Super friendly staff. Food was amazing and beautifully presented. Will defiantly be coming back.

Can't fault the staff or the food, both are brilliant. They do probably the best meat pie I've ever seen. The big problem is that everything is just so hellishly expensive. It's a place that has to be visited at least once just to say you've been, but it isn't a place most people could afford to eat at regularly. We had three courses and a couple of drinks, which came to over £130 after the sneaky 12.5 % service charge was added, and one desert was only a small tub of ice cream. It's really more of a tourist venue unless you have very deep pockets and it was a bit disappointing that they don't accept cash.

Zero plant based options - the waitress wouldn’t even ask the kitchen to do the veggies without butter!! ! Nice venue , but having dry bread as an option is not ok. My companions meals were adequate but over priced . If you want healthy animal fat free food , swerve this place

Fantastic hostelry where four of us had a really great three course lunch and drinks
Staff were really good, attentive, knowledgeable and above all friendly and welcoming
The food was probably the best pub food we have had
Venue was great with lots to do and a wide range of products and produce on sale

Having just been to the Farmers Dog for visit number 4 I can honestly say won't be returning. I live close by and have previously enjoyed it.

Without compromise the staff are lovely, the service is fantastic and the establishment (minus the gents loos) are really nice.

However tonight I do not feel we got value for money. £9.50 for a small bowl (of very nice) soup and £26 for Pork Belly (served on some disgusting bean things) which quite honestly was tiny is not worthwhile. When it came to desert we opted to avoid spending £12 on a slither of Apple Pie and return home.

I'm afraid this place has gone from being reasonably priced to being a cash cow for gullible tourists wanting to visit their TV hero. £7 a pint is too much.

Sorry not for me anymore - plenty of other places around and about the area which represent better VFM. Great concept, great delivery of service. Greed has crept in.

Other pub restaurants could learn from a visit to the Farmers Dog, we did not encounter a single negative during our visit. The staff all sing from the same song sheet, the drink selection is excellent and the kitchen delivers superb food in a timely manor. Full marks from us. As one would expect, it is a little busy, but the staff are very good at their jobs.

Like many people we are experienced ‘eatingouters’ so we aren’t easily impressed but have to say that The Farmer’s Dog is a must visit. We travelled from the north east and everything about the place met/exceeded our expectations. Firstly there was a quite delightful atmosphere, the bar staff were very good - I was on Hawkstone lager which is a great drink and it is served brilliantly at the FD. There was a ‘checking in’ queue for bookings about 6 or 7 deep but it was dealt with smoothly and efficiently. We were early so had a drink at the bar before sitting down.

The service was the best I have seen in any type of restaurant or bar that I can recall - plenty of happy, well trained staff and the food was served speedily. No need to look around for a member of staff to order something. Jeremy Clarkson has got this spot on.

I made a stop at the Farmers dog this afternoon at 11AM and managed to quickly get into the bar for a pint of the Hawkstone IPA, Managed to get a nice table outside with the lovely views. The staff are exceptionally nice to deal with and my dog was given some treats. The tent is very busy with tables everywhere and the gift shop area along with some meat counters. The parking was ample in an adjacent field (disabled badge holders are allowed into the pubs main carpark) both quickly get filled up when the pub opens. The fit and finish of the pub is excellent, I was genuinely pleased to have stopped in for a pint.

took us 90 minutes to get there from Northampton, but it was well worth it.
The hung-up tractor renovated by Richard Hammond was the centrepiece of the pub that attracted tourists from all over the world.
It was Thursday evening, middle of October 2025, and the pub was chock block.
The food was Michelin-starred quality, or thereabout. In particular, we liked the sossages on mash.
The beer was outstanding, even the cider and the cocktails were unique.
Well done, Mr Clarkson.

We went to the Farmer's Puppy for a quick lunch. The queue to order moved fairly quickly, but it was like being at a theme park. Inside the tent, the most bizarre club music was banging out full blast. We took our drinks outside and sat in the garden. Lunch in an HGV lorry park would have been more pleasant. When you order food, they give you a 'buzzer', which alerts you when your order is ready. Only it doesn't buzz. It beeps. Really, really, loudly. All you can hear is incessant beeping all over the place, like lorries reversing. The food was mediocre at best. £16 for a tiny burger, another £5 for a side of fries that were so heavily salted they could have been preserved since Roman times. The souvenir shop had a limited choice of over-priced tat. I was only going to give it 1 star, but the Hedgerow cider was lovely.

