We are a group of friendly, expert, optical practices who have served our communities in South East London, North Kent and Surrey for decades.

The clinical reputation and range of services offered by Woodfalls has continued to grow, our success has been due to our committed optometrists, fully qualified dispensing and contact lens opticians, optical assistants and a team of dedicated support staff.
Our practices are fully equipped with the latest in optical equipment and all of our branches offer specialist services. We have the latest OCT (optical coherence tomography) machines at all six sites, we now also offer Optomap scanning, plus The Hearing Care Partnership to provide all things audiology.
As an independent group of opticians we dedicate the time necessary to ensure our customers receive the best care and advice. We work closely with our clinical partners to ensure we focus on our local communities and provide the very best clinical care.

Friendly but professional
As someone with a complex prescription who has had eye surgery for extreme short sight and with a family history of glaucoma I need regular checks of different kinds. Woodfall's is a friendly but professional opticians. I never feel rushed, I can ask any questions I may have and follow up by phone if necessary. They also have the most up to date testing equipment.

As per usual I have always received the best care and treatment at R Woodfall.
I have been a patient for over 23yrs I move from Sydenham to Camberwell , moving my local Opticans did not decrease the high level of expertise provide by the amazing staff. Very happy with this company

Friendly and very helpful
Love that they send a reminder when my eye test is due and also the day before my appointment (just in case)
Very friendly and helpful staff on reception, always a big smile and a hello when I arrive. Quick to respond to requests for a prescription to be emailed. Always looks spotless.
The optometrist was very gentle and ensured I was positioned correctly and comfortably throughout the eye exam. Very happy to recommend.

High quality and experienced staff
I switched to R Woodfall in East Dulwich recently and I must say that I had a very pleasant experience - from booking my appointment, seeing the reception staff, my check up with the optician, choosing my new glasses and my follow up check up. The optician spotted a scar at the back of my eye that had previously be missed by high street opticians! And she looked into it further and reassured me about it. I can’t recommend R Woodfall enough- excellent service.

Terrible opticians
Terrible opticians. Measured me wrongly for my glasses is I couldn't see. Made me wait for a week before they would accept they made a mistake and agreed to redo the glasses. The manager is impolite. Long delay each time. No apology. The glasses have never been right. Now I find out they didn't even use a protective coating as I requested, so they are scratched. Had to get a new pair. Do not go to this opticians.

Hi Alison, thank you for your review, and although we want all of our customers to be happy with our service, disappointingly this is not always the case. We do however value all feedback, good or bad.
However, your feedback states your visit was this year, having reviewed your notes, we can see you were dispensed spectacles in August 2023 where we remade your glasses in an attempt to resolve your issues, the lenses were supplied with a top of the range scratch resistant anti-reflection coating from our lens supplier Essilor. These coatings are provided with a 2 year warranty, therefore we can still replace the lenses as per your consumer rights.
We are also sorry you feel the manager was impolite, you did in fact see three different dispensing opticians during this time. All of which regularly receive high praise for their exemplary service.
Regarding any lead times, we are, as any optical supplier at the mercy of our lens manufacturer, your notes however do not appear to indicate there was an excessive wait for the lenses to be supplied, therefore if you feel there was a delay, once again we apologise for this.
On the rare occasion we need to remake spectacles, we always offer an apology, and we are again sorry if you did not receive one on this occasion, this is most unusual.
We are more than happy to resolve your issues, the lenses can be replaced under the manufacturers warranty, please either call the branch on 020 8299 6622, or email feedback@rwoodfallgroup.co.uk where we can arrange a suitable resolution either in East Dulwich or at another of our branches if more convenient for you.
