Pure Retirement made me an offer for a Lifetime Mortgage that I accepted. I didn't deal directly with them, my Financial Adviser did all the work. I am happy with the offer, and I am sure there won't be any problems, but if there are, I can contact them directly or have my FA do it for me.

Our advisor Jason White was excellent. He provided us with advice and guidance enabling us to make an informed independent decision regarding the product that we felt was appropriate for our situation. At no time did did we feel pressured into making a choice and we were given ample opportunity to review and evaluate the choices available to us . Jason was very knowledgeable and supportive throughout the process and communication was superb. Once we came to a decision there was great liaison with the legal team and Kieron and the team kept us informed throughout whilst ensuring remarkably swift progress. Good and speedy process with regular communications from all parties.
I particularly favour the solicitor visit to go through the documents, most helpful indeed.
What didn’t work so well was the surveyor, I found him to be brusque and lacked local knowledge to place the appropriate value on my home for the area. Given there were very good sold comparables during the last six months.
The surevdor experience did cause me to reflect whether your life time mortgage was the right company and the right product.

Professional and efficient

It's my first time applying for Equity Release on my property, initial enquiry started in January with financial advisor there is lots of information to be gathered, but with the help of a financial advisor this was made easier with form filling. Time waiting on a decision was a little off putting, also having to contact your office when lawyer hadn't received any paperwork wasn't ideal. Date given for monies to be put in bank was also changed by a few days, and at time of doing this review has still not been received. Apart from these slight delays,
the service from the company is very good.

From beginning to end never experienced any problems

A lot of the 5* reviews are regarding getting a mortgage. My review is at the other end of the process which is about when the borrower dies.
We have a buyer for the property, everything is in order and the completion date was before Christmas. We required a form (their form) to be completed by them as the final document. It has taken them 10 weeks (to date…no sign of the form yet) to get this form correct. The form gets issued, a mistake is spotted by our solicitors, PR request the form be returned by post, they then lose the form, re-issue another form…with the same mistake…this has then been repeated. What complete and utter incompetence.

I don’t often write reviews but felt compelled to on behalf of my elderly father.
My dad doesn’t read very well as left school early so didn’t really know what he was doing.
He took out a mortgage release for 33 thousand pounds.
The new statement came through and he owes nearly 136 thousand!!!
Unbelievable!This is robbery!

Pure Retirement were really efficient and helpful. Can’t fault the process at all. Brilliant financial solution.
The only thing is they valued the house lower than expected which was probably the surveyors rather than them and the comparators weren’t a match as in a different area.
