A truly excellent and trustworthy tour guide can completely transform a journey. On this Spain and Portugal tour, we were extremely fortunate to have Jeffrey as our guide. He was consistently attentive, professional, and responsible throughout the entire trip — truly deserving of five stars, plus one more!

Due to a mechanical issue with United Airlines, some members of our group experienced flight delays that nearly disrupted our itinerary. Throughout this situation, Jeffrey remained calm and composed, actively coordinating with all parties, continuously arranging solutions, and doing his utmost to take care of every traveler. His ability to stay calm under pressure and take full responsibility was deeply reassuring and truly moving.

Upon arrival in Madrid, he immediately led us on a wonderful city tour. From Plaza de Colón and the Royal Palace, to optional excursions to Segovia, the ancient Roman aqueduct, and the famous roast suckling pig meal, every stop was well organized and thoughtfully arranged. His explanations were clear and engaging, greatly enriching our understanding of Spanish history and culture.

We then traveled from Spain into Portugal, arriving at the Catholic pilgrimage site of Fátima. The evening Mass in the square was solemn and unforgettable. In Lisbon, we visited the Belém Tower, Jerónimos Monastery, Sintra Palace, and Cabo da Roca — the westernmost point of mainland Europe. The breathtaking scenery, known as “where the land ends and the sea begins,” left a lasting impression. Of course, the famous Portuguese egg tarts were also a highlight.

Back in Spain, we explored Seville, including the Seville Cathedral, Plaza de España, and the Giralda Tower. Jeffrey’s extensive knowledge of Spanish history, religion, and architecture made each visit both educational and enjoyable.

Later highlights included the magnificent Alhambra in Granada, the beautiful white beaches of Alicante, and the modern City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia — all unforgettable experiences.

The final stop in Barcelona was undoubtedly the highlight of the entire journey. With Jeffrey’s detailed explanations, Gaudí’s architectural masterpieces became even more meaningful and awe-inspiring. We would also like to sincerely thank Peony Tours. Upon learning that the Sagrada Família was officially completed in 2026, the company mobilized staff from multiple global offices to secure tickets for us, allowing us to witness this architectural wonder in person — an incredibly thoughtful gesture we deeply appreciate.

This journey was not only a visual feast, but also a profound cultural and emotional experience. We sincerely thank Jeffrey for his patience, care, and professionalism throughout the trip, as well as all fellow travelers for their companionship.

We, Me and Paul, would like to award Jeffrey a “sixth star,” representing his professionalism, responsibility, and the sense of security and warmth he brought to our journey. If we have the opportunity to travel with Peony Tours again, Jeffrey will undoubtedly be our top choice as a tour guide.

We traveled to Switzerland last May, amidst the picturesque scenery of Switzerland, we enjoyed a delightful trip with like-minded fellow travelers. This friendship led us travel together as a group again this Spring. We even made a special request to have the same tour guide Jeffery on a trip to guide us in Spain and Portugal.

Jeffery is a trustworthy tour guide and he takes care of everyone during the trips. I personally witnessed how calm he was to deal with the situation of nearly 1/2 of the group members who had a cancelled flight due to mechanical issues with UA from Newark to Madrid on the first day. He really tried hard to find all the possible options to his best to accommodate those members unable to join first day tour. That kind of professionalism, calmness under pressure, and dedication to finding solutions during travel disruptions is truly invaluable !

Despite the incident, all the tour group members managed to make it together on the second day and turning a stressful situation into another memorable, bonded trip in Spain and Portugal. Hooray!

Our tour guide was Davis Nie. He had done a great job. He responded to our requests not only in timely fashion but also to our satisfaction. For example, he arranged fish meal for us as soon as possible per our wish. Many thanks to Davis for reminding us about taking our passports out of the hotel safe before departure back home to ensure smooth journey. Also. He is a very talented singer. He sang a self written song which cracked us up. We had a wonderful experience with our 12 days Turkish tour .

As for tours, we started with Peony’s China tours probably some 20+ years ago. Last year, we had a wonderful private tour to China with Ritz Tours, a sister company of Peony Tours. This past April tour was to Turkey, and our first tour with Peony Tours to Europe.

Our tour departure flight was canceled by Turkish Airlines just about 10 days before the tour. Peony staff quickly resolved the challenge for us working with our flexibility. We spent two extra nights in Istanbul so we got to enjoy talking to more local people and experience and visit places not covered by the tour itself. So we turned the disadvantage / inconvenience into a good time!

But, our knowledge about Turkey probably would be still naive if not for Sinan’s, the local tour guide, and Davis’s, Peony tour leader, introduction about Turkish history, people, religion, culture, and, of course, Turkish Delight :-) Thank you Sinan and Davis.

Overall, before this trip, we had some high expectation—based on our previous 10 wonderful European trips with another tour company. Now, after the trip, we feel much comfortable to go back to Europe with Peony Tours in the future.

Tour guides are very professional and friendly. The hotels are all five stars and services are all very good.

It was a great tour! The itinerary was well planned. Tour guides are nice. Especially our peony tour guide Davis is a super patient and detailed person. He had taken care of every client in the group. He had not only explained the history and story well, but also made them fun. Hotels we stayed are nice. The only thing I would like to suggest is to have the dinners upgraded. Since the breakfast is good at the hotels, a simple lunch is fine. However the dinners are asIo quite simple. I understand there is budget limitations, but I don’t mind to pay more to get better dinners.

