I’ve had my sodastream machine for over…
I’ve had my sodastream machine for over a decade. I make sparkling water 2-3 times a day. It’s so convenient to make it at home rather than buying cases of water and tossing out plastic. I’ve been buying the cartridges and recycling them the entire time. They make it easy to recycle empty co2 cylinders. And their costumer service is A++++.

I ordered a product that I thought was…
I ordered a product that I thought was made of glass but ended up being made of plastic. I emailed customer service my concern and their response was timely, and they were pleasant. Although due to some sanitary guidelines they could not accept my return but they promptly refunded my money no questions asked. Very good experience!
Exchange Policies Feel Like a Trap (Easy Money Grab?)
You get charged $15 per cartridges for not exchanging them in time in 90 days. If you aren't finished with them yet, you can call for an extension. I just got charged $60 for not returning 3 unused cartridges, but was told I will get that refunded IF I ASK THEM TO when I return them within 6 more months. Why did I order too many? I had to order (4) last time because they were out of the (2) packs. They don't care. Just take them to Target they say. Well the Target here has never had any in stock to exchange with us. Although we like the machine, we feel trapped in having to manage cartridge returns for fear of the insane $15 per cartridge late return fee, or having to call and make arrangements each time. Too many ifs, thens and buts. Happy with the machine but I don't have the time or interest to commit to addressing the cartridge return issues every 90 days.
Empty refill support
I have been using SodaStream for several years, and a few times in the last year one of the cylinders sent to me in exchange has been empty, or nearly so. The first time was unfortunate because it was the last one I had, so I went without for a bit until the company could send another. Since then, I check the weight of them all when they arrive, so that I can deal with it quickly. Somehow, I have ended up with 6 cylinders that I rotate through. The most recent refill arrived with one that is half the weight of the others, so I contacted SodaStream online and left a message, with a photo of the UPC. The next day I received a note telling me that they will replace the cylinder immediately. The response was both prompt and courteous.

I had an issue with a return cylinder package. I reached out, they confirmed the issue was on their end and immediately fixed it. They also provided me a way to avoid that issue in the future by providing my return receipt to a help email address.

I have called for customer support a couple of times and I have received exceptional service. My deliveries are always on time and returning the canisters is really easy. I’m very happy with this service.

I've been using my SodaStream Terra daily for a little more than a year. It's compact and reliable, and I really like the quick connect CO2 tank and bottle. I have a subscription for tank refills, which means I always have one on hand. This month, I was charged for not returning my tanks on time, even though I had returned them within the time allowed. Fortunately, I had noted the tracking number on the USPS mailing label and could confirm the packaged had been delivered on time. I contacted Customer Service and they refunded the late charge without any hesitation. Overall, I've had a very positive experience with both the product and Customer Service.
Charged but will refund
Levi emailed me to explain that when I return the 3 canisters, I will be refunded the 49 dollars my credit card was charged. I had thought that I would have to pay that because I was late sending the canisters back.
I received a very complete, thoughtful and nuanced response to my question.
I asked a substantive and nuanced question about why SoddStream was now asking me for the first time to include the small plastic colored caps with my returned cylinders. Within a couple of days I received a thoughtful, thorough and apparently informed response. I wasn't sure if this excellent response was from a perfected AI algorithm, or from a thoughtful and informed human being, either one of which used the name of "Nichole". In any event I'm thankful.

Fantastic customer service
Their customer service has been fantastic. We had purchased some CO2 refills through Amazon, and when we returned those, we should have received a gift card. However, the gift card didn’t arrive. When I contacted their customer service, they were able to send a gift card immediately. We also have had trouble in the past with a faulty CO2 container and they replaced it for free.
Great product, great service
I love my SodaStream! I can make small bottles of my grandkids' favorites, Fanta and Starry (sugar-free, which you can't find in most stores), so there's very little waste. And I can make sugar-free Pepsi with sucralose instead of aspartame (yuck). Because we're slow to use up the CO2 cylinders due to our need for small bottles, I couldn't get the delivered cylinders empty in the allotted time. The SodaStream customer service was great in helping me figure out what to do, responding quickly and coming up with some good alternatives.

Customer service is great if you have any issues
SodaStream does try to make the process of tank exchange as easy as possible. I get 4 tanks every 3 months and have had a subscription for a couple of years. My few concerns/annoyances are they aren’t great at tracking when you send the tanks back. They give you a period of time to return them before they charge you for keeping the tanks. I have always returned them within the time period, but they don’t always change it in the system, so I will occasionally get charged for them. I do have to reach out and message them, in which case they don’t give any trouble, accept fault and give back a refund for the accidental charge. Just annoying to have to keep track that I’m not getting charged.
Another issue is a handful of times out of the past two years, I have had some tanks that don’t work well (something to do with how it seals to the machine) Again, all you have to do is reach out to customer service and they fix the issue.
Customer service is great, they normally get back to you and resolve the issue within 48 hours.
For those two reasons, particularly the first reason, is why I give four stars. But overall, this is a great company, I highly recommend them, I don’t know a better company for CO2 tank exchanges. Just wish they would fix these two things. Other than those 2 issues, I would say SodaStream is perfect.
