Disappointing quality and customer experience – not what you’d expect at this price point

I purchased a white-orange Rubber B strap for my Rolex Explorer II with high expectations, based on how the brand positions itself—Swiss-made, hand-finished, used by top watchmakers like Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet. Sadly, the product I received fell far short of that promise.

The first strap had a clear visual flaw—an uneven color transition and a visible surface bump. I reported the issue with detailed documentation, including photos and color analysis. Rubber B sent a replacement, but it too showed visible irregularities.

When I raised this again, I was told these were normal tolerances due to hand-finishing. I find that hard to believe—no luxury brand would accept this level of inconsistency, especially for a product meant to complement a multi-thousand-euro timepiece.

Rather than standing behind their quality and inspecting inventory for a flawless strap, Rubber B ultimately declined to continue and advised me to return the item for a refund. That’s not the kind of service or product control I expected from a brand claiming to be in the luxury segment.

I’ve returned both straps and won’t be buying from Rubber B again. Disappointing from start to finish.

Excellent, I purchased mine for an SD43

I purchased mine for an SD43, it is SOOOO comfortable, excellent quality with extreme comfort combined. Sometimes by the end of the day using my steel bracelet the watch would feel a tad heavy but with this strap it is easy to wear for long periods.

I have not experienced any of the issues mentioned and would definitely recommend this, I believe I got exactly what I paid for. I would also recommend the strap option that is compatible with the glidelock clasp if you have this on your watch, it is a perfect fit and nothing beats a glidelock for adjustability.

With regards to changing the bracelet for the strap I purchased a tool that looks like an equal length wishbone that allowed me to compress both sides of the spring bar at the same time making the process super easy. It took me about 10 minutes to change including fitting the glidelock.

Bought the black rubber strap for submariner and the ability to use the Rolex clasp is awesome. The watch looks great and feels great and the rubber strap is very nice. I look to purchase a white strap soon!

Great Band for Rolex Daytona

I purchased a black band for my Rolex Daytona. The fit is perfect and the band uses the original clasp. I considered getting a band for either my Daytona or Oyster Perpetual Benjamin showed me the band on both watches and I decided to put it on the Daytona. Frankly, it breathed new life into the Daytona which had been sitting in a closet for a while. The watch is now lighter and more comfortable than with the original stainless steel band and it looks great. Highly recommended.

They lied to me about the strength of the strap, and refused to refund.

I bought my watch (Tudor Black Bay Pro) partially based on the fact that it is compatible with RubberB straps. I appreciate a solid rubber strap, and was told that RubberB was quality. Unfortunately, I would find out the exact opposite. I ran a quick 9 hole golf round near my house, and was quite tired after a long week of work. I slipped on the morning dew during my drive, and hit the ground palm down and slid. When my wrist slid across the ground, the RubberB band broke so quickly that I didn't even notice! I went the next two holes before I even noticed the watch was gone. Luckily, the group before me found my watch and brought it to me, thank god for good people! I immediately messaged RubberB customer support, letting them know the band failed very quickly, without me even noticing. Instead of replacing it free of charge as they should, they sent me a paragraph about how they "test their bands to extreme torsion levels" and that I must be mistaken about how my band broke so quickly. They also told me that only the Rolex bands have fibers running through them, preventing them from tearing like mine.

My issue isn't necessarily the cost of the half band replacement that they made me pay for ($155), it's the fact that I can't trust this band ($300) with my $4k watch. If it could break at any time, it isn't worth wearing.

I told them that it's unacceptable for them to advertise a "lifetime warranty" and deny me immediately because the band is supposedly unbreakable, when my band broke without me noticing. Their response was to charge me for the half that broke and offer absolutely no support.

Needless to say, this will be the last time I buy from, or recommend, RubberB products again, unless they are willing to reach out and make this situation right.

We care deeply, always answered your emails the same business day, and provided you a thoughtful exception of splitting a pair so you could purchase the single side you needed and would not have to order an entire new strap set. However, we cannot provide a free replacement strap for your case, which was not a manufacturing issue but rather an anomaly of your strap being torn in a situation that is beyond typical wear.

Rubber B has been providing specialty rubber straps to the public in very large quantities worldwide for over fourteen years. We have a wonderful base of customers who frequently return to purchase additional or replacement straps after an average of 5-6 years for the Tang Buckle Series like yours (retiring them for aging patina or suppleness issues, not for tearing)... Manufactured 100% at the top Swiss factory in the luxury horology industry (same factory as Hublot, Omega, Richard Mille OEM straps), using the finest and most durable vulcanized rubber in existence today, Rubber B straps are built for the most discerning client to enjoy in their limitless sport and aquatic lifestyles under normal circumstances. The fact that your strap was torn across its body is in contrast to its nature and could only happen under extremely rare unusual force.

Consider that Rubber B has a lengthy record of quality (95% five stars by verified buyers) over the past 14 years, proven by the lack of complaints in large numbers among all various review websites.

We do not understand how your strap could possibly rip in two. It was so unusual that it was discussed amongst our customer service agents as shocking. The supervisor wished to help you in some way, so the half-strap solution was organized on your behalf. It is regretful that you were not happy with this solution.

