One star is too many! Ordered a hoover part 3 weeks ago. Their phone line is out of service and their chat line doesn't work either. Scammers or gone out of business and kept the money.

Hi i did purchase payment went threw no email about order when I first contacted them telephone number worked they said in pending after 2 weeks telephone number out of order no more emails dont but anything from these people they scammers no refund

I ordered universal oven knobs for my gas hob. This was quite urgent as the original knob was broken and I could no longer fully use my hob for cooking. As I never heard back from them regarding delivery I was forced to order elsewhere. I had paid with PayPal and after repeated contact and no response I decided to cancel for a full refund. They did respond and am now receiving my refund. Their knobs were twice as expensive as the ones I found elsewhere with next day delivery.

Awful. No help whatsoever and never return emails.

This is the second or third time I have used Ransomespares and I have to say, as with my previous experiences with them, I have found their customer service and delivery absolutely superb. On all the occasions I’ve used them, I was looking for spare parts for an old strimmer - I thought these parts would be obsolete, but on each occasion, they came up trumps ! So I’m hugely grateful to them, everything arrived as promised and as far as I’m concerned, they deserve every star available, thank you to you all for great service and a great customer experience.

Very easy to order and the delivery was very quick. I would recommend this company to anyone needing parts.

Ordered and paid for a much needed part that was shown as in stock, the next day I received an email claiming it was out of stock and I would have to wait three weeks. I will be claiming through PayPal

In March 25 ordered a £122 wheel for a lawn mower using a vague diagram on Ransom site. Seen to be wrong so followed the returns policy. No acknowledgement and no refund. now mid June 2025. Letter, emails, phone calls all un answered. Is this theft?

Awful experience for me with Ransom (aptly named) I purchased a charger for my Bosch hedge cutter on 22 April. Fairly straightforward, I imagined. Not at all. First, the item was out of stock. Then, when the charger arrived around one week later, I had been sent an international model. Maybe my fault, as I should have double-checked everything, but I have a UK address, so I'm puzzled as to why the Ransom brigade thought I might need an Australian charger! Anyway, I then tried to exchange it for the correct one. Over a nearly 3-week period, I received a series of - probably AI-generated - messages from Ransom, promising some sort of vague action and written almost each time by a different person. Finally, I gave up and sent the charger back. Even that has not proved simple. I was able to track the return through Evri. However, the last update I received was from Saturday 17, 4 days ago. And this was identical to the one the day before that. I've been lucky, as I raised a case with Paypal and have been issued with a full refund. I very much doubt that I would have received anything from Ransom. In conclusion, I'm a reasonable person but I can honestly say that this is the worst experience I've ever had with an online retailer. My advice to anyone thinking of buying anything from these cowboys should look elsewhere. Just look at the reviews, and ignore the glowing ones, which raise my suspicions.

SCAM bought 82 pounds off ebay kept delaying delivery every month 6 months later asked for refund they blocked me...because out of ebays time frame they new exactly what they doung kept money do not buy off them...going to report them take as far as i can

Required 2 light fittings for a Electrolux cooker hood. Searched the internet and Ransom spares website showed it had them in stock. I ordered them and paid for express delivery. Got a reply back from Ransom spares day's later stating they hadn't got them in stock and that they had ordered them direct from Electrolux who would send them to me. I contacted Electrolux following day who said they was discontinued in June 2024 and no stock was available. Ransom spares had deceived me, so I had to contact Ransom spares again and told them I had contacted Electrolux and told them what I had found out. They eventually agreed to refund me but it took weeks for me to get my money back.
Ransom spares still advertise the light fittings as available and in stock which they aren't.
Beware of this company taking your money for parts they don't really have.

If I can give minus 5 stars i would , I am copying my last email to the company which says it all:
Dear Aileen

Again the bank has confirmed that no monies had been sent by yourselves as alleged by yourselves. This whole experience has been a nightmare from the start. (1) You alleged sending the part
(2) You gave me a tracking number for Evri who had been contacted confirming that no goods had been given to them ! Now:
(3) alleging payment with a ledger !!!

This whole conduct is unacceptable commercially nor ethically, for your information I ordered the same piece from E-spares and had the same delivered in 2 working days! Go figure!
I await hearing from you as I will not let the matter go as I believe this is not honest at all.

Awful company, as others have mentioned on here I ordered two parts both showing in stock at time, 2 weeks later no parts!! Emailed them after 5 days to be told there was a problem with parts and they were not in stock (same excuses as other review seems a standard practice from here). They didn't bother to inform me there was an issue with my order until I chased them. Save yourself the trouble and order from a more reliable company that doesn't mislead the customer.

Update*** after 5 emails chasing and being fobbed off by customer services I have now been told another 4 weeks before part can be dispatched, stalling tactics to keep my money. Awaiting refund. Avoid this company at all costs.

Further update I received an email today telling me the parts are not available until end of February, I replied requesting the full refund and received a further email saying they can't refund me as warehouse have marked my order as awaiting dispatch.Beware this company will deceive and avoid giving refunds.

I wish I had read the recent comments as my experience was no better than what I have read below. Made an order for an urgent part, immediate confirmation that I paid through paypal nothing for 5 days from Ransomespares. try to contact them on line through the BOT which goes to sleep mid conversation, cant find a telephone number or an email address, the online form you need an order number which of course I don't have as my order has not been acknowledged. Eventually get through to a human being on the chat... gave me an order number, but I now find out there is a problems with the part... they don't have it and no estimation of when they might get it.

The company is correctly named as my experience was to place an order and receive it two months later. They took my cash at the time of order and held onto it!. No phone, but there was email communication, with them making constant apologies which turned into endless unfulfilled promises and no delivery. No discount for the delay and still had to pay for the delivery. I would avoid Ransom they don’t keep their site up-to-date with what they have in stock and only tell you after you’ve ordered it’s out of stock. Very bad practice in my view

Tried to contact the company with a query about a product.

Noted they have no email, no phone number and just have a very basic contact form that doesn't allow for any other questions other than with an existing order or returning something.

Did not inspire any confidence they would be able to deal professionally with me if something went awry so went elsewhere...

Easy to search, right part at a fair price
