Todas las reseñas negativas que podéis leer de ellos son ciertas. Llevo cientos de vehículos alquilados por todo el mundo y es el primer problema que tengo en mi vida. Si no vas a contratar el insurance cover con ellos, NO ALQUILES AQUÍ. Cuando devuelves el coche, tienen una nota de dónde buscar un rasguño, que en muchos casos ni se ve y te cobran el daño. Si has contratado a través de intermediario, éste te reembolsa el cargo (por más que he intentado que reclamen contra ellos, no ha habido manera). También he probado a denunciarles a la oficina de consumo de Ljubliana, pero he terminado por desistir.
What an awful company
What an awful company! The staff at the pick up in Ljubljana were rude and unhelpful. I returned the car in perfect condition, but they later claimed there was a superficial scratch. My photos do not show a scratch. They charged me $467, which at first I refused to pay on principle. It was such an obvious scam. I finally paid because I had rental insurance through Rental Cover - whatever you do - don't rent from this company.

Mi experiencia con Sixt Ljubljana ha sido muy negativa y coincide con lo que otros muchos clientes describen aquí. Al devolver el coche, me reclamaron 240 € por un rasguño mínimo en la pintura, apenas perceptible, del que no tengo constancia de haber sido responsable.
En la recogida no se me indicó ningún daño en esa zona y siempre aparqué en lugares seguros. El proceso de reclamación fue frustrante: envío de correos, fotos y explicaciones, sin que en ningún momento me mostraran pruebas claras de que el daño se produjo durante mi alquiler.
Tengo la sensación de que es una práctica sistemática: daños previos menores que no se anotan y que luego se cobran al siguiente cliente. En Google Maps figuran con un 3,9/5 (donde muchas reseñas negativas desaparecen) mientras que en Trustpilot tienen un 1,9/5 con decenas de casos casi idénticos.
Recomiendo documentar todo con fotos y vídeo y considerar empresas locales como Avant Car o ATET para evitar este tipo de experiencias.
Estafadores al descuido
Es la primera vez que tenemos una incidencia al alquilar el vehículo en más de 30 años. Nos cobraron por un rasguño superficial en la pintura que no habíamos hecho 240€. En Ljubliana estacion de tren. Viendo reseñas vemos que es una practica habitual. Evitarlos a toda costa.
Stay away from Sixt
We’ve been renting cars worldwide for over 30 years, and never have we had such a poor experience as with Sixt at Ljubljana Airport.
The employee who handled the return was unprofessional, visibly stressed, and overwhelmed by the number of customers returning cars at the same time. She was short-tempered with us and others, and the entire process nearly made us miss our flight – in part due to Sixt’s late office opening hours.
To make matters worse, more than two weeks after our holiday ended, we were sent a charge for a scratch on a wheel cover. This was despite having received a return receipt confirming that the vehicle was in perfect condition at drop-off.
The provided photos even show mud on the tires – a clear indication that the car had been used by someone else after us, as we had it washed immediately after refueling on the morning of our return.
Moving forward, we will only rent from Avis and Hertz – and stay far away from this fraudulent company.
Claimed we caused damage when we didn’t.

