Bowstoke Road Post Office
Bowstoke Road Post Office
Appalling and aggressive service. I came in simply to drop off a prepaid eBay package. The older woman serving me—who claimed to be the manager—became intensely hostile over a mix-up regarding the label. She threw an erratic tantrum that I could barely understand, shouted at me, and threatened to call the police for no reason when I asked what the issue was. Having previously had an expensive laptop go missing directly through this shop, experiencing this level of volatile behaviour from staff is deeply alarming. Avoid this branch if you value your safety and your mail. I have video evidence of part of this conversation as well. Reported to Post Office corporate.
You used to have post offices with…
You used to have post offices with proper staff who usually worked for the post office and knew what they were doing.
Now it's like a comedy sketch trying to get even the most basic service.
Waiting in all day for parcel delivery…
Waiting in all day for parcel delivery with tracker the estimated time changed 4 times right up to 9.30pm low and behold at 9pm it says unable to deliver no one at home absolute lie disgusting service i would have to wait 45mins for customer service on the phone they won't you to hang up wouldn't give any stars I am going to let the company kniw who sent the parcel what total are doing
Dont get your travel money from the post office
Not happy at all
This used to be a good post office but…
This used to be a good post office but lately it seems like they can’t be bothered. Like it’s an effort to serve you. Staff are always miserable.
Extremely disappointing service
Extremely disappointing service. Twice now, my packages have not been delivered properly, and I was given no clear delivery time or reasonable opportunity to receive them.
Trying to contact the post office is also incredibly frustrating — it feels almost impossible to get hold of anyone or get a clear explanation about what happened to the packages.
Having this happen once is bad enough, but twice is unacceptable. Packages are people’s property, and they should be handled responsibly and delivered properly. I’m extremely disappointed and frustrated with this service.
I've lived at my address for 19 years…
I've lived at my address for 19 years and ALL the postmen and ladies have been fantastic until now the new postman is so rude the first time he delivered a parcel to me I tried to be polite to him he totally blanked me he was more worried about his phone he held on to the package didn't look at me or say a word he done the same thing 2nd time around I've more packages coming I'm not looking forward to seeing that rude man again, I'm a 69yr OAP and he is not young normally i wouldn't bother with a person like that but he is so rude and disrespectful
Avoid to use Post Office in Newhall, Swadlincote
I wanted to send an international parcel, and I was served by a man who offered only the most expensive option without any alternatives, adding, 'Go elsewhere if you are not satisfied with something.' From this, I conclude that careless and unacceptably rude behavior towards clients is the standard at this post office. Even after the complaint about the female employee (before this it happened three times of trying to send first class signed letter, only the most expensive version was offered with the same rude attitude), nothing has changed, as another male employee behaves in the exact same way. Talk about customer service culture and quality standards in Post Office is just empty chatter!
Never use for tracked. Useless company needs closing down
9They should have minus 10 scores.
Do not use signed for or tracked. I paid for this first class with a 'we aim to deliver next day' ..
It took supposedly 15 days . Then told it was refused but the government office who specifically requests tracked says they NEVER refuse. This is now lost despite the importance of the document but they are claiming they need to wait to compensate customers. It takes one hour or more for the post office to answer phones ...when they do they cannot give any explanations proof or anuthing or do anything...so why even employ this 'service'?. This is a failed business, totally useless and should be closed down . Lack of transparency needs investigation by trading standards. I will never use them again
Useless. No one is responsible for anything here. Time to get real or go out of business.
Hung up on me
Took an hour to get through - the person had a bad connection and could barely speak English then hung up on me - totally useless service.
Euros stuck in the safe and no staff can get in!
Having ordered (and paid for) a quantity of Euros on a Wednesday and received written confirmation that they would be available in the Macclesfield branch from 11 am on the Friday, arrived mid-afternoon with appropriate identification to collect them.
After queueing for the customary quarter of an hour – the Foreign Currency desk was shut - showed my order to the customer service assistant at the counter who, took one look, and told me rather brusquely that I would “have to come back tomorrow”. After informing him that that was not possible he “hummed and hahed” then disappeared, without explanation, into the enclosed back office for approximately 10 minutes. Upon returning, he explained that the currency stocks were locked in a safe to which none of the staff on duty had the relevant code! At around 3 pm on a summer Friday afternoon!
I enquired as to what the Post Office “Plan B” was in this situation e.g. a reciprocal arrangement with the banks or building societies offering the same service in Macclesfield perhaps and was informed that none existed! He was clearly not wanting to take responsibility for this challenging situation, so I asked to speak to his manager. Received the information that the manager was called “Mandy” - he claimed, I felt rather disingenuously not to know her second name, - but that she was not expected in the branch that afternoon. A case of POETS day perhaps? This request again necessitated the clerk to retire back to the inner sanctum for a further 10 minutes.
Being in my late 70s and obviously walking with the assistance of a stick (as well as having had spinal surgery last December) had by this point been obliged to stand for 40 minutes and was beginning to really struggle. Fortunately, other members of the ever lengthening queue noticed my predicament and kindly suggested that I make use of one of the chairs on the other side of the shop. With some effort I managed to carry/drag the chair to the counter.
The clerk emerged to say that he was attempting to obtain the necessary code over the telephone which understandably necessitated another trip “out back”. Finally, without any apparent outside involvement or intervention, and after waiting for over an hour, the counter clerk finally, rather sheepishly, emerged with sufficient currency to meet my order. As if to add insult to injury the whole, quite significant, order was discharged using €20 notes - as mentioned at the time, this was the equivalent of paying for a pint of beer using tuppences. The perfunctory apology offered for my inconvenience gave the impression as to being one that had been trotted out on many previous occasions.
Patently, there are serious internal control failings apparent within the Post Office for obviously my pre-ordered currency had not been “made up” ready for collection whilst denying staff members access to the safe in a branch bestrewn with innumerable advertisements as to the merits of their foreign currency services is completely absurd.
In both my personal and professional life as a qualified accountant for over half a century I have had a great many occasions on which foreign currency needed to be bought or sold but can honestly state that this hour or so spent at the Post Office was by far and away the worst transaction ever experienced. Having outlets within Macclesfield such as Tesco’s or Sainsbury’s possessing a dedicated foreign currency booth “manned” for the working day I really cannot see why anyone in their right mind would choose to order foreign currency from the Post Office - I certainly never will again!

