This course has shown me so much about myself, about confidence, success, calm and focus that I have not found anywhere else. It brings the subject matter together so clearly, for me this was a revelation - it is absolutely practical and applicable. I will have a lifetime's use out of the first module alone, let alone all the others. Mark is genuine and really endearing. I can recommend it to anyone who wants to approach any kind of performance, from music to simply going out.

I did the bootcamp. Excellent thing! The course is very well structured and sticking with it is fun and challenge. Of course everybody is different, so you'll find some things very obvious and others totally new or anyways more interesting. But surprisingly some things that I thought I already knew well enough revealed to have more dimensions or depth to them than I thought, or to be more helpful if you actually start doing them than if you only know they're there. I'd recommend it to any musician, pro or not, who feels he or she is not playing at their full potential.

As a recent subscriber to Play in the Zone I have been impressed by the transposition of sports psychology to the making of (better) music. The ideas are well explained and presented, inviting the subscriber to engage and try different approaches out. I particularly like the notion of music making as a process rather than an outcome. It's helpful stuff in supporting musicians to get the best out of themselves.

Excellent course content, very well thought out and put over. Prompt support if needed, BUT be aware that you need to devote a lot of commitment and time over the boot camp period - I didn’t realise just how much, and have quickly fallen behind, though it’s OK to take a bit longer.

Lots of material here! It's like anything else you can grow from; it takes commitment! Well done.

Truly useful courses and great service

I am still in the middle of the course and will even do the bootcamp option at the end of December. But I really can say the entire course is worth the money ! It is definitely a "eye-opener". The questions and topics being covered have been a struggle for me since I am playing music, which is for decades now.
Right at the beginning (I have found the course via a YouTube suggestion) I was very sceptical and thought to myself "This sounds too good, where is the snag ?" But then I saw a interview from Mark with the Musical-U and afterwards I was completely convinced of him and booked the course.
I am still not sure, where exactly the course will lead me, but it drives me definitely heavily forward.

If you want to improve your performance in music Play In The Zone is an excellent tool. It helps the musicien to understand the essential difference between practice and performance. The suggestions and methods on on how to prepare for performances are both relevant and inspiring. I really unlocks your performance.

This course is excellent. It is an exploration of how to navigate the inner state when performing and practising music. It's richly packed with helpful information but most importantly there are many practical suggestions and exercises which Mark guides you through to enable change.

This is a well-organized program that clearly results from a lot of work by Mark. I am grateful for it and have learned a lot. Unit 5 has been the most useful unit for me, because it legitimizes that mistakes are to be expected, then gives ways to deal with them creatively.

This course answers the performance questions that have baffled me for 30 years as it takes you step by step through teaching you how to prepare yourself mentally to perform. Just an excellent course which already has paid off for me.

Mark Morley-Fletcher created an excellent course on mental techniques for practicing and performing music. It's open to any kind of musician, from any genre or level.
One could use it as a fountain of material that transfers insights from neuro-sciences and sport-sciences into the field of music. But most significant is that Mark takes care of each of his students and provides a programme that allows to end up with procedural knowledge (which is very different from only declarative knowledge).
I recommend this kind of content to every musician who wants to work at his full potential and feel free during performance - while being realistic and relaxed about the outcome.
It should be part of music teaching in general (instrumental/vocal).