We rented a car from Sixt in Lake Bled, Slovenia, and the experience was a nightmare from start to finish. When we picked up the car (in heavy rain), the agent told us that because we added an additional driver, we’d be given zero excess cover for free. We were also told we’d only need to pay €55 for the fuel on return — simple and clear, or so we thought.
The car inspection was rushed — the staff barely looked at the car. During the rental, we hardly used it, mostly staying around Lake Bohinj due to the weather.
We returned the car to Ljubljana Airport, following instructions to leave it in the car park. Then came the emails:
First, we were charged €73 without explanation.
Then, we were told we’d caused damage to the underside of the car — which is ridiculous, considering how little we drove it.
While still at the airport, we asked staff to show us the damage. A worker got under the car and said he couldn’t see anything wrong.
Later, we were told the €73 was for the “free” zero-excess cover (a complete lie) — they removed that charge… but then billed us £233 for damage we absolutely did not cause.
This company is dishonest, with hidden charges, misleading promises, and false damage claims. We feel completely scammed and are warning others to avoid Sixt.
Avoid!
Avoid!! We had a good experience pre booking online however once we'd returned the car we were met with fake 'damage' reports and extra charges that we were unaware of and had not been explained to us. It's such a shame because we thought Sixt was a reliable company to book with and having a car in Slovenia is really handy but clearly even a reputable company in Slovenia isn't reliable so I think if we visited again we would have to use public transport.
Une expérience très décevante
J’avais réservé une voiture (Fiat 500) avec une assurance complémentaire, spécialement pour réduire la franchise à 300 € en cas de dommages. À mon arrivée, l’employé a fait une erreur et m’a remis un véhicule d’une catégorie supérieure, et a, au passage, supprimé l’assurance que j’avais souscrite. J’ai même payé un supplément pour ce "surclassement", en pensant, comme n’importe qui, que mon assurance resterait valable.
Résultat, au retour du véhicule : on me réclame 1 334,80 €, sans prendre en compte l’assurance que j’avais bel et bien payée. Quand j’ai contacté leur service client, je n’ai reçu que des réponses automatiques, froides, qui éludent complètement le vrai problème : jamais on ne m’a informée de la suppression de mon assurance au moment du changement. On m'avait même confirmé (à l'oral certes) que cela ne changerait rien.
Cela ressemble fortement à un piège bien rôdé pour faire payer plus les clients, sous couvert d’une mauvaise communication interne et d’un manque total de transparence.
Si on m’avait dit clairement que changer de véhicule entraînerait une responsabilité de plus de 1 000 €, je n’aurais jamais accepté la location.
Je recommande vivement aux futurs clients de tout vérifier par écrit et de ne pas se fier aux paroles du comptoir, aussi rassurantes soient-elles.
Déçue, frustrée, et malheureusement… pas surprise.
Excellent Customer Service & Best Cars
Thanks to their excellent service I'm a returning customer for the 3rd time!!. They are very customer oriented/friendly from the reservation management to the company desk clerks and drivers. and offer always the best cars - well maintained. Their price is much attractive than other Car Rental Companies.
I highly recommend SIXT SLOVENIA for anyone in need of a reliable, professional, and customer-friendly rental service. I will definitely use them again for future travel!
Costly and bad service
Explanation of what the damage waiver covers, which frankly was ridiculously priced, differs online Vs in store. Online it says everything is covered, in store they said wheels and glass were not and that'd be another €50 to cover it. They also try and upsell all sorts such as "cheaper" fuel. Pretty uninterested staff. I bought the damage waiver and returned the car with a full tank and no wheel or glass damage yet ended up with a €12 payment required, no need explanation as to what... Waiting to hear back from sixt to understand what that charge is!
Sad for this brand: Scam in Slovenia.
They claimed 2 scratches on the doors. I went back to Sixt in the evening and made a video as an evidence, I requested their professional photos from the scratches their eyes see, but they said, they have no photos as an evidence.
Sadly this reliable name is a scam in Slovenia. I hope I will solve the problem without consumer rights support nor legal steps. Someone must stop this gang to scam people in beautiful Slovenia!
PS: I couldnt find any scratches on the doors.
Hands down the worst car rental…
Hands down the worst car rental experience I’ve ever had. SIXT handed me a car that, days after I returned it, they claimed I had damaged — with absolutely no time- or date-stamped photos of the interior areas they later said were scratched. Just a generic inspection form and some exterior shots. No proof the so-called damage wasn’t there before I picked the car up.
They claimed I was responsible for a V-shaped scratch on the inner door sill, which looked more like someone had deliberately scraped it with a key. Not only did I not cause the damage — I hadn’t even used the back seats! Despite raising this repeatedly and disputing the charge, they tried to push through a €550 bill, only backing down slightly after multiple emails.
Their responses were clearly templated, robotic, and totally dismissive. Customer service? Non-existent. If this is how they treat honest customers, I dread to think what happens to someone who genuinely has an issue mid-rental.
Avoid at all costs. I’ll never use SIXT again, and I’d strongly advise anyone else to think twice before booking with them. There are plenty of rental companies who don’t try to squeeze you for damage you didn’t cause.
Never again
My coach to Koper was running late so I got there at 2.50pm rather than 2.30. the rental was due to close at 3, but when I got there they had already locked up. Thankfully the staff were still in their car so saw me, however had they left, and this was before closing and without contacting me then I would have been left stranded in Koper overnight. They then rushed through showing me the car so that I was unable to have a thorough check.
I was dropping the car off at Ljublana train station. Due to construction, I did not realise that the drop off point had changed and I therefore ended up panic driving in circles, I tried to ring Sixt, however it would not go through to a person, and had to drive to the airport where they gave me the instructions, this was not on the door of the rental at the station. This then meant that I was almost 3 hours late to drop off the car and had missed being able to have an in-person inspection on returning the car and had impacted on being able to see Ljubljana as I was leaving in the early morning.
I had accidentally damaged the right wing mirror (as a UK resident used to driving on the right), which I accept the damages for, however they then charged me for 2 further damages which were barely visible and which I do not believe which I did. One was in a place which I would definitely not have spotted at all in the pre inspection, and both looked like wear and tear.
They charged 677€, over 400€ of which were for these absolutely tiny marks. Whilst I did have separate insurance to cover excess, I still find this disgusting as it felt as though they were using the fact that I did damage the car, to claim additional repairs at extortionate costs.
I tried to dispute the claim, however there was no fair process and any time I requested to see photos from before the pick up of the areas they identified, they did not send these or acknowledge this request in their response and continued to request the money. I ultimately had to pay due to the timeframe of my insurance and threats of court action.
I will absolutely not be using Sixt again as the whole experience from pick-up, drop off and unfair charges was horrendous.

Same as everyone else on here, hired the car it which was wet o the outside as it was really foggy and they had not dried it off after cleaning. Literarily took car to house parked it in driveway for the week , returned car they could not be bothered to check it, next day they emailed said i had caused a small scratch and i had 10 days to send evidence. They obviously want to see if i had video of the bodywork on collection which i did not. So along comes a bill of 280 eu. I have excess insurance but SIXT at LJU Airport are a scam do not use them.

Ensuite impossible de trouver la voiture réservée Toute petite cabane à peine éclairée à 2 kms dans un environnement désert La voiture ne correspond pas à la catégorie demandée
Le pire est au retour Refus de l employé de faire le constat de restitution en notre présence Mon mari a insisté pour qu il voit qu il n y avait aucun dommage
2 jours plus tard mail pour dire qu une égratignure a été constatée sur le pare -choc et un petit éclat sur la portière avec de pauvres photos tirées d une caméra vidéo
Une semaine plus tard une facture à régler de 987 euros !

On me donne une voiture mouillee et plusieurs rayures et rétroviseur cassé..visibilité dangereuse....au retour l employée va direct sur un léger " grattage "de 3 cm sur la tranche de la portière ! je suis certaine de n'avoir rien touché ...elle n'a rien voulu entendre...expertise en cours...en effet ça semble prémédité
