Paid for a Plugin I Can’t Even Access (Google Login Broken)
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was genuinely frustrating from start to finish.
I purchased a Pixel Film Studios stabilizer plugin and signed up using my Google account, which I use across multiple plugin services without any issues. However, immediately after purchase, I couldn’t even log in to use the product I paid for. The system kept throwing “invalid request” errors from Google, effectively locking me out of my account.
What makes this worse is that this is a basic functionality like logging in and it completely failed. I wasn’t even able to reach the point of actually using the plugin. For a paid product, this is unacceptable.
I don’t have time to wait weeks for support to respond just to fix a login issue that should never have happened in the first place. Because of this, I requested a refund.
If you can’t provide a reliable and functional login system, you shouldn’t be selling products. This was a very disappointing experience.

Stunning professional extensions
There's a huge variety of stunning, professionally design extensions for FCP that are very flexible and easy to use. As a relative newcomer to FCP, I was able to quickly take advantage of these features and customize them for my project without any hassle. I love the dedicated installer which makes downloading and installing everything a snap. Great value for the money--Highly recommended.

A great source of professional plugins, which for Final Cut can be a somewhat limited choice. Very good email support, Ive had a few issues over the years with their plugins, but typically easy enough to resolve after a few email exchanges. Can get quite expensive though, and sometimes hit and miss with choosing the right plugin for your project - some are a bit dated. Autracker 3D is excellent, but addons such as the titles are a bit overpriced. All in all, happy to keep sending them my money.

Misleading Ad for Plugin
I purchased a plug in after viewing the companies own video trailer advertisement on the website, only to find there was no video support or any form of instruction on how to use it after I had made the purchase. In the video advertistment, they claimed the plugin was a simple drag and drop method, which showed this with visuals, but it is certainly not that at all and very misleading advertising. Support confirmed there is a certain amount of editing and alignment needed before you can drag and drop for the plugin to work. I have never used this type of plugin so it was very new to me and instructions were paramount. Support also confirmed there is no instruction video or any instructions at all, they wrote a brief explanation in how to use the plugin in their email to me, but it was not good enough, I replied complaining I was unhappy and they stopped replying. I will contact them again to escalate the complaint, again highlighting the misleading advertising and also the poor support. There are many other companies out there that I am sure will appreciate the business. Support and customer service is key to any business, as well as honesty and integrity. I have used Pixels quite a few times in the past, and other companies as well.

To clarify the support timeline: We responded to your initial inquiry on February 3 with a detailed step-by-step explanation of how the preset application works (including beat marking with the M key, sizing to markers, and an attached reference image), and followed up on February 4 offering a one-on-one Zoom session during business hours or a refund per our policy (with the required confirmation within 7 days).
We did not stop replying—our last message remained open for your response on either option. If you'd still like assistance (via Zoom or otherwise) or to proceed with a refund, please reply to your original support ticket and our team and we'll handle it right away.
We value honesty in our advertising and support, and we aim to make the process as straightforward as possible—though we understand this particular plugin requires initial beat marking for best results, which wasn't as immediately drag-and-drop as hoped. Your past positive experiences with us mean a lot, and we'd like the chance to make this right.

I have been using pixelfilmstudio for several years and am very satisfied overall. Some applications seem a little complicated to use, but overall I am very happy with the products. After updating my operating system, none of the plugins would work anymore. It was scary. Customer service responded by email within a few hours and helped me with clear and targeted instructions to get the problem under control. The solution ultimately took 10 minutes and everything is working again. Communication by email works exceptionally well, the employee on the other end was very friendly, and the problem was solved much faster than with many other service providers. Exemplary. Broad Library and Efficient Support
I've been a client for over 8 years and this company has supported me as my business ebbs and flows from weddings (at first), to business projects, and now podcasting. Not only they have what seems to be an infinite library of options, but their customer service is top notch. Recently I had an issue logging in and someone from their team pulled a magic trick and assisted me. I've graduated from Mac to Mac and whenever there was an issue with my plugins, the PFS crew was always there to fix my issues in a super timely fashion, thus allowing me to get back to creating great videos for myself. As an independent artist, it's important to have everything in working order and for it to be GREAT, and PFS provides just that, greatness that WORKS for what I need, when I need it!!

Eats Ram
The plug ins the site has seemed great at first until you realize it eats up a minimum of 45 gb of ram at any given time, and often leaks so that even after Final Cut is closed, it keeps using that much ram. They have some decent plug ins but unless you have 128gb plus on your Mac and don’t mind constantly quitting it after every session, just find another plug in service that isn’t subscription based with their complicated secondary app

We're sorry to hear about the high RAM usage and any perceived memory leaks you're seeing with our plugins in Final Cut Pro. Our effects (especially complex ones with heavy processing like particles, lighting, or overlays) can be resource-intensive, and we've seen similar reports tied to specific setups, large projects, or older versions. That said, 45GB+ sustained usage and post-quit leaks aren't typical or expected behavior on our end—we recommend at least 16-32GB RAM for smooth performance (more for 4K+ or multi-effect stacks), and we have optimization tips on our site (like closing unused apps, using optimized media, or checking for updates via our installer).
The secondary app (our manager/installer) is there to simplify updates and licensing, but we understand if it feels complicated—we're always refining that. We're not strictly subscription-only; many products are one-time purchases too.

BLOWN AWAY
I am seriously BLOWN AWAY by the support I've received from Pixel Support!!!
But first, I have to say, I already deeply appreciated the company for its
seriously fabulous plug-ins and effects!
But this last video I created was giving me *gnarly* problems in the
attempt to export! (Note the word *attempt!*)
I spent HOURS on the phone with Apple Support...four long long calls, with
three different techs there. We tried what I thought must've been
*everything!*
Turns out - not so much.
After a long communication back-and-forth with Pixel Tech Support, by
email, with lots of suggestions, I'd given up. Seriously. I started to
re-create the video without the groovy effects. But then I got one last
email suggesting we get on the phone together so they could walk me through
every little thing they could possibly think of.
And, voila! A solution! And now, this evening, after doing the steps to
alter the whole thing in the manner I was shown, I have my video! The
original one I was so *thrilled* to have created!

It's a scam. Bought a plugin. Paid my money. You cant download the plugin from te website though! You have to download an app, which guess what doesnt work. Support? Thats a chat bot that thinks the latest Mac OS is 11. Try emailing the company. NO REPLY. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Fast, accurate tech support
I had recently upgraded my Mac OS and Final Cut Pro and experienced the “Red Screen” issue where a PixelFilmStudios plugin wasn’t liking something about the change. Contacted PFS support who sent me an answer within a minute. I followed the clear instructions and was back up and running in less than 5 minutes. I had anticipated a much harder, time-consuming process but this was fast —and it worked.

I had problem with one of their plugins… but they stopped answering...
I had problem with one of their plugins (Lut loader). At first they were helpful trying to resolve the issue, but after few suggestions they literally stopped answering. The communication between us in the open case stayed one way. I emailed them to see if they figured something out, because they promised to check with the developers for solution. It's already 3 months without answer and a few one way emails from me to the support.
