Brazen fraud

Brazen fraud! Stay away. We rented a new car, not by choice, returned it in good order. We were told by email that two 2cm scratches were found on the wheels. I had insured the car for body damage, the wheels alas were not covered. Ok, agreed to pay 250 euro extra.
Then two invoices arrived from a garage where supposedly a mechanic removed the wheels for an inspection of the scratches! Each invoice was for 250 euro. We must pay in 10 days or they start proceedings. They threaten, their explanations in bad English make no sense. They are fishing for extra $. After I paid the first bill theyosted on my credit card, I received an invoice for another 1.600 euro, again with threats. I ignored these obvious attempts to make an extra buck. Haven’t heard from them again. Ljubljana airport Sixt operates a shady extortion operation.
They are giving their beautiful country a bad name.

Probleme SIXT aeroport LJUBJANA

Bonjour, je reviens de Slovenie après une location chez SIXT aéroport de Ljubljana ; après avoir effectué le retour du véhicule je reçois dans les jours qui suivent un rapport pour une rayure à l’arrière et un impact sur le capot achat (noté "dégât lié à la grêle") il s'avere qu'il y a eu une forte averse de grele sur Ljubjana 2 jours après la location mais j'avais aussitôt (étant présent à coté de la voiture) mis des couvertures sur toute la carrosserie et inspecté après => pas de dégât ; je réclame les photos et celles ci me sont envoyées ; les photos de mauvaises qualité ne traduisent pas cet impact et la rayure ne semble pas en etre une ; j 'ai engagé un recours mais j 'ai du signer un rapport pour m'expliquer ; je suis en attente desormais de la décision pour information le visite contradictoire à la prise du véhicule n'a pas ete faite ("il n y a aucun problème sur la voiture") et j 'ai inspecté le véhicule au retour sans que personne de chez SIXT ne m 'accompagne . Pour info les franchises sont de 800 E bien que j'a régler des assurances complementaire lors de la location L'absence d'état des lieux du véhicule avec cette compagnie de location à la prise du véhicule et au retour est donc un vrai problème (est ce légal d'ailleurs ?); j 'ai découvert sur plusieurs sites dont celui ci forum que choisir et 60 millions de consommateurs avec des déconvenues fréquentes dont la même que la mienne sur des réclamations de dommages de rayures; je déconseille donc fortement SIXT à l’aéroport de Ljubjana au regard de ces méthodes qui pourraient s'apparenter au mieux à un non professionalisme au pire à une arnaque Merci pour votre lecture et choisissez un autre loueur. Do not rent with Sixt Ljubljana

Falsely accused of causing scratches to the hire car. We sent them a video we took on drop-off, which shows there is no damage, and they didn't even download the link to review it before giving us a final decision that we were responsible.

I've never had this happen before with a car hire company before. Don't rent with them.

CROOKS/LIARS/SCAMMERS-AVOID!!!!!!

I am still owed 649 euros from when I returned back your car on the 12th April! They charges me twice for border crossings-denied it when despite showing them bank statements

The credit department lied about transferring back my holding deposit. I've had many emails claiming that's my banks fault. Halifax conformed that no transfer was ever made. Booking.com and Rental.com have been useless!! they have not made much effort, Booking.com keep on closing down my complaint despite its still unresolved

Also, damage department have suddenly appeared and claim that I caused very minor damages.

This is the worst car rental company I have ever experienced!!! They are useless, dishonest and incompetent to the highest degree to my belief

Sloppy service

I rented a car at the airport in Slovenia from the Sixt ( res code 9702289310). There was a long queue but this was not a main problem. The problem began with giving me a car with a damage but not reporting in the pre-investigation form.I was asked to sign pre-investigation form which reports the existing damages on the car BEFORE I saw the car. The damage was not in the report and I could notice this when I receive the car. I went back to office and two members of the staff said "do not worry. we will fix it". Another one said "I took the photo of the damage, I will put it on the system". When I returned the car, I again warned a member of staff that there had been a damage on the car which was not caused by my but not listed in the report. He said "do not worry. I am alone here. There is no staff to check".

2 days later I received an email from the damage department that I gave damage to the car and I should proof if it is not me giving the damage!!! Thankfully, I had taken a photo before getting on the car but then, I received another email showing more evidence!!!

Service is very sloppy, long queue, there is no enough number of staff and get ready to be cheated!!! You must sign every document and never trust!

STAY WELL CLEAR

STAY WELL CLEAR. over 6 months ago I had a car from these people. The car was damaged from the previous user, on the front. when I returned the car they initially claimed I had scratched the front then agreed that the damage was from the previous crash. Deposit was returned and as far as I was aware the case was closed. I now have a debt collector contact me out of the blue wanting money. these guys are crooks and conmen they sent me out with a damaged car and are now trying to charge me to fix someone else's damage. appalling behaviour and you should to avoid them at all costs.

