Sent Me an Item Their Website Doesn't Even Sell

I ordered a bulk box of gluten free Red Lobster biscuits back in February. I live in the same city they're based out of but it took them more than a month to get my order to me, and when it arrived, it was not the gluten-free version; I basically could not eat something I spent nearly $100 on. I was perplexed- their website does not even stock the standard one.

I reached out to them asking for a refund and eventually they ghosted me. I had to contact my credit card company, issue a chargeback, and 4 months later got a full refund. Don't order with these people- they are glorified drop shippers who can't even read order specs and won't take responsibility when they undoubtedly mess up.

EDIT in response to rarecandy's lies: I don't know why you think lying to every single reviewer in the comments is the right way to go about conducting your failed business instead of taking full responsibility for your shady and downright illegal business practices and doing better, but here we are. You never issued me a refund- I was only refunded 8 months after the original order because my credit card refunded me, not because you did the decent thing.

I asked for a partial refund after it took you 30+ days to ship the item, not in response to the wrong item being sent. You did ghost me- I told you to send me a return label and schedule a pick up time of the incorrect product you don't even sell on your website and you never responded.

I didn't get a "free order"- I had to spent $15 out of pocket to fax my credit card company our email correspondences in which they verified you LIED and then issued me my money back. I didn't get a "free order"- I have a box sitting in my basement of product I cannot use because I have celiac disease, I cannot eat what you sent, which is why I ordered the gluten-free in the first place. This is not a "small mistake"- this is an outright attempt at theft, and if my CC didn't make it right you NEVER would have. Would you like me to release my email records and credit card statements to prove it all and embarrass you even further online? I gladly will.

Your response reminded me to file an official complaint with the better business bureau, and I can't wait until your operation gets shut down.

update #2: At this point it's embarrassing watching you respond quicker to bad reviews than you do your actual emails of paying customers. Get a life, perhaps, run a proper business, find a hobby, anything else? You're not allowed to come online, try to steal money from HUNDREDS of people, say straight up lies, then claim I'm being "too negative"- it's called the consequences of your actions. Saying I'm making it personal? YOU made it personal the second you tried to steal my money. The piles of reviews here of people who have issues with your business in comparison to the literal non-existent positive reviews says it all. You lied about giving me a refund and you continue to lie by making up fake stats no one can verify. Clean up your act, stop responding to reviews in ways that only make you look like more of a child than we all already know you to be, and do better.

Update #3: These people are obsessed and will not leave me alone. Are you seriously trying to compare your tiny company no one knows or has ever heard to APPLE? To SAMSUNG? Apple and Samsung have been in business for decades with millions of happy customers worldwide- hundreds of bad reviews means nothing. A do-nothing company like yours sharing that number is embarrassing and indicative of a problem, and the fact that I have to explain this to you is indicative of an even bigger problem. Economies of scale? How do you run a business and not know these simple concepts?

There is a reason you refuse to open a google business page and there is no option to leave comments on your tiktok- you have wronged too many people and know that it would be flooded with hate, and getting online and falsely claiming "defamation" is crybaby central. Being a small company does not give you the right to try and screw customers and then silence them when they stand up for themselves. Human decency is something you should perhaps read a book about.

No one stole anything from me because my credit card refunded me money. You GHOSTED me and refused to, so stop sitting there acting like you did nothing wrong when the true facts are written before you.

I've already written a private request to Trustpilot as I just now saw your attempt to falsely claim I'm not a real person in order to get my review taken down. If you had responded to my review or any of the others like anyone with a modicum of business sense should have -Sorry, I made a mistake, it won't happen again- you wouldn't have to stoop to these lows, but here you are, publicly embarrassing yourself what, three times in a row now?

I hope you have a terrible day! You are a fellow Canadian out to screw customers.

We are sorry to let you down for this order, but we did send you a store credit refund, plus we told you you can keep the $90.34 order for FREE because you told us you were unable to drop off the product.

What you told us was this" Can I get at least a partial refund on this order as an apology "

We gave you a full refund, plus the free item.

We did not Ghost you, maybe you missed our emails ?

In the end, yes you did chargeback, and got a free order. because you told us you could not return the package due to your situation. We understood , that you cant bring the package anywhere, and UPS cannot come to your house to get the package, they cant do it.