Like everything else in this country
Like everything else in this country. Antiquated, backwards and in need of modernisation.
VERY POOR - STRONGLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING
- Attempts to log in to account repeatedly failed. All details correct my end.
- Unacceptably long wait for help line to respond.
- Advised that the website could not cope with the number of customers signing up for the Saver's Account.
- Very helpful and polite 'agent' told me that a new ID was needed and would be with me by post within 5 days!!
- Account closed. PO service simply not fit for purpose.
Advoid at all cost

Very unprofessional
Very unprofessional and arrogant , Can’t bank my money here, bunch of clowns work at this post office
Post office very badly run long queues
In Crouch End the queues is regularly to the door taking 30 mins there are usually not enough staff ONE, no method of triage ie someone getting a stamp waits the same as whatever those people who take in excess of 5 mins are doing; the parcels are piled up so staff are often looking for parcels for people no system. People regularly walk out and some cannot stand for that long. And meantime the UOE EMPLOYEE where the shop is is doing nothing! It’s a mess - no idea how to run a business ludicrous every time - this is the fourth time I have been and it’s the same every time - Crouch End PO

Why can't open up a 27 poste shop and have this WH smiths posted offer close
The petrol garage dose a better job 🤣
Just so anyone reading this knows
Just so anyone reading this knows, I do not blame the ‘ on the ground’ staff. They are only capable of doing what they are capable of. The management, and their shareholders are completely incompetent. Driven by failure financial returns, rather than providing the service that was always provided by the publicly owned previous management.
Now, however, parcels are expected not to be delivered as expected. Often with an ‘ unable to deliver’ text.
It is , without doubt, a clear indication of how public ownership is far superior than an ‘unservice’ provided by low life investors in shareholders profits rather than the great British public. The one ⭐️ is given to show support for the enduring staff.
Terrinble post office
Terrinble post office. Staff rude and my evri parcel now lost!! They make you search for your own parcel 🤣