Warning - fraud, scam and identity theft

Warning to everyone even slightly considering ever using Sixt’s services:

I rented a car in Sixt Ljubljana in 2021, where everything - seemed - to go through smoothly. I took great care of the car and I am a very cautious driver.
Subsequently, after handing in the car, the Sixt employee assured us that he found no damages to ours and that we could leave without further payments.
We thanked him and left, thinking everything was fine. However, this was just the beginning of the nightmare.
Six months later, I receive a fine from Sixt Ljubjana, with neither any elaboration nor any evidence, charging me more than 400 Euro.
I contact them on the phone and they refer me to their damage department email address. Eventually, I write Damage Department an email about the case, to which they never respond. Therefore, I naively think the case is over, as I no longer hear from them.
A year later, I suddenly received a letter from a Danish Debt collector, threatening me on behalf of Sixt Ljubljana.
I contact Sixt once again, both calling and writing emails and again being referred to their Damage Department.
They do not respond to several of the questions I ask, and the “evidence” they provide is just random pictures of the car, with no dates/time stamps, whatsoever. There is a small scratch on the aluminum rim of the front wheel on three centimeters, followed by a document with a damage report of the scratch, with “my” signature on it, addressing me as ‘Mr.’, despite that I am a woman and they saw me at their office.
This is called identity theft and contract fraud and I am appalled and shocked.
They didn’t respond to my last mail where I mention this either, which is highly suspicious as well.

Please do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company that will create hell in your life 1 ½ years after renting from them.

Absolutely appalling service

Absolutely appalling service, I was rushed and forced to sign agreement as they were shutting and charge me for additions I didn't want. I would not use Sixt again.
Even when escalated to Sixt head office there were still others arrogant as the staff in the local branch. Never use this company again

Watch out for this company

Watch out for this company. If you have to use it you need to pay super attention and make 100% sure about everything. Recently, I had a terrible experience with it. They made a really small scratch bigger so that they could claim on me. One more thing. The staff told us the car had a dent from previous use, but when I returned the car, the same staff claimed it was my fault. I regretted that I hadn't taken a picture earlier.

Small scratch on rim 2 mm X 6 cm cost us 1000 euros. Marked needs regulation!

Me and my girlfriend rented a new Wolkswagen Tiguan from SIXT Ljubjana in September of 2021 and drove around Balcan for a month. No harm was done to the car, when we handed in the car it had a tiny scratch on the left front rim of 0,2 X 6 cm.
We had only chosen their own insurance without window and rim coverage, and of course SIXT in the end wants 1000 euros for a tiny scratch, which is extremely out of proportions.
SIXT claims they have an objective third party to access the damage, but I am 100% sure it just themselves saying that. There is no mentioning of any specific third party company.
The problem is a marked that is not regulated. Like a doctor and dentist cannot ask 1000 euros for a small thing because they have strictly regulated charges for all services, the renting car company also needs to have stricter regulation on what they can charge on our microscopic scratch, but also in general.

They choose the degree of damage themselves, and they choose how they want to fix it. The auto shop has no regulation, they can just to do whatever they want. For that amount of money they have probably changed the entire wheel.

It is simply just a money machine, and they know it.

That is why they have brand new cars, so they easily can find new tiny scratches on it, and make you pay all out of proportions.
You cannot have privatized field where you can choose the damage and repair yourself. All renting car companies have 1,5 in average on Trustpilot (Avis, SIXT, Europcar and Hertz) which shows that it is broken, corrupt business, that needs to be regulated from EU.
You guys are simply trying to suck as much money out of any costumer as you can.

I hope some of you feel embarrassed by this.

But you probably will not even read this message, because you are so used to getting complains that it goes automatically to the spam filter.
That says everything about this business.

Entreprise de voleurs

Entreprise de voleurs, surfacture les clients.
Nous avons loué une voiture avec votre agence de Ljubljana en août dernier.
Lors de l'état des lieux de sortie, il y a avait une rayure sur la jante droite de la voiture de moins d'1.5 cm.
Aujourd'hui, votre société nous réclame 568.64 €, ne trouvez-vous pas ça un peu abusé ???
Personne ne répond aux emails et le service "damage" ne m'a toujours pas recontacté...
J'ai contacté l'entreprise qui devait faire les travaux, aucun travaux n'a été réalisé!

Première et dernière location avec cette entreprise qui vole ses clients

Foreign use = arnaque !

Location par internet à Ljubjana Slovénie.
Le + : La voiture, une capture, était dans un bon état et propre.
Les - : Par contre, peu de service : pas de vérification de la voiture ensemble, pas d'explication du fonctionnement de la voiture, de l'adresse de dépôt du véhicule (nous avons déposé la voiture à un autre endroit qu'à l'aller). Véritable galère pour trouver le parking derrière la gare, sans signalisation. Nous avons dû appeler deux fois l'agence.
Mais SURTOUT procédé malhonnête du "foreign use" (passage de frontière).
A l'agence, on nous dit juste qu'il faut téléphoner si on compte franchir la frontière sans mentionner un montant. Et naïves, nous ne demandons pas. Au moment de passer la frontière- un aller retour dans la journée- nous appelons et un employé mentionne le tarif de 9 euros (et quelques) pour une journée pour l'assurance. On accepte.
Au moment de déposer la voiture, on parle de ce montant, et l'employé, qui a du travail nous dit-il, nous confirme que c'est OK.
Je reçois ensuite un mail m'informant que je serai prélevée de 49 euros.
Retournant à l'agence, nous demandons des explications : l'employé baisse la tête, dit qu'il n'est pas responsable, qu'il faut envoyer une réclamation. En réalité c'est 9 euros par jour sur l'ensemble de votre location avec un forfait maximum de 49.
Voilà l'explication donnée après coup. N'est-ce pas malhonnête ?
La reponse à notre mail est vague et de mauvaise foi.
Donc attention à cette arnaque !

Fraud scheme

After end of car rental Return Checklist was signed with confirmation that no any damages. Month later Sixt sent me a letter about damage without anу evidences. As I know it happened in each case then a man does not take supercover unsurance.
Sixt Ljublana makes their business deceptive and fraudulent way - you can see a lot of similar comments in Google maps
