I am really enjoying the way this course is structured, and I have never seen a language course taught in such a wonderfully systematic and comfortably paced way.

I am finishing up Unit 3 right now. I have taken a few language courses in school, but none have compared to this course. I am really enjoying the course and seeing myself grow in the language. I finally understand what you mean when you say "thinking in Russian," I catch myself doing it all the time throughout the day. By far the most comprehensive language course I have ever taken. Thank you for your awesome work Mark and Russian Accelerator Team! I look forward to progressing in the course!

I decided to learn Russian in May 2020. I’m in my 50’s and learnt pigeon french and German in school but stopped at age 16. So, I did a lot of searching on line as to how to learn Russian. I started with Marks free Russian Made Easy course, then Marks Russian Pronunciation course and a few of his videos that are part of the Accelerator Course and now am on the last course Understanding Spoken Russian. I am still loving learning Russian because of Marks unique teaching methods. All free of charge so far and I can’t wait to start on his Accelerator course! The learning is extremely interesting, varied and no rules and tables to even think of- the grammar part of the language just comes along organically as one proceeds through the courses. If you want to learn Russian I will say “look no further” and go to Mark Thompson’s courses. Start with his free courses unless you are a gifted learner unlike me. I supplement my learning looking at various You Tube videos but so far as teaching Russian, there is no teacher I have found that understands how to teach as well as Mark does in a simple, effective, stimulating, interesting and jargon-free way. You will not be disappointed! Thank you Mark.

This course finds an amazing balance between entertainment and practicality. I initially tried learning Russian using apps, and college textbooks, which do a decent job of laying the groundwork for grammar, but don't hold a candle to the quality of this course. My progress never seems to hit a wall since there are numerous ways the course guides you through learning new words/phrases and reusing previously learned words/phrases. I never thought I had the ability to learn a new language but this course has restored confidence in my ability to do so! It goes great with the Russian Made Easy podcast that is free to listen to.

The experience feels very personal as well, since you maintain weekly communication with the creator of the course in order to advance after sending your answers for the end of Unit quizzes.

I am so glad I got this course it will be worth every penny. His teaching style is so simple, but so effective. I tried learning russian on my own for at least 6 months and really couldn't understand well, or form basic sentences though I attained a large vocabulary. I'm only 3 units in and the progress I've made is unbelievable. I can actually understand some spoken russian now and can narrate simple things throughout my day. I gave it 5 stars but if they managed to make a game sort of app to go with each unit for practice it'd be 10/5, that is probably the only thing it's missing. I use duolingo to fill that, but I'd love to have an exercise app to go withwhat we learned in each unit. Even maybe printable fill in the blank worksheets? Most everything is audio or video which is more effective for learning anyway, just takes more focus and dedicated time to study. I have no doubt I will be conversational by the end of the course!

A fabulous course - well paced, with plenty of opportunities to consolidate and practice vocabulary and grammar. Vocabulary and phrases taught are very useful and relevant for everyday conversations. I appreciate the way Mark teaches grammar so clearly, in manageable, sequential lessons. The media centre is also a great resource to listen to native speakers using the things learned in the lessons in real TV shows, in bite-sized chunks. I am thoroughly enjoying learning Russian through this course!

Mark is hands down the best teacher on the planet!! As your average English monoglot, I didn't think I would be able to learn another language, I didn't think I had the drive and I thought it would be a gruelling, unpleasant experience. Never mind learn a language that is said to be as difficult as Russian.Well let me tell you, Russian is not a hard language to learn, in fact I dont think any language in the world is difficult, it all depends on how it is taught. Mark makes it fun and natural, especially grammar, grammar is hated by most, but Mark teaches it so well, you pick up these 'complex' grammar patterns with ease! Mark also has two free courses which I reccomend you to do first, as they are free and teach an awful lot, these are called Russian alphabet mastery - Cyrillic in 3 hours, and russian made easy. If you complete these first you will know the entire russian alphabet, and have a small vocabulary of about a few hundred words, and know the main russian grammar points! Mark's way of teaching is one of a kind, and I dont think I could of ever learnt a language without this course. I am not scared to say you will learn more here than you would at a university course!! He literally makes it so fun, natural and engaging that ANYONE can do it. Seriously this course is an absolute steal, it is truly worth THOUSANDS, the knowledge I have gotten from it is priceless!! Go get his 2 free courses which you can download as an app and see how Mark teaches, see how easy and fun it is, then when you have completed those it's time to get russian accelerator, I promise it may be one of the best if not the best decision of your life!

This is the best and most comprehensive language course I've ever taken. The lessons are very well laid-out, and the method of instruction makes learning and retaining the information easy. I've only been doing this course for a couple of months and I can already hold up a decent conversation in Russian. The value for money here is fantastic. Not only do you get lifetime access to the lessons so you can go back and review when necessary, but you get personalized assistance as well. I emailed Mark a question about verbs and he responded within the hour, then went out of his way to send me follow-up examples later that day. It's obvious that he actually cares that the people taking his course are learning and succeeding. He also adds new features to the course so you have even more learning resources. I would 100% recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn Russian.