This a my second time joining with Peony tours,This trip to Turkey was unforgettable. Our local guide, Sinan, and tour leader, Davis, were both extremely professional. They worked together seamlessly, organized everything perfectly, provided clear and easy-to-understand explanations, and took meticulous care of each tourist. I was very satisfied and sincerely thank both guides. I hope to have the opportunity to travel to other places with Davis in the future.

Grand Tour of Turkey is our second trip with Peony Tour. It is amazing good. We enjoyed the trip very much.

1. The route and transportation arrangements are excellent. Peony booked the flight tickets for us. Unlike other tour groups flying in and out of Turkey through Istanbul and extensively long bus ride around the country, our trip started at Ankara and ended at Istanbul with flights between Istanbul and Ankara and between Izmir and Istanbul and with bus ride between Ankara and Izmir. The bus rides were shorter than other tour companies could offer. The longest bus ride for our trip was only 4 hours. The two flights cut down the bus ride tremendously and gave us one extra time for sightseeing along the way and extra day at Istanbul. It is really enjoyable.

2. The accommodation is excellent. We stayed at 5-star hotel at the most stops. We even stayed at the 5-star cave hotel at Cappadocia and thermal spa resort at Kusadasi. The tour covered all our meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. It gave less headaches to find meals.

3. The tour guides are wonderful . Both tour guides, Davis, from the Peony Tour, and Sinan, from the local travel agent Dorat were experienced, knowledgeable and worked seamlessly well together; cutting down the time waiting in line for entering tourist hot spot, giving us sufficient information for the places we visited, and keeping us safe during the trip. They were cheerful, helpful and we enjoyed our time together.

In summary, we have taken tours with several other tour companies before, this is the one of the best. We look forward to our next trip with Peony Tour.

Had a 12-days trip to Spain & Portugal recently. The tour itineraries were well planned and not too tight. Our tour guide Jeffrey is very professional, knowledgeable and took care everyone in the group well. I had a wonderful trip and looking forward to the next one with Peony Tours.

Chen Wei is our tour manager for the Best of Eastern Europe tour, April 23~ May 4. He was professional, patient, and organized, and made the entire trip smooth and enjoyable. He is very knowledgeable and has excellent communication skills. He provided wonderful historical backgrounds of the countries/cities/sites that we visited. He went above and beyond to make the journey educational and meaningful.
The tour was well organized and highly recommended, although the schedules were tight, as there were quite a lot of places and distances to cover.

This is my second time to meet tour guide Jeffrey. His professional and dedicated touring leads me a comfortable and happy journey. He is very organized, patient and friendly to take care of all of tourists all the time. He is an excellent one.

We family of 4 went on to the Apr 10 – 23, 2026 Amazing Yunnan-Guizhou Tour organized by Peony Tours. The tour had 27 members. Overall, we found the trip very joyful. The hotels were clean and comfortable. Their breakfasts were excellent. The tour included all the meals and they were good because Henry the tour guide arranged to avoid too spicy dishes. Two excellent moves I would like to point out. When visiting some challenging scenic areas, Henry arranged paid-escalator and cableway for us to make the trip much more comfortable (we didn’t pay). He also prepared abundant oxygen equipment for us when we were at high-altitude areas (we didn’t pay neither). When a senior group member was in a critical medical condition, Henry accompanied her to the hospital till 3 o-clock in the morning, meanwhile he mobilized local tour guides to escort the rest of us to continue our journey. Thank you for the extra miles, Henry (Hai Huang)! Professional and dedicated.

My husband and I took the 19days Yangtze River & Chengdu & Jiuzhaigou tour in April 2026.It went on flawlessly because our group, mostly seniors, got along well and everyone tried to stick to the schedule provided by our tour guide Steven Hu. Steven was very attentive, well organized and very experienced. He made us feel relaxed and pampered. The food was plentiful! The 5 star hotels and the river cruise were so comfortable and luxurious. The itinerary of our trip was full but not rushed. Overall Peony Tours exceeded our expectations.

This is our first time with Peony Tours - the Yangtze & Chengdu & Jiuzhaigou in April 2026 . We had a very joyful memorable experience. The tour itinerary is great, organized and well planned.
Our lead guide Steven Hu (胡希夷）is the best tour guide, he is very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and considerate. He took good care of everyone, especially when we were at Huanglong, Jiuzhaigou, a couple of members were not feeling well due to altitude sickness, he helped them all the way until they were safely back to normal. He also proactively took good pictures for us. Our Huangshan local guide 小汪 and Chongqing Chengdu local guide 小萬 are also very nice.
We will definitely recommend Peony Tour to our friends.

We took a 12-day tour of Spain and Portugal from 4/9 to 4/20/2026 with Peony Tour. It turned out to be one of the best experiences we ever had. The route they planned was great and the pace was perfect for us and the tour guide Jeffrey was phenomenal. Jeffrey is very knowledgeable about every stops we made. He is like a living history book. Best of all, he cares about us throughout this tour and took good care of everyone. He really planned our days perfectly, such as, when we should depart in the morning, where to make the pit stop, best place to buy souvenirs, etc. We could not be happier having him to be our next tour guide and the one after.

My wif and I were first timeer with with Peony Tours and didn't know what to expect. But from the moment we got picked up at Midrid airport by our tour guid Jeffrey and local tour guide Maria, we felt relax and comfortable. Jeffrey treated us like the family members, all of us were taken good care of all people onboard during the whole 12 days tour. Wonderful tour guides, both US and Local Turkey guides, during our recent Tour of Turkey. They take care of tour member at each site. We had a member somehow misoriented in one of the site. The two guides ran back to search. Eventually they found him. We could feel how patient they were with seniors. We all share the gratitudes for their kind services!