Finally got a booking for this over hyped experience so we decided to go for it as nothing but rave reviews could be found ( all I can say is some people are to easily impressed) Had a table booked for 12.15 arrived at the check in gate at 12.05 told to come back later nearer the time? Found a seat on the terrace which was very nice with spectacular views, bar in the corner of the terrace was empty and a drink was obtained quickly, not bad beer but had better elswere. Returned to gate at 12.15 and we were told as others were to wait they were not ready, but we watched as the bar queue were ferried in relentlessly. waited until 12.25 and told to go through, all tables were empty so god knows what the delay was. Booked in and shown to the table, waiter very good as were all staff we encountered, ordered drinks arrived within 2 mins better than Mc Donalds, ordered food and again very prompt delivery, then I remembered the 1 and a quarter hour time slot you were allowed,. All I can say it was quality pub grub with a very limited menu, if they want to promote british farmers where were the steaks, belly pork, ckicken choice? Food was more than acceptable and priced according to the area they are located "Cotswold" Downhill from now on, the pub toilets were attrocious and should be shut down on health and safety grounds. The garden was a mud bath god knows what would happen in a heavy rain storm.The queues in the shops were amazing very long with little or nothing but overpriced Didly squat merchandice for sale or Hawksone brewery products, not bad but better drinks are available in my mind from other producers. As we left the shop a little downhearted at the whole experience we noticed a massive queue to get a drink from the tent, I just wondered how many would return to this lack luster experience I for one will not repeat the mistake.

Brilliant day out! The staff are amazing and friendly, the food is great and all home grown!

Staff went above & beyond to get us in for Sunday lunch without a booking. As it was, we got to see everything! The lager is GORGEOUS! The site is JUST as special as on TV & everyone who works there are brilliant lovely people. Beautiful view & brilliant even if you don’t get an indoor table - there are plenty of tables, food, drink outside. Great facilities for people with disabilities too. Lots of details that made us smile & the TASTIEST Sunday roast. All hail British Farming!!

Second visit to the Farmers Dog and the service and the food was up to the very high standards it was the first time I went.
The atmosphere is wonderful, lovely setting.
The staff were so unbelievably friendly and very attentive.
The presentation and food quality was to a very high standard.
Without doubt one of my favourite pubs in the world.
It’s a 3 hour round trip travelling for me and worth every minute.
Don’t be put off by any negative comments, I am extremely fussy and I could not recommend the Farmers Dog highly enough.
Many thanks to all the staff for making our experiences there a happy one and treasured memories that will last a lifetime.

My initial sample food - the first serving my dog liked- the second (same blend) she wouldn’t touch …. the remainder of the samples were unfortunately in a garage freezer that had a power outage & I had to toss ! Still hopeful, I paid over $200 to try again …. dog will still not touch - so when I go to cancel my subscription, they charge another $20+ ..
I will end up spending over $200 for food my dog won’t eat !!! I’ve even tried giving it away but no takers !! Save your money … RUN !!

Absolutely loved it! We love the TV series Clarksons Farm so to see the pub and shop in full flow after the blood, sweat and tears that went into it, the result is a true success. We booked on line and went off peak on a week day early evening. We were lucky as it was beautifully sunny. We arrived early, were immediately served at the bar, then we were shown to our table outside. The outdoor decking has the huge very expensive, lol, umbrellas which have heating, lighting and if you're still chilly there's soft warm throws available. The food was so good, fresh, wholesome, simple British food. The drinks are so good too. Their British wines and spritzes are superb.
Its so good that British, seasonal food and drink are only served. I really hope this will inspire more businesses to follow suit. I wish we lived near but unfortunately we dont. We have family near there so hopefully we'll be back soon. Thank you to all the amazing staff at Farmers Dog, 5 star service to you too!!

The staff were brilliant and the food was 10/10.

We arrived on Bank Holiday Sunday, thinking we had no chance of getting a table without a booking, but after a 10-minute wait to get a beer, Carl, who was very friendly, gave me an alarm thingy, and twenty minutes later, we were sat down, tucking into a fantastic Sunday roast!

All the staff were friendly and attentive and we felt special even though we were one of hundreds of customers that day!

Thank you again, we will be back!!

We went for our second visit today. Sat outside on the terrace, it was very busy but the standard and presentation of the food was 1st class. The staff were excellent. Happy 1st Anniversary. Well done everyone Fran & Tony xxx

Great place and great pub food at reasonable prices. The only downside was the service which really was very poor. The servers were very polite and pleasant but they just didn’t seem to care less whether we had been waiting for 20 minutes for a drink/food/desert etc. We had to get their attention each time after we had waited longer than we should. Shame. Other than that it is a lovely place and we would go again.