Its not fair to bash us over a small mistake.

update: UNDER 1.4% of all of customers have left a negative review. Im not saying your experience is not valid, but that is not everyone elses situation.

We have passed 10,000 Orders.

The MAJORITY of all of our customers have had a positive experience.

We are sorry YOUR situation and experience was not good. This is called feedback, and we are learning from it, there is nothing embarrassing about a bad customer experience, we want all of our customers to be happy and satisfied, sorry you arent happy, but you are making it personal, and its too negative....

Please do me a favour and read reviews, by samsung, apple or tesla, nike, you will see that not only do they have sub 2 stars, they have tens of thousands of 1 star reviews.

From your statements, do you think Samsung should close down ? Should apple close down ? Apple and nike have been known to use child labor, I think you are confusing the bad guys here....

Your order and experience does not apply to 98% of our customers experiences. If that was the case, we would have thousands of negative reviews.

They don't stock their products

They don't stock their products. The order we recieved came in an Amazon box. Thats why it takes so long(if it even shows up) for shipping.They are equivalent to the shady drug dealer that needs your money to get the goods. I have called them out on this and to a big surprise, they stopped responding. They still owe me 240.00 worth of products. What a scam. Being a shopify website, they won't do anything about it either. It's so unfortunate because this could be a very good website. I guess it's the old saying. If it seems to good to be true, it always is. I even read their terms and conditions and picked them apart in a lengthy email to them. Stay far away from this company.

AWFUL DO NOT!!

Terrible! Spent $100 and got maybe $12 worth of candy. Their “worldwide mystery box” contains all expired goods… that I can literally get in Canada. Scam of a company.

You are just bashing us for no reason.

In your original email, you never mentioned anything about any items being expired.

Then you left a negative review, saying some items were expired.

And now you are saying all items were expired.

That is completey false, and you are over exaggerating.

if you aren't happy with the value of the order, you are are free to shop anywhere else, but no you cannot get these anywhere in Canada.

We do not tolerate lying anymore. Your statement is false, and disrespectful to the hardworking team at rare candy canada. We usually dont reply to these negative trustpilot reviews, but the bashing has gotten out of hand, and its become defamation.

You won't get what you paid for

Wow. Took 3 weeks to just to ship. No communication. Spent $140 to qualify for free shipping. Only recieved 4 out of 10 items I ordered even though it all showed in stock. Came in a lackluster envelope and the chocolate was completely melted, open and deformed. Can't believe I waited this long for garbage. Really wish I found these reviews before ordering!

Sorry, we dont send items in envelopes. That doesnt make any sense. Maybe you are thinking about a bubble mailer ?

Free shipping is not $140, its $120

Even if your review is genuine, Sorry for letting you down! If any items were missing, you for sure got a store credit refund!

These guys never answer to their emails. I wanted to cancel my order and they never did. Instead, they rushed to send my order with missing items. Extremly disappointed.

Horrible customer service

I placed my second order on January 29th 2024. I knew there would be a long ship time per their website. My order shipped out February 24th via UPS, I also received an email that I was refunded $15.25 for out of stock items (with no mention of what was out of stock). If only I knew what was to come.
TLDR: Shipment rejected by customs and sent back, they re-shipped via ups, rejected again, they finally shipped via FedEx. I received *part* of my order, multiple items damaged beyond being edible, they refused any accountability and quit responding to emails.
Here is the full story and an accounting of all emails (Since they like to claim people are liars).
March 12th I emailed the company because I was notified my items were rejected by customs and sent back. They apologized and let me know that has never happened and they would reship another way, like FedEx.
March 19th I received notification that they reshipped via UPS.
March 23rd I reached out because the tracking info started the same loop I saw in the first shipment.
March 25th They responded "everything looks fine on our end"
March 26th I replied saying it wasn't ok and that UPS wanted an importer ID from me
March 28th they told me everything was fine, it was just going through customs. I responded that it wasn't progressing, and gave them a screenshot showing UPS was waiting on info from me. Which was the importer ID that I don't have because I was just trying to buy some snacks
March 29th I emailed asking what to do to get the shipment moving since I do not have an importer ID ----NO RESPONSE
April 4th- UPS sent the package back and I emailed asking "What now" --------NO RESPONSE
April 9th I emailed yet again, asking for some type of solution since they had my product and my money
April 12th product reshipped via Fed Ex
April 23rd product FINALY received and another email sent. "I finally received my order, thank you so much. But there were a few issues.
All of the chips, Pringle, and individual candies are crushed.
I ordered 4 skittle littles and got 3
Did not get the space dunk oreos
Did not get the peach & grape heart candy
Did not get the 12 cherry freeze prime
Only got 1 LA Dodgers prime when one case was ordered
Only got 1 Hydration KSI when 1 case was ordered
Did not get the 4 kit kat cookie dough wafters
Ordered 4 trix loaded cereal, got 3"
Their response:
"Hello!
I am so happy that the order finally arrived. We can file a claim with fedex for any damage if they caused it.
We also covered over $200 for reshipping the order 3x Times. :)
You were refunded for any missing inventory from unavailable items.
The Prime drinks were not a case, those are individual bottles, because they are rare limited edition drinks.
Please leave a note for future orders to Use FedEx on the cart page .