Russian Accelerator is by far the best "paid" course I have ever taken. I completed the 18 Unit at a relatively slow pace, to make sure that I was mastering all the elements of each unit, as well as the vocabulary associated. The way Mark explains the intricacies of the Russian grammar, makes this course even more effective. Because he uses a simple way to explain it throughout the course, I was able to retain all the cases before I even learned there were cases in the Russian grammar...
Russian Accelerator is my go-to reference when I need to refresh my memory and/or review specific grammar points. I live now in Russia, and because of Mark and his method, I am able to communicate fluently (without long pause) with native speakers and, most importantly, I am being understood by them.
I just did a quick review of all my notes and flashcards from Russian Accelerator, and I am now ready to tackle Russian Accelerator II with excitement.
Thank you Mark and your team for the greatest course on the market. You allowed me a successful life transition in acquiring a new language.

As an American who has always been frustrated with the lack of emphasis on foreign languages in our education system, I was skeptical to have a better experience when I set out to learn Russian on my own.

Not only was I surprised, I was blown away by the ease in which Mark and the Russian Accelerator team work to ease English speakers into the new format of language and to praise us for recognizing patterns on our own. Not only does it assist with the literal learning of the language, but it builds confidence- the confidence that forces me to continue on a particularly difficult endeavor!

Everything I expected from my ideal language course. A calm voice, lots of native speakers, the perfect balance between new information and what you already know, different teaching techniques that make it actually easy to remember the hardest words.
Also, Russian grammar is said to be immense but Mark makes you forget it's grammar. You learn it the way a kid learns languages: by copying phrases and adopting the language's patterns without having to study tables. You do get all the information on cases, conjugations and declensions in the end but not before it's become a habit to use them. I remember studying Latin in high school: memorizing one pattern after another so we could recognize all the datives and ablatives in literature. This course does the complete opposite as it eases you into Russian in a very gentle way.
The support team is very committed and will solve any question you may have in no time. And of course you can send your exercises and recordings to the native speakers for feedback.

After completing Mark's Russian Made Easy podcast, I was convinced that he was the right teacher to take me through the process. I'm only a couple of weeks in but the course is excellent. I've tried Pimsleur, Rocket Languages, Duolingo and more, but none of them strike the right balance between repetition and actual learning like Russian Accelerator. The sections are split up cleverly and each time I log in, I feel like I'm actually learning things and building on prior concepts and words. It's a tough language, but Mark makes it easier. Five stars

Thanks to this course I now speak Russian. The way you're going to get the most out of it is definitely by taking Mark's advice on construction branching and doing the homework He prescribes after each lesson.

Take your time with it. All the lessons are very methodical and well laid out.

I've done both the Russian accelerator and Russian accelerator II course.

I didn't know a lick of this language at all a year ago. and now I'm pretty much an intermediate speaker And can have basic conversations with some of my co-workers who speak the language. Every time I talk to them they always looked at me surprised like "God damn, how did you learn this? ?!"

The best thing about the course is the way he teaches you the grammar.

I have an upcoming stay in a small village in Moldova for a month. I was desperate to learn Russian but found the formats of other programs too complicated and difficult. I needed a program where repetition was possible and word pronunciation is slow enough for me to distinguish the sounds. Russian Accelerator and Russian Made Easy fit that criteria. Starting us off with easy cognates made learning seem easy. Additionally, the Power Phrases help me remember the words and the cumulative review helps get them into long-term memory. I had given up hope of learning Russian until I found this program. Thank you, Mark, for your courses!

Russian Accelerator Rocks! I also finished Mark's free Russian Made Easy podcast then tried Russian Accelerator. If you are reading this and did the podcast then have no doubt, R. Accelerator is next level stuff. For me, thanks to Mark's teaching, Russian went from kind of impossible to get a hold on to.. "Hmm maybe I can actually do this..." and finally to where my Russian co-worker was actually impressed and I impressed myself really. Trust your gut on this one and go for it. Big fan here. Hats off to Mark and crew.

I first did the 30 free podcasts and the podcast in which you learn the Cyrillic alphabet. Then I found out about this advanced course and bought it.
Mark's method is different than other people or programs try to teach but it works. It is fun and somehow it sticks. I never thought I would learn Russian but he makes it fun to learn.

I also thought it was very reasonably priced if you look at how many lessons you get plus you have lifelong access to the program. To get lessons from a live Tudor would be super expensive in comparison.
I met a few Russians by now and even went to Russia recently, I tried my Russian and got not only compliments for using proper grammar but also for learning it so well online. I am so glad I started this course and stuck with it. Thanks Mark!
