My sister had taken funeral protection promis insurance out with promise life in 2020 for herself and thought she was paying to leave something to me which I explained she shouldn’t have
but she received no paper work until a missed payment in January this year showing her ref number so I contacted them only to find out she was missed sold a policy as she thought she was trying to leave me something to me if she died only to find out she’s taken a policy out on myself which I had no idea about so when I rang to explain this and they were going to investigate and ring me back but hasn’t heard from them when I try to ring them back I am on hold for over 1 hr with no joy how can they allow someone else to take a policy out with out any authorisation from the person insured so what she’s payed in the last 36 months might all be lost not happy with this company and there customer services is just as bad as the company’s policies
I am now going to go down the complaints procedure and if no joy I will be contacting financial ombudsman regarding this matter

Apology and still not right
I submitted my review on 8th Jan following the poor service, I was surprised and pleased to get a letter on 19th Jan apologising and offering compensation to be paid into my bank within 'a couple of days' needless to say this has never been received. Just spent another 40 mins on the phone to try and sort this and given up, just makes it all worse in all honesty

Me and my partner have life insurance with promise life. When she passed away in 2021 i called and they was so kind to me and helped me through what i needed to do to get my claim sorted. 100% professional and very caring in a time of sadness.

Absolutely Shocking. Can't Get in Touch by Phone. Postal Address a Nightmare
Absolutely shocking, dad had a funeral plan and passed in November 2023. Both phone numbers are useless (0800 061 2174 & 0800 907 0800) eventually got an answer and they sent out a claim form. We sent to the address - Freepost Customer Care Promis Life, luckily added our address as sender, returned 3 days later. Now they have sent another claim form saying we haven’t been in touch. Can’t get through on the phone again - 6 attempts on both lines today! Mum in her 80's and this is stressing her out. Not even an email address to send anything to, could easily have scanned and sent. Quick enough to take the money out of his bank account. Looking at contacting the fraud department.

Make a distressing time worse
Assisted my Mother in law in making a claim as my Father in law died very unexpectedly. They state they'll pay in 2 days. They kept asking for information they hadnt asked for they theb didn't pay in 2 days and it says you'll get £250. Then claimed they were having trouble with my Mother in laws bank details and they kept calling her causing her more distress while she is grieving. Claim finally paid after 70+ days and we were told we'd receive £250 under their policy. That hasn't come yet either. Full complaint being made now. Not what you need a such distressing time.

I have been trying to contact promis life to change my address on my bothers policy over 50s funeral plan for Steven Samson of which I am named as first contact. Please can some contact me as I have tried numerous times to speak to someone.

Something very suspicious about this company now.
I've been a customer for many years and recently tried to pay an outstanding instalment as I don't want my policy to lapse. I was informed I had missed 4 payments (untrue). Also spoke to someone claiming to be a manager. Call was on loud speaker and I could hear him huffing and puffing because the links he was sending me to pay were not working plus these emails were from a Liam McDermott and not the supposed manager I was speaking to. When questioned about these issues, the manager Stephano said he would call back, still waiting. Then spoke to someone named Richard who refused to tell me who the new traders were that have taken over Promis Life. The level of poor service is disgraceful. I am contacting trading standards as I have never encountered such a suspicious service in all these years. This is going on social media too. I would like some response ASAP.

Trying to sort a claim on my mother’s behalf.
Trying to sort a claim on my mother’s behalf, after my stepdad died in September! My mum has dementia and this company have been a nightmare to deal with.
Posted the claim form with the death certificate. It has all been return with a letter saying that they have copied it for their records. Also stating that they will be in touch shortly to update any changes…….
A simple phone call to my mum, would verify that they can discuss the situation with me would solve this problem. My mum also has a policy with them! To continue to pay this they need to contact me. I have applied for power of attorney. But the delay in paying out is unacceptable.

Never miss a direct debit
Never miss a direct debit! Means forever on the phone trying to sort. Literally you'll be worried about making it to your final you'll be on hold soooooooo long. Get with the times and have an email. When you do get to speak with someone they are lovely though.

I was devastated when my husband passed…
I was devastated when my husband passed away and I'm still grieving, I only took a basic policy with promis life because when my dad passed some years previously he had no funds. Promis life came through it was easy to apply and payed before the funeral. It was such a reassurance, like a weight had been lifted. I have one for myself so I don't leave a void for my kids to pick up!

After the sudden loss of my partner I…
After the sudden loss of my partner I had no idea where to start Promise life were amazing, with my permission they dealt with my daughter and took care of everything from start to finish. The paperwork process was easy to understand and full payment was made within a couple of weeks. The staff were very empathetic and understanding I couldn't of done it without them, I am truly grateful for the expertise and ease of dealing with everything for us.