I responded that the $15 in no way covered what I was missing, that the shipping was not my problem, and that there is no way I would have paid $122 for ONE BOTTLE of prime (they have since updated whir website so I can't prove it.) I told them since I can't prove that the two primes weren't originally listed as just one case, I wouldn't argue that but I wanted a refund for the other missing items, minus the $15 they already gave me.
It has been crickets since then.
Total of missing items: $126
Total of Prime that I can't prove: $187
Total of items destroyed during shipping $154
That is $467 dollars I am out due to this company, and because of all the back and forth it's too late to file a chargeback. An expensive lesson learned on my part, but hopefully this will save someone in the future.

And- for their you can't find it on Amazon BS- Everything that didn't show up----I bought on Amazon since my kids were quite disappointed, and for WAAAYYYYY cheaper.

Should've checked the reviews first.

I ordered a product that was listed as in stock - shipping was extremely expensive, but it was a specialty product, so I ordered a large size (43oz) and ate the cost. Several weeks later, with no communication or warning, I received a 9oz package. There was no way to know a substitution had been made until I opened the package, even the shipping information said 43oz. Contacted support, they issued a partial refund in store credit that I can't use because the seller is untrustworthy.
Avoid at all costs or you'll wind up with the wrong product and useless store credit.

I ordered grape prime

I ordered grape prime, they shipped me banged up bottles, when I complaint and told them about it, they said it was not their issue that it was the carrier issue, three months later. No refund and no case with the carrier. They tip people off... and I see I'm not the only one

Stay away.

Made an order. They sent me the wrong product. It was same brand but wrong product. ( Also this was a whole case of this product not just 1 package).Reached out to customer service to get this remedied, and was told they wouldnt fix it. After making a post about this on their page with screenshots of their email responce I was threatened with legal action. Dont waste your time.

Ordered some candy, they didn't have it all, so they sent me some, and then a $25 online credit. Even if I buy 1 sucker they charge you $23 for shipping there goes my $25 credit, what a SCAM

Terrible company…

Terrible experience ordering from this company. I reached out to an ad on Facebook marketplace for prime drinks and they directed me to their website, I was told it would only take a few days to receive the order via their website. The order took weeks and we did not get in time for the birthday party it was planned for. When it finally did arrive, the products were damaged. They did not respond to me when I asked for updates. Do not order from here.

Worst company in the business

Worst company in the business. Do not bother use candyfunhouse or somewhere else. I had to do a charge back with a credit card because they sent me nothing I ordered. It took forever and they wouldn't reply. Until they were notified of the dispute with my credit card. Then went psycho on me. Wish we could post pictures here. This was quite awhile back now and I still see this is a problem with there little scam garage based bs.

Product Damaged, Terrible Customer Service

Product damaged. Company tried to blame courier and filed shipping insurance claim even though I told them the shipping box was in perfect condition. Refused to offer a refund and insisted I wait for a verdict on the shipping insurance claim. Has been over a month. If they resolved this reasonably and immediately, I probably would have used them again. They’re allergic to repeat business.

I’ve seen other people being…

I’ve seen other people being disappointed but you get what you pay for! The shipping times were as precised and communication was good. As a free gift, I received a whole free bag of skittles and a airhead! Finally I got what I really wanted which were oatmeal creme pies which I love to death since they were discontinued in Canada. I don’t understand the hate really.
