I used to tell other people to switch to Power Wizard, my experience was so positive. But something seems to have changed, because they downgraded my service level from Gold to Silver without informing me, all due to a supposed billing issue they cannot explain. A new credit card number was provided, yet it did not matter, in terms of resolving an issue which, again, they cannot fully explain. Which means in essence, that they no longer provided the service they once did. Being moved from Gold to Silver is the difference between them doing the job they charge for, and the customer being expected to do so, to the degree it is hard to explain what their Silver level offers. As a result, my bill doubled, while I was under the impression they were still performing the service. And all of this was explained as being due to the fact I have a Mac email account.
First They Tell You Your Credit Is Frozen.
First they tell your credit is frozen. Mine wasn't. They tell you they cannot go forward until you authorize them to add deposits. They are a scam.
BEWARE OF CANCELATION FEES
Signed up with Power Wizard with the understanding that the end result should be to SAVE ME MONEY. After doing so they promptly moved me to a different company not bothering to include any potential end-of-contract fees in their calculations. Now I am stuck with a $500+ cancelation fee from my original provider.
Go to Power to Choose - don't waste your time...
Bought the Silver Tier package just to see how they compared to Power to Choose. Wasted my time. They showed OLD plans that were not available any longer...and I just ended up using Power to Choose in the end.

UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE…
PowerWizard made an UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE to my bank when I refused to give them my new credit card information to renew subscription. I did not want to renew and told them that.
Communication
Communicated with choices to bring us the cheapest electricity rates when you could have just ignored this account because we were in a 3 year contract.

Great customer service
I am happy with the customer service and it is a comfort knowing they are watching the rates so I don't have to.

The Erik charges that the customer service person said would be withdrawn from my account, actually went through. The $93.11 charge as well as the $8.66 charge went through yesterday. I also canceled my subscription yesterday. And I am awaiting another call today from your customer service people to see what y’all are gonna do about it. Not happy at all.

I didn't have to do anything and I have a better cost than the previous year. Power Wizard does all the work.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. I spent 2 hours on the phone, was hung up on 3 times, my electric bill is higher than it has ever been in my entire life (and I live alone). Something is very wrong with all this.
Horrible! Avoid!
This company is a complete waste of money and time. Avoid them!
When I first joined, they found a lower rate than what I was paying, which was great. Then they changed my plan because they found a cheaper rate, but that’s when the problems started.
First, they did not set up auto pay correctly and gave the new company the wrong contact information, so I didn’t learn that my bill wasn’t being paid until I was physically mailed a courtesy notice that the new provider would be disconnecting my service due to my delinquent account.
Customer service did not care, and it took me multiple calls over the span of a week to get them to contact the provider. Powerwizard has your account information so you can’t call the electric company directly if you want to - they have to be on the call with you to provide the email address and password they set up for you. Once I got the payment error resolved I had to convince Powerwizard to take responsibility for the mistake and tell the energy company to remove the flags on my account as they had caused me to miss multiple payments, and I would forever be one late payment away from being disconnected. It took me another week to get that to happen because they didn’t feel like it was their fault, even though they sent in the wrong payment information - they were able to pay themselves just fine.
I had to spend hours on the phone to resolve this, and if I got disconnected I was sent back to the beginning of the line to listen to people at a call center read the same script at me.
This is also when I learned that they had locked me into a three year contract with this company. I asked them to continue researching better rates, which they assured me they would do. It has been a year, I’m still with that company, and I’m paying more than ever. There is a better rate on the energy company’s webpage, but I haven’t been switched. I’ve emailed PowerWizard to ask when they would research lower rates for me and haven’t heard back.
Avoid them. It’s not worth paying $110 a year to do all the work yourself.
