all my accounts. I never notified PayPal of my new address, and they somehow had an old email too. So I got no notice, as silly me thought the electrol roll fed these guys my new address, nope, so I asked why they never texted me or phoned, don,t know was the reply.?

Ok I admit I should have done things, but i always try my best to keep on top of everything, if i had a direct debit paying them £5 a month, then ok, £5 ? for all this nightmare, total sum £191.20 with fines,6
years on the register, feel like a criminal, help whatsoever. no mercy, jobslot can't see all my other 45 payments were good, so beware, i never asked for this credit and my business is at an end as I have been working so hard to have a good name in credit terms. Shame on you. Please be aware, press the wrong button and you're finished, but I say I never got 3 cards there with over 30k in the bank no needing their credit. BE WARNED, THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND.

PayPal credit is messed up

PayPal credit is a confusing facility possibly meant to be intentionally misleading in the way credit service is managed. They will mess up your finances and will cause you to end up in bad position of indebtedness. They either have no understanding of customer credit or intentionally give misleading terms that will lead you into overdrafts and poor credit scores. AVOID PAYPAL CREDIT BY ANY MEANS.

I had my Revolut card linked that I have been using with no problems up until August 2025. PayPal screwed up something on their system and changed the currency to USD without letting me know. When I paid in October, suddenly they charged the payment in USD with a horrendous 5% charges. Disgraceful!
I complained and the customer service rep said, there is nothing they can do and no refund can be given.
I delinked all my payments and closed the account. No apology, no proper explanation why they changed the currency without my authorisation. Terrible service, never go back.

I've been a PayPal cash back credit…

I've been a PayPal cash back credit card holder with a credit limit of 9000 for almost 10 years. I have always made on time payments at least the minimum. My current balance is just under 4000 and its been that way for a few months because I lost hours at my job and had to have surgery as well. Last night I received a letter from PayPal saying they lowered my limit to 3900 basically what I owe on it and today I see that it lowered my credit score by 30 points! Just when im planning on refinancing my van to help with my financial struggle they lower my credit score too! I haven't made late payment in 10 years and they do this to a long time customer out of nowhere. I highly do not recommend this card. Used to be my favorite.
