An elderly friend took out a policy some time ago, had several problems. Most of all i think it is disgusting that during Covid19 they are till advertising on TV
I would give zero stars
I would give zero stars. This company constantly harass my father, are rude and ill mannered to him. He's been very unwell and poorly and it's like they wish to take advantage of his poor health. They keep telephoning him and the last few times I've answered the phone and told them he isn't interested. Harassment all the time prying on vulnerable people and when he said he wasn't going to take out life insurance with them they got very aggressive.

I found the staff very polite, friendly and helpful. They genuinely cares about my loss. My claim was handled quickly and professionally. I received the payment just over 24 hours after they received my documents. Would highly recommend.

Appalling service appalling staff,guys do not buy from these if you want your love one to be buried,go look elsewhere what does promise life mean,I will tell you soon,my mum had a policy with these and as a result died,she died as a result of a fall,now these are not paying out as they promised,so I will be taking the matter higher as youve let me and my mum down
The only promise life really stands for is promis life gives you no promis except a life of debt cheers guys put that in your pipe and smoke that,so where has my mums money gone?????

I requested a quote online merely to check the rate. As expected it was very expensive and way above the quote I have settled on. I have been bombarded with phone calls. I have written to the Head Office telling them to stop harassing me. It makes NO difference. AVOID like the black death. They are EXPENSIVE and they will never leave you alone. My next step is a formal complaint to the FCA. This form of selling should be outlawed

Pressure selling but management were quick to take action
Went to the website to have a nosy and entered my phone number within 20mins i got a call from annmarie (13th feb 17:52) who went through my options i was very happy with the information provided and was all set for signing up, although i was starting redecoration so the plan was to finish the redecorating and when it was done contact promislife and sign up
However at 11:33 on 6th March 2020 i got a call from a guy didn't catch his name who asked me if i was still interested i said yes i was i just want to finish redecorating then i will sign up he then tried different ways of getting me to sign up there and then mentioning the Argos gift card for furniture etc... which was all fine what i never mentioned was i was at work so didn't have my card details on me but that part doesn't matter, he then said "is the cost of your decorating more important then your funeral"
At this point i lost it with him and just told him I'm no longer interested and hung the phone up. I'm in my 30s so still have a long time before i have to worry about that and don't like pressure selling, if he would of taken the hint that i was going to sign up when i was ready then i would of signed up but trying to guilt trip me into signing up while I'm at work asking me if the cost of my livingroom is more important then their stupid policy took it too far.
Would rate 0 star have since found another policy with sunlife and unlike this pathetic company sunlife also offer the same giftcard and are happy to wait till I'm ready not trying to pressure me into making a snap decision on a monthly plan that i will be paying for the rest of my life which i plan on being at least 50+ years

Update: have since received a letter from promislife giving me more information on the issue and addressed the concerns along with a leaflet on making a complaint to the financial ombudsman, I am happy the issue has been taken seriously and action has been taken, I've since changed my review rating from 1 star to 4 and I may reconsider taking out a promislife policy when I'm ready to do so.

Writing for hubby who has been getting cold calls from promislife
They are calling him all day long, yesterday he told them I'm not in the position at the moment to buy life insurance, my job has just finished so pls don't call me.
2 hours later they called again and again, and soon as we opened our eyes this morning.
Had to block their number but I garuntee they will call from a different number.
This type of harassment should be ILLEGAL!!!!

only wanted a quote , wish i had never given them my phone number on the phone all the time everyday , will not use them as do not want to be harassed by a company like this ,. will not recommend them to anybody ,
Security concerns - updated
After asking for a call from this provider, I discussed it with one of their people. My only reservation - and it is a BIG one - is that they wanted me to give my bank details over the phone. We are told on a daily basis NEVER to give bank details over the phone, especially if you don't know the people calling you. I would much prefer a quote in writing so that I have to sign something and they give their quote, t&c etc in black and white. Since then I have read some less than flattering reviews of the company and I am concerned about dealing with them. Having now received a quote I see I have had 3 missed calls from them and it;s only lunchtime.
UPDATE. Following the reply received on this website, I should point out that the person I spoke to kept insisting I review the email she sent to me pushing me to close the deal there and then. I said that I would prefer something in writing (ie a hard copy of the proposal) but she just kept insisting I read the email. No doubt the telesales people have targets and are encouraged to push for the sale there and then - they probably work on a commission base only. I have been busy today and see I have missed at least 4 calls. If there is one thing that will turn me off it's pushy sales persons. :(

Continuous harassing calls
Continuously getting calls from this company dispite me asking them to stop calling. I'm on my 4th call from them today and it's 3pm.
Tv advertising Promis life
I’ve listened to their ad on tv and they are quoting higher funeral costs ! the cost of a funeral is around £3,500 - £3,800 I have lodged a complaint with the Advertisement Agency and to “Which”. Other Life insurance companies were forced to comply with the law as they were all quoting higher figures which were not true. However this company refused to change their ad. Earlier this week their tv ad figures went from £6,000 to £5,000. They will be forced to quote competitively and any decision on my life insurance company will be greatly influenced by this behaviour.
I had a reply from Tom in Promis Life unfortunately you do not agree Tom ! you are losing potential customers as your funeral cost is the highest, market research did take place (I know) and as a result life insurance companies were warned to be realistic and not quote higher figures. Your quote is grossly exaggerated and should be £3,000-£3,800 and you are the only company quoting this figure. Please feel free to reply when you change your ad and quote actual figures. A second reply from Promis Life and another attempt to excuse their figures Are you now saying that every life insurance company who place ads for £3,000-£3800 on a Tv are to be questioned ? they quote figures in the £3,800 region ?

My disabled wife
My disabled wife, who has hearing problems as been getting continues mobile calls from this company, even tho she has no recollection of asking to be contacted, and has had no literature from them, today she was being asked for bank details over the phone, even tho she had no idea who the caller was, except saying they were calling on behalf of promised life, is it standard company policy to ask for bank details, even tho the representative was told specifically that that my wife had received nothing from you, and it could have been anyone on the other end of the phone, defiantly not something I feel a reputable company would do

A form I'm reading states that premiums are payable until age 90. So if you live more than the age of 90 do you loose all the money paid ?

I have held a policy for this company…
I have held a policy for this company for some time. When I failed to contact them to get a replacement policy document I cancelled my and my wife's direct debits hoping that they will contact me - which they did. However when I was trying to call them to reinstate policies using the phone number provided (0800 907 0900) in the letter it was futile exercise. I kept on getting an automated voice message saying the number you have dialled has not been recognised please check and try again. Now if I had called wanting to make a claim the distress this would cause would have been unimaginable. Was I scammed or this is just a case of poor customer service?
