Really poor service, table booked at 2pm, finally seated at 2.35pm after prompting. If I’d have turned up half an hour late would that have been acceptable?
Food order finally taken at 2.45pm, garlic bread turned up in good time, however no plates to eat it off!
Price of a bottle of 330ml Moretti £4.75!
12.5% discretionary service charge added to the bill!
Overpriced and average at best, definitely not one to be repeated.

Very disappointing, having visited the Manchester restaurant many times and loved it was really looking forward to my meal. This was the first visit since lock down and couldn't believe the difference, the food was very mediocre and expensive, a big increase on our last visit. Indifferent waiter service, all the previous waiting staff who were experienced and very attentive seem to have gone replaced by younger Indifferent staff. The restaurant was nearly empty which we found odd as it was always extremely busy but if our experience is now the norm perhaps not surprising.

Rude - bored staff - almost reluctant to take your order. In fact he tutted whilst I decided. Chips on wine glass dirty linen. Slow service - almost shouting across the room to order an additional drink. Absolutely no
interest in its guests. Complaint logged but obviously no response. Disappointing.

Warm drinks. Lower than average food.
The sanitary bins in all cubicles were jarred open, sanitary waste on the floor and all round in an unhygienic and poor state. The main area of the restrooms (where the sinks etc. are) was equally as bad. Paper towel bins overflowing, so much so the floor around the bin was covered in used towels from previous guests. As you can see in both pictures I have attached – the floor itself wasn’t clean. It was sticky and dirty – when I say my shoes literally stuck to it as I walked on it, I’m not exaggerating.
After raising a complaint directly to HQ, all I got was an apology.

Top food , great atmosphere, well priced

We’ve eaten at SC in Manchester a few times now and its always brilliant. The food is incredible with fantastic service to match. The portions are a great size and its very reasonably priced given that you can watch your food being cooked from scratch in the open plan kitchen. The restaurant is tightly packed with tables but doesn’t feel like you’re sitting on top of other diners. One of our favourite places to head to in Manchester!

Over rated and over priced. Small portions too, you are sitting shoulder to shoulder with other tables. I had an upset stomach after eating as well.

Food very nice service poor 3 half’s of lager £10.80 very overpriced over all poor service when you are paying that kind of money you would at least be offered pepper or a waiter or waitress ask you if your meal is okay only thing that come quick was the bill 👎won’t be going again lots of nicer places to go was going to give a tip but decided to give it to the poor bloke outside in a wheelchair instead

One of my favourite restaurants! love love love the atmosphere, love the staff and the food is always knock out.

Went to San Carlo's in Leicester yesterday for my friends 30th Birthday,

Food was nice, But they made us pay for the meals first because apparently we had a table more than 6 people and the bill already exceeded £200

Seems we we're the only people in the restaurant to have to do this ?

For this reason we won't be returning

Went to this restaurant with my girlfriend.

The food was very slow and was not to usual standard. This was not such a big issue. The issue was the parking ticket I received from the hotel. Tried to charge me 100 pound!

Took this up with the restaurant and they said I should not have to pay as you were dining!. Gave them all the information and they said they would sort it. Had to do this 3 tomes and they still didn’t sort it. Now I have to go to citizens advice to resolve it! All because they were hideously slow with their food.

We booked for my daughters 16th birthday...On arrival for our 7.15pm booking, we were told the table wasn't ready and to wait at the bar. We ordered 3 mocktails but we were told by the bar tender that one of the mocktails we wanted was rubbish and refused to serve us with our chosen choice so gave us a different one which was nasty!
We eventually got seated at 8pm, crammed in like sardines. Menu sounded lovely starters came which were really nice, the atmosphere was very very loud!. Our mains where ok. Pizzas where nothing spectacular but nice. My husbands lobster ravioli had a long hair in it and we never received one of our sides but we was charged for it.
Staff seemed in a rush all the time, a bit arrogant, slow fetching drinks out and the bill etc. All in all an OK visit. Nothing special considering the publicity it gets would have got a better meal and service at Pizza Hut!

Arrogance of the staff absolutely shocking. An absolute disgrace to be honest.

Stick your Lasagne where the sun shines

Appalling. Avoid....unless you are 1) known to staff, 2) a footballer, 3) appear to have money, 4) want to be treated like something that would be put out with the bins. We arrived just before our booking time. On the door the staff were abrupt until we said we had a booking. The reception staff
- seemingly it takes three people to stare at screen, gossip, ignore, decide whether you are considered acceptable to dine here.
We moved to the bar which was buzzing with activity, with a pleasant atmosphere (thankfully) not over-run or packed, staff were a little bit slow on the uptake once galvanised into action three staff made our drinks. When other staff become available they checked if we were being served.
The maitre d', or Mãnel without a personality or capability, routinely returned to the bar to ask how many were in the people were in your group & then promptly walk away & empty tables, remove glasses elsewhere.
Guests who had arrived after us were seated before us. Initially we didn't notice this, why would we it's not our responsibility? As time continued to pass, & we still weren't seated we approached reception. The sneering response was simply it was not their responsibility, without any alternative being offered. Eventually we were taken to our table. We were shoe-horned amongst other tables, almost joining other diners, at least they had food. Menus were given out, no offer to take a drink order was made. We waited for another torturous period before another member of staff came to take our food order. In the meantime due to the position of our table one of our party was constantly bumped into by staff & guests - akin to a pinball machine - such a thrill! We asked three members of staff (shortly after being seated, once when staff walked past, when we placed our order) to be relocated. We received a feeble response stating they only had two tables for two people each. Great that's what we want, a table for four! Of course we weren't offered an alternative position because they had overbooked. When we asked the waiter how long the food would take we were met with laughter. They couldn't say & weren't prepared to seek out clarification. At this point we decided to leave, a throw away 'Sorry' was offered. If they were sorry they would have attempted to resolve the issues, of which there were many.

Food substandard compared to other well know places. Lobster had been ruined with sauce, meat from claws removed before arrival which seemed like there was meat actually missing. The sauce was split. Branch oxford road and flooring was what you may see in a gym's shower room a cheap one. Tables too close, staff wasnt interested when told them the food wasnt great. Expected a little more refinery for the price but felt like a gathering spot for teens night out. No thanks, not for anyone looking for a refined, nice meal. Their customer service skills are poor and treat people like second class citizens if they dare to give poor feedback and dont think they should do anything other then say come again and we will try better, which is not good enough for a meal for 2 which cost over 200 pounds. There a loads of fantastic places to eat in Manchester and this is not one of them. Dont waste your money thinking it will be special.