Additionally, we do not advertise any warranty anywhere whatsoever. Our warranty is limited to our long-term reputation.

We wish to extend our genuine wishes that you will see the true and typical lifespan of your new Rubber B strap over the coming years, as it is meant to bring you great enjoyment.

Huge disappointment with Swimskin Rubber B

I bought a Swimskin Rubber B strap for a Deepsea a little more than a year ago. Was extremely happy - but not for too long. The fixed strap loop just broke about 2 weeks ago. Also the thread of the strap is being worn away by the Velcro strip underneath - this would happen of you have a bigger wrist like mine or prefer a loose fit. I’m an old guy not doing active sports etc and expected at least 4-5 years of service from this strap. I also don’t abuse my watch or strap but I do wear it almost 24/7 most of the time. The thread being worn away by the Velcro is definately a design flaw and the strap loop that broke is baffling. I sent pictures to Rubber B and they said they offer no warranty and they’ve never seen these problems before. As courtesy gesture they offered me a 10% discount if I want to buy a new one. This is really bad customer service in my opinion - especially because I should get a lifespan of 4-5 years from the strap. So I paid usd300
+ postage for a strap lasting a year. As much as I like the strap I won’t ever support Rubber B again.

PS. Please note they do not offer any warranty. That says it all. In contrast another supplier of high quality rubber bands offer a lifetime warranty. A premium product with no warranty says everything a prospective buyer should know

Terrible Experience – $575 Lost and No Support from Customer Service

I purchased 2 straps and a buckle from this company, totaling $575. Unfortunately, the parcel never arrived, and the whole experience has been nothing short of a disaster. After waiting much longer than the estimated delivery time, I reached out to their customer service, expecting a quick resolution. Instead, I was met with slow, generic responses that offered little to no help.

Despite multiple follow-ups, I was either ignored or given vague answers that did not address the issue. It’s clear they have no interest in resolving this situation or ensuring customer satisfaction. I’ve been left in the dark, out of pocket, and with absolutely no product to show for my purchase.

What’s most frustrating is the complete lack of accountability. They didn’t offer a refund, replacement, or even a sincere apology. It’s honestly appalling that a company operating at this price point can be so dismissive when it comes to resolving customer issues.

If you’re considering making a purchase here, I strongly advise against it. Save yourself the headache and stick to buying from a physical store where you can ensure you actually receive what you paid for. My experience has been a huge waste of time and money, and I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.

Update: I have not received any of my money back from PAYPAL. You have my money and I have no straps. You should be very careful with the way you respond to complaints. Insinuating that I am a ‘thief’ won’t be taken lightly.

Again, keep well away from this scam company!

Your story should kindly include all of the facts. The moment you reached out to us, we initiated a UPS investigation. We are reachable via telephone and email for live human assistance without delay on all correspondences, as you know. Unfortunately, you decided to make a credit card dispute (chargeback) during the investigation period.

We always provide a replacement shipment after the UPS period has passed. However, once we received notice from PayPal that you had bizarrely reversed the charge, there was nothing further we could do. The normal routine (like all other customers over the past 14 years) would have been to wait the 8 days UPS asked for in to locate the package, and then you would have immediately gotten a new replacement shipment. Your unusual behavior set us aside, causing a misunderstanding on both sides and putting a wrench in the wheel.

Additionally, there was a period of phone calls where we gladly helped you place your order in advance of your purchase because of some IT problems with your browser on our website.

In summary, we helped you with excellent service before and after your order, but you caused a problem by not waiting the 8 days UPS investigation period, causing us to lose our straps forever, and lose the money for them as it was given back to you by PayPal.... . So you have your money, and we have no straps. And now, you feel the need to also give us 1 star to add insult to injury?

In all honesty, Mr Soon, it would be nice if merchants could rate their customers online for the protection of other merchants in the future.

FURTHER REPLY: PayPal notified us that you are received the funds back in your account. Please check with your bank again to confirm this, as the banks always cause unnecessary delays (not us) in showing credits on statements. Thank you.

RAVI !!!

Je suis ravi de l'achat de mes deux bracelets chez Rubber B Paris, le 1er bracelet a été livré en 2 semaines :) !!! et le 2ème était disponible en magasin. Je tiens tout particulièrement à remercier vivement Salomé qui est une excellente conseillère, très calme, posée et qui a eu la gentillesse de me changer les deux bracelets. Je suis donc ravi, je conseille fortement Rubber B Paris avec Salomé !!!

Amazing quality, fit, and finishing.

If there’s any trepidation about spending much higher amounts of money on Rubber B model-specific bands, rest assured they’re worth the price of admission. Amazing fit and quality on my Seamaster 300 Heritage… the perfect compliment to a watch for which Omega doesn’t make an OEM rubber strap. Although I purchased the Rubber B buckle, I ended up putting an OEM 18mm buckle on to complete the look. I’m very happy.

Fantatsic fit and finish

Quick, speedy service and a suburb fit to my Rolex 14060m submariner. It gives a summer sporty vibe and adjusts for those hotter days missing on the old bracelet. Quality in no way cheapens the look; it is literally made for the job. I'm delighted with the strap and the new vibe given to my old classic.
