Having had the systems installed for a year now, I can confidently say that I’m very happy with it. Start Solar has been brilliant from discussing design options to aftercare support. I would (and have) recommended them to friends.

When I began researching solar panels, I spoke with several companies. Most were very good and similarly priced, with a few exceptions, but Solar Star came highly recommended by a friend.

From the very start, the sales team, particularly Louisa, were knowledgeable, helpful, and, most importantly, there was absolutely no hard sell. The approach was simply: "This is what we can do, this is what it costs, and we're here to help, but the decision is yours."

As someone who is far from an expert, I asked plenty of basic questions, and every one was answered quickly and clearly. I was also made aware that certain aspects, such as the grid application process, were outside Solar Star's control. Even so, they kept me regularly updated and let me know whenever they followed things up.

The installation and scaffolding teams were friendly, efficient, and left everything clean and tidy afterwards. They were also happy to explain what they were doing throughout the installation, which helped me better understand the system.

A small but memorable touch: after we supplied the team with plenty of orange juice (other drinks were available!), they even offered to replace it for us by popping to the shops. Completely unnecessary, but a great example of the customer service we received.

Overall, I'm extremely impressed with both the service and the installation. I would have no hesitation in recommending Solar Star to anyone considering solar panels.

Now, if I can convince my wife, air conditioning might be next on the list... although it may be easier to ask for forgiveness than permission!

Had 24 panels and tesla battery installed in early June. All of the installation team were brilliant, very professional and very hard working. Very pleased with the system and the neat installation.
Solar Star are clearly flat out and have a very slick system.

Only comment is that it would be nice to have a technical site survey at the quote stage to understand where everything will be sited. However I can understand that given the competitive nature of the business this is not always practical. The installation team will also have the experience to sort most things at the time.

Would definitely recommend them and so nice to be able to use a local company.

After a lot of research, I decided to use Solar Star Power, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision.

A huge thank you to Louisa, who was fantastic throughout the whole process. She was always happy to answer my many questions, never put me under any pressure, and took the time to explain everything clearly. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and her knowledge and customer service were first class.

The installation team were equally impressive. They arrived on time, worked incredibly hard, on one of the hottest days of the year in baking sun, and completed a very neat and professional installation. The quality of the workmanship is excellent, and they left everything clean and tidy when they finished.

What really stood out was the aftercare. There were a couple of small adjustments needed after the installation, and Solar Star Power came back promptly and resolved everything without any fuss. It’s reassuring to know they genuinely care about their customers even after the job is complete.

The system has exceeded my expectations. Watching the solar generation and seeing the savings already building has been brilliant, and it’s clear the advice I was given was tailored to what was best for my home rather than just making a sale.

From the initial contact with Solar Star the whole experience of having solar and battery storage has been fantastic. The initial consult with Emily lead to various options to achieve our end goal and any questions and tweaks were dealt with quickly and efficiently. We entered into the whole process with some trepidation but Emily answered all our queries with ease. The installation was booked as soon as relevant permissions were granted and the two install days involved saw the staff working very hard and respectfully of our property. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Solar Star to anyone interested in battery storage, solar panels or an EV charger.

Having initially asked two companies to quote for a solar install, I decided to ask a third company - Solar Star Power Ltd, and I'm glad I did.

I have had 15 panels installed, plus a Tesla Powerwall 3. Subsequently having a Tesla wall charger installed to replace my old untethered charger.

My initial contact was with Emily, who I have to say has been extremely communicative, supportive and helpful from day 1 and a pleasure to deal with. Even with some last minute changes, she was able to solve it with no fuss - brilliant!

As for the installation team (electricians and panel installers), as well as doing a first class job all round, they were a great group to deal with, which is commended.

In conclusion, having initially gone into this whole process with quite a bit of trepidation, I have come out the other end with nothing but praise for how Solar Star Power Ltd dealt with us - Excellent!

