Don't expect to ever cancel

Don't expect to ever cancel. You have to phone up and then when you do cancel they dont actually do it and you receive another charge and delivery. Be warned!

Members do need to call us to cancel their subscription, and the average cancellation call takes around two minutes, including wait time. We choose to handle cancellations this way so we can ensure memberships are closed correctly, answer any final questions, and gather valuable feedback from our members.

We certainly do not intentionally continue memberships after they have been cancelled. If you were charged after speaking with our team, we'd very much like the opportunity to investigate what happened, as that is not the experience we aim to provide.

Offensively difficult to cancel.

Not only did this company cause me to lose thousands of pounds by converting the Gin Bond 2 investments into probably-worthless shares, but then they added insult to injury by making it impossible to cancel without making a telephone call and listening to a bunch of marketing spiel. It should be illegal that once I had told them in writing that I wanted to cancel and they'd confirmed in writing that they'd received that message, I should still have to telephone. As a matter of policy, I never resubscribe to any subscription that behaves like that when you want to cancel, so bye, Curious Drinker, if I could give you zero stars I would.

Impossible to cancel. Online form for membership management progresses so far then gives you a number to call with a recorded message that plays on loop.

While we do require members to call us to cancel, it certainly shouldn't be impossible. Our cancellation process is designed to ensure memberships are closed correctly, give members the opportunity to ask any final questions, and help prevent any unintended future renewals. The average cancellation call takes around two minutes, including wait time.

If you encountered a recorded message looping without being able to reach a member of the team, that is not the experience we aim to provide. It's possible you may have called outside of our operating hours, or there may have been a temporary issue with the phone system.

For anyone experiencing difficulties, our team can also be contacted directly at members@thecuriousdrinker.com and we'll be happy to assist, provide the correct cancellation number if needed, and help resolve any account queries.

Always such a treat to receive a gin…

Always such a treat to receive a gin box. Ginned magazine is great, with lots of wonderful cocktail suggestions. The snacks are unusual and very nice. The customer services team are very helpful too. Anna from customer services was very helpful in assisting me with my query.

Fantastic Experience with The Curious Drinker

I’ve had an absolutely brilliant experience with The Curious Drinker. The boxes they deliver are excellent, really well put together, thoughtfully curated, and packed with great products. The value for money is outstanding, especially considering the quality and variety you get each time.

Every delivery has felt like a treat, and it’s clear a lot of care goes into what they do. Highly recommend to anyone looking for something fun, different, and great value.

Should out to Desmond who was very professional & friendly over the phone

Anticipated

It is exciting to anticipate what will be included. Always enjoy unpacking the box and finding the story behind the gin and different ways to drink it. Several tonics and mixers included.

Would've been 5 stars for the fantastic rum and mixer box. I've ordered a few and they've all been value for money.
Losing two stars for not being able to cancel online. As others have said, it's not for feedback but to offer incentives to stay.

Great Box This Month.

Great box this month.

Cracking gin which is made better with the addition of a single drop of Grapefruit Essence and a straight tonic water like Schweppes or Fever Tree. Also best served with a slice of Grapefruit rather than the usual Lemon or Lime. The bottle is really nice, I must find something to do with it once it's empty.

Loved the Tortilla Chips. I used them to scoop up freshly made Chilli Con Carne with Sour Cream on top, a very pleasant way of serving Chilli instead of the usual rice.

The Chocolate Coconut bites were brilliant. No where near as sweet as Bounty, and better for it as you could really taste the Coconut.

The concept is great but sneaky sales tactics

The concept is great, if a little expensive. However what I really think is wrong is the fact you cannot cancel on the website. If you try and do this on a mobile phone it just sends you in an endless loop. You need to do it on a desktop computer which will then give you a number you have to call and listen to their sales pitch. There is no way to find this number of their website. All a bit too sneaky for my liking - if it had been easier to cancel I may have come back but this has put me off ever returning.

Yet another complaint about the…

Yet another complaint about the difficulty of cancellation. All my points were lost with the switch from craft gun club and now it is impossible to cancel, remove my card or anything. The personal experience James refers to is just absolute rubbish. They wouldn’t hide their phone number if that was the case. The fact that you have to email to get a phone number they don’t answer is ridiculous!

Regarding your rewards, we emailed all members in October 2025 to explain that we were introducing a new loyalty programme. Existing points remained available to spend until 4 January 2026, and any cashback earned under the new scheme became available from 5 January 2026. We appreciate it's disappointing if you weren't able to use your points before they expired.

We're also sorry you found the cancellation process difficult. We ask members to call us because it gives us the opportunity to resolve any outstanding issues, gather valuable feedback, and ensure everything is cancelled correctly. Our calls are answered by our team, with an average wait and call time of under two minutes, so the process is designed to be as quick and straightforward as possible.

Lovely gins.

My parcel was very well packaged, with lovely gins and great treats to accompany them. When I spoke to Desmond on the telephone, he was extremely friendly, polite and helpful. Great customer service.
