I have never been so upset in my life.
It started to go wrong when I entered the pre - op room.
The nurse there assumed she could shorten my name to "Angie" - a shortening I deplore, and what gave her the right to do this. I can't remember her name but s a very colourful theatre cap.
After the op I was in recovery and not ready to fully wake up.
She tapped my shoulders so hard the heart monitoring patches fell off. her colleague noticed that the monitor was "wrong". I didn't open my eyes so this was followed by pinching my right ear and digging her nails in so hard it hurt. I did not react so she got a flannel soaked in very cold water and rubbed it vigorously over my face. I find this totally unacceptable and is nothing short of assault. I was assaulted whilst semi conscious.
She gave me 1g of paracetamol at 10.30
Asked how painful my knee was I replied "quite a bit" so at 10.45 I was given 10mg of morphine.
The pain didn't abate much so at 11.35 I was given another 10mg of morphine
I got back to the ward at 12.35
This was a lot of morphine.
The next few hours I know what was happening. The ward sister "Beekve"? shouted and told me to eat. I was terrified. I cried and told her I would rather be dead than feel like I did. She ignored this.
I asked her to leave me alone for an hour.
I double vision by now.
It was only a male nurse came in and explained to hy I was feeling so peculiar. He was kind. I said I needed to be listened TO not barked AT
I could not deal with the physio that afternoon because I was not functioning in any way normally. to stay overnight.
However, the ward sister started to prepare me for going home but then told me to lie down on my bed.I was there for 40 minutes wondering what was happening. In the end I to buzz for her to ask. She replied nonchalantly that I was not going home. I should not have to buzz for a nurse to be told that.
I talked to the night staff and told them how unhappy I was and that I was going to complain.
The following morning more pleasant.
I am not happy and I think some compensation is in order.
I'm sure the press would like the story.

I’ve had several experiences with Spencer Private Hospital and have always been extremely impressed with the level of care and professionalism I’ve received. I’ve been fortunate enough to have spinal surgery, a hernia repair and several urology appointments through Spire, and on every occasion I’ve been treated with kindness, respect and genuine care.

From the initial appointments through to treatment and follow up, I’ve always felt that I was in safe hands. The staff have been excellent and have taken the time to explain things clearly, answer my questions and make what can obviously be an anxious experience feel much more manageable.

The standard of care has consistently been very high, and I’ve always found the staff friendly, professional and reassuring. Whether it was preparing for surgery or attending an appointment, I never felt like I was just another patient being rushed through the system.

Based on my own experiences, I would have no hesitation in recommending Spencer Private Hospital. I’m very grateful for the care I’ve received and for the people who have looked after me throughout my various treatments and appointments. Excellent service from start to finish.

I would say they could have told me I had a catheter in And compression calf airbags I didn’t know whether I could get up or not so I didn’t

All very polite and nice. I got my operation quicker than the NHS, yes I had to pay but it was worth it.

I recently had a procedure here, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment I arrived, everyone was so friendly, kind, and professional. The staff took the time to explain everything, were very thorough, and did everything they could to make me feel comfortable and at ease.

The only downside was the wait. I was given a check-in time, but it was quite a while before I was actually taken in for my procedure. That part was a little frustrating, especially when you’re already feeling nervous and just want to get things started.

That being said, once everything got underway, the care I received more than made up for the wait. Everyone I dealt with was lovely, reassuring, and genuinely caring. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend the hospital and the wonderful staff.

I do not think it is right to give my experience of my hospital visit on the Trust Pilot platform.
This platform is for goods & service industries, not medical issues & we have had bad experiences before of Trust Pilot itself which also has poor reviews.

The initial consultation at the hospital was informative and well organised. The consultant was professional and fully understood my complaint. I was well informed whilst awaiting treatment and the "Lifebox' app was straightforward to use.
On the day of the procedure, I was booked into the hospital in a timely manner. The reception porter was excellent as we're all the staff who then introduced themselves and explained the next steps. The room allocated to Mr was very comfortable and peaceful. This helped to take my mind off the fact that I was in hospital. The procedure during the day was both quick and professional. The attention provided after surgery was excellent leading to my discharge. I cannot reiterate enough how good the staff were. The facilities and privacy of the room went a long way to make my stay comfortable.