Domestic air conditioning retrofitting.
After the previous successful installation of solar panels and a tesla battery at our property we had the team back to install retrofitted air-conditioning into our property.
The knowledge of the team that attended (Ollie, Brad and Sean) was truly impressive with very little mess or dust being created during the install and most pipework being hidden in ceilings or within ducting.
The install has worked well with a quiet and efficient multi-split Toshiba Haori internal set up with a single external 7.5kw condenser which is not overpowering to look at all.
I can thoroughly recommend using Solar Star for Air Conditioning
retrofitting into a private dwelling and we are really pleased with the results, just in time for the hotter summer months.

Starting with the recommendation from Connor to dealing with Louisa at head office, the installation of a Tesla PW3 today by Dave, Vinny and Wilson; this was a brilliant experience. On top of that, the team found 4 solar panels not connected which they fixed. Recommended without reservation. Go here first and get a great quote and fantastic service

Recently had Solar Star Power install a 16 panel system with Sigenergy inverter and battery system. Overall very pleased, there were some niggles to sort following the install day but these were sorted quickly and without fuss.

They weren't the cheapest of quotes I had mind, but much preferred dealing with a local company rather than a national just to save a few quid.

Would happily recommend.

Solar Star (Kelly) provided me with a range of quotation options for various systems and discussed the benefits of each. Once we had agreed on a system they then sent a member of their roof team to physically go on the roof and measure, as other companies had given conflicting information on the number of panels that would fit on the roof. After this they sent their electrical team to do a survey and discuss cable runs and where the equipment could be placed. They were then flexible and set up the scaffolding a day early to allow me to arrange for a minor roof repair to be done prior. The quality of the workmanship is second to none. The system was explained clearly and the app set up.

In addition, the quotes were very competitive. I can’t recommend them enough. Thanks to everyone at Solar Star.

Communication with office staff was excellent. Everything was explained thoroughly. The installation was done to our timescales. The electricians and solar panel fitters were informative when they installed the system. They were "can do people". The whole process was efficient, quick, and ran smoothly from beginning to end. There was no hard sell, which we really appreciated. We would highly recommend Solar Star Power.

Office staff always helpful and a technician who went far beyond the minimum in correcting the fault, giving advice and checking the next day that all was working well.

We were recommended this company by neighbours, both for competitive pricing and also the great customer service.
We requested a quotation and based on an initial site survey, some issues were found that needed discussion. A visit from their electrician soon resolved this and a quotation was made for different systems, with clear explanation of the benefits and deficits of each. Each time there was a change in the requirements, it was no problem for the team to reissue the quotation to us again.

Installation was booked for 08:30 on the 1st October and on the 30th September, we had a visit from one of the team to scope out the work. Polite, respectful and let us know what to expect.

08:27 on installation day and the teams arrived. Scaffolding put up quickly, installation teams worked tirelessly and every option was discussed with us - colour of conduit, location of power bank etc. Nothing was too much trouble and the teams went above and beyond to make the installation as non-intrusive as possible (for example, cables could have been run on the wall - instead, they were run through cavity walls which was harder work)

Everyone was tidy, polite, friendly (and appreciated the cakes) and the workmanship was absolutely perfect - even down to the fixings for the conduit being perfectly evenly spaced and everything being either dead horizontal or vertical. Problems were resolved without issue and deadlines were absolutely adhered to.

Would have no reservation in recommending the team to friends, family and anyone considering solar power. Great company that delivers quality work and product at a reasonable price. What more can I say?

Clear and easy to understand assessment. Follow up quotation provided quickly and with full information about the products recommended for our situation. No high pressure sales, these are not needed as they provide good service and quality products at a good price.
We had 18 solar panels on two aspects of roof, a solar battery storage, exporting meter and car charger fitted in one day. Some scaffolding was put up evening before and taken down day after as one aspect required outsourcing of scaffolding. All work men and office staff polite, friendly and excellent standard of work. Thoroughly recommend this family run business.

Had 2 Tesla Powerwalls fitted along with a Zappi EV charger and subsequent to that an existing solar PV array significantly upgraded along with another Powerwall fitted as well.

Everything from initial contact to final commissioning was well explained and the system has been faultless since fitting.

The guys doing the work were a pleasure to have in the house, this was a large job but done quickly and very tidily.
