Taking money without people knowledge.

A company scamming old folks who innocently buy something from the easy life website/catalogue, not seeing that they share there data with other companies like this one who is linked to them. They then get a call offering to send a reward. Even when the reward is refused, they send a puzzle book or other rubbish, while taking money from the persons bank/credit card that was used to make a purchase from easy life. It is then a fight to get the money back. They target vulnerable people like the elderly.
If you have been targeted, please do not let them get away with it. Demand a refund. You have legal rights.
There is a group on facebook who will help you called Benefit, Debt & Bailiff Support (UK) Post in there so we can help you get your money back.

Taking advantage of the elderly

I'm incredibly angry at how EasyLife - and through them The Rewards Club - have taken advantage of my 87-year old Granny and used her data. She was signed up to an expensive subscription without her knowledge or consent - and, most importantly, zero paper trail. It was nothing short of fraudulent.

It's taken some time to get this resolved; I spoke to EasyLife directly to ask them to remove my Granny's data and the next day she had a phone call from The Rewards Club saying that they wanted her details to send vouchers relating to a purchase made through EasyLife 3 years ago.

Avoid at all costs and report to the bank where possible. How they handle complaints is very difficult for the elderly/vulnerable to follow and seemingly designed to confuse and abuse.

Nothing less then a scam

Nothing less then a scam!

Made a purchase frim easy life 22 months ago, and 22months on they still have my card details. They have taken £344 from my account over 3 months.
Apparently signed up to a puzzle book subcription? When asking how this was done, and to provide proof of me accepting the subcription, they avoid the question.
This just proves that I didnt agree to this otherwise they would provide the evidence.
Please be careful

PLEASE AVOID....Scamming the elderly and vulnerable

PLEASE AVOID....a total of 4 transactions totalling over £160 have been taken from my elderly father's bank account. They are for reward clubs that my father did not sign up for (gardening, books, puzzle books and plants). We had nothing in writing and no contract. It took me over 2 hours on 2 occasions to resolve this. The man I spoke to in the promotions department was rude, defensive and claimed that they had no record of this and advised me to contact my fathers bank. Eventually, after speaking with someone different, I managed to close the account with them and they have agreed to refund the money (we are still waiting for this). On looking at another website for reviews, I came across one that had over 400 reviews (this site does not allow me to attach the link) with the exact same scenario as ours. Heart-breaking to read. I really don't know how these people sleep at night. It has certainly left my 86 year old disabled father feeling very vulnerable :-( I have reported this company to Trading Standards,

Beware!!

This must be a scam. Money was taken from my account for a supposed subscription for a totally unsolicited membership. I had ordered from easy life and they must have passed on my details, including bank account, to these people. I am now awaiting a refund of the money they have taken.

This company are scammers

This company are scammers - elderly people order something from the EasyLife catalogue and then someone within EasyLife appears to pass details of the debit card the elderly person used to something called 'The Rewards Club', who proceed to take unauthorised 'subscriptions' to what they call 'The Wellbeing Club', 'My Top Rewards' and 'Body & Mind Rewards' - there may be others. Each Subscription is for about £22, so suddenly £66 disappears from your bank account!
Presumably they hope the elderly won't notice - unfortunately for them,we did and got our bank to reverse the fraud. Well done Barclays!
Goodness knows why this is allowed to continue without the police getting involved.....
You can see from all the reviews on this site that this has been going on far too long without sanction.

I am speechless that this company is allowed to exist. £70 scammed from my 90 year old father in law who has dementia. Called the company and they couldn't care less and were so rude. Why is nothing being done to close them down?

Scamming rats.

Vile behaviour from a terrible company. My elderly grandmother was scammed into their book club without signing up and was being charged £33 a quarter after buying an item from easylife. They also took two payments from her bank account for £19. Disgusting praying on the vulnerable like that. Get a life.

Scam book club she didn’t sign up for

My mum bought some things from easy life but she was registered without her permission to a book club. We returned not known at this address but she was being charged £33 every 2 weeks. She is blind so a bit tricky for the book club to say she signed up. Also the phone number is a joke

Cold called our ex directory number…

Cold called our ex directory number asking to speak to a household member. We're subscribed to TOPS. Caller unaware what that means. When asked address gave one of an accountants. Looked up the company name and found it linked to "Easylife"... Caller said would transfer me to her manager as I asked her to. Then cut me off. Called and got through to a woman who's clearly NOT in London. Indian Call Centre. She can't say what the weather's like in her location... As she's well aware she's NOT in London. W t f is the company allowed to trade? Using barred numbers. They just cut you off if you ask a question that proves they're lying... Got no scruples and balls either

This company needs shut down

This company needs shut down. I'm unsure on how this is allowed to happen nowadays. Taking £75 every couple of days from my elderly grandparents without their permission.
When you call their number, you are greeted with queues that keep nudging you to the bottom of the pile and rude customer representatives.
They will then lie to you about taking the money. Vile behaviour!

Despicable company

Despicable company. My 90 year old Grandmother bought some cleaning products from Easylife and they signed her up for a subscription to Rewards Club Book Club for £32.99 a month. She might be old but she is sharp as a tack so there is no way signed up for that.
We’ve asked for a Data Subject Access request under GDPR for all the information they hold. Any individual is entitled to all the information any company holds on them with 30 days by law (including recordings of calls).
So if these cowboys have ripped off your elderly relative try the same tactic. It’ll cost them more to administer the request than to refund you.
If they don’t comply, complain to the Information Commissioners Office who can slap them with a fine of up to 4% of their turnover.

Absolute scam of a company linked to “Easy Life”. Preying on vulnerable elderly customers who have their debit card details ILLEGALLY shared between sister companies.
If you have ever ordered items from an Easy Life catalogue, then I would urge you to regularly check your bank account, because you will have been signed up to subscriptions that you have no knowledge of.
If I could give zero stars I would.

I agree with all the comments here

I agree with all the comments here
It starts with a cold call offering you £70 of vouchers which apparently can be spent anywhere, petrol, Tescos hotels etc.
In return you agree to take out a trial subscription to their magazines which you can cancel within 28 days but even if you cancel you can still use the £70 worth of vouchers! Sounds too good to be true and from readers reviews it is.So many elderly people have been duped
My advice is to get in touch immediately with your bank
explain the situation and ask them to cancel your card and provide a new one The bank will do this as Easylife keeps all your data on file which is illegal
Never shop with Easylife again ever, or you will not have an “easy life”
