We had the most incredible experience with Coast to Coast in Sri Lanka and medical elective programme!

From start to finish, it was an unforgettable three weeks filled with adventure, culture, learning and so many amazing memories.
Our one-week tour was absolutely fantastic, and our tour guide, Reece, was incredible. He was friendly, knowledgeable, supportive and made the whole week so enjoyable. Reece is an absolute icon, and our whole tour group absolutely loved him!!!! We genuinely felt like we thoroughly explored Sri Lanka and experienced a wide variety of what the country has to offer. Some of our favourite moments were snorkelling at Pigeon Island, going on an amazing safari, and climbing Ella Rock for sunrise — experiences we’ll never forget!

The two-week medical programme was equally brilliant and gave us such a valuable insight into healthcare in Sri Lanka. We had the opportunity to spend time at a children’s disability centre, complete a clinical placement at Karapitiya Teaching Hospital, learn about Ayurvedic treatments, and get involved with herbal garden maintenance. It was an incredibly varied programme that allowed us to learn, get hands-on experience and see different approaches to healthcare.
A special mention also has to go to Zoe, our course and house coordinator, who was absolutely amazing. She was so welcoming, helpful and supportive throughout our stay and went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. She really helped make the whole experience feel comfortable and enjoyable.
Overall, we had the best three weeks and couldn’t recommend Coast to Coast enough. We’ve come away with incredible memories, valuable experience and a real love for Sri Lanka. Thank you to Reece, Zoe and the whole Sri Lanka and English team for such an unforgettable experience!

I had an amazing experience in Ait Bougmez with Eddie and MJ. They were helpful and looked after us all. We had fun, did evening activities and were well supported during our morning and afternoon work. Was a great two weeks that I would definitely recommend to anyone.

My experience at Travelteer was so fun, i did one week of the Coast to coast tour and one week volunteering at the Marine programme. They provide accommodation, food and transport which was very helpful. I felt like a helped out a lot with the Marine projects. We worked with turtles and planted Mangrove trees. As much as i liked staying here the food was pretty repetitive and they don’t give food in the weekends, and the work was a bit hard sometimes. But other than that the entire experience was really fun and i would recommend it

Hollie was a great coordinator and she made the trip so so enjoyable. Not sure if the tour was worth the money though

I literally just returned from being in Nepal for 6 weeks (I would go back tomorrow if I could), funded originally by my university for 3 weeks (1 week tour, 2 weeks volunteering). I loved it so much that I self-extended volunteering by an extra 3 weeks. It is genuinely one of the most extraordinary experiences of my life.

The programme struck an incredible balance. We volunteered in local and rural schools, where we painted classrooms and murals, and built greenhouses and walls. Experiencing the students' and teachers' gratitude and excitement at our presence and work made the grind undoubtedly worthwhile. You really feel like you are making a difference, even if it is minor.

Beyond the projects, the cultural immersion was second to none. Staying in a rural village homestay was an experience like no other. The Amas and host families were honestly some of the kindest, most welcoming, and genuine people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. They made Nepal a second home.

Nepal deserves to get the same amount of interest as other projects. It is a stunning country with the kindest souls and a genuine need for volunteers to come and make a difference.

Extra special shoutout to Sean, Ming, Naresh, Shiva, and Lizzy for being the most supportive on-site and UK-based team and coordinators. You all made my experience the most unforgettable, worthwhile 6 weeks.

In terms of the accommodation itself the location was really great (5-7 min tuk tuk ride from main places) and the villa was really clean. Most of the staff were really kind and helpful. On our arrival, the members of staff were not particularly accommodating given we'd just travelled 24+ hours - it was a very transactional conversation as we were given our room key with no conversation or proper welcome. The next day on the induction there was no proper welcome either although I think it depends on which co-ordinator is leading at that point.

The programme was great but pretty unorganised. I found the advertising for the mental health placement not great. There is no clear explanation of how the placement is organised and when you ask questions to the UK office they have no answers whatsoever. They don't distinguish how MH differs from medical, Dr Nali's clinic and what it involves, involvement of yoga etc. I think here they are really underselling themselves as the placement itself was really incredible. In terms of organisation, I had been moved rooms several times and other people were too.

I had an incredible time, met some really amazing people and thought the placement was amazing but felt the staff could do more. However, some staff including Benu and Reece were extremely kind and welcoming.

My experience overall with Travelteer was good.
It would help if Travelteer could tell participants before they travel that for the (volunteer) programme collaboration with universities, the accomodation is in hostels in bunks in groups of 6 or more people and shared bathrooms. This may not suit everyone and it is better to give people the option to book individual accomodation on arrival at the destinations if so wished. Could Travelteer also ensure that the accomodations they offer should also cater for people with accessibility needs. Heavy suitcases which every traveller usually has, are difficult to carry up and down steep paths, flights of stairs to and in hostels and/or hotels.

I had the most amazing time working on the wildlife conservation project run by travelteer in Vietnam. The volunteer house was well run and comfortable, food was delicious and staff were amazing. Special mention to my coordinator, Paula, who truly made the experience by being so approachable and friendly. The project was incredible, getting to work closely with bears and monkeys, and really feel like I was making a difference. It was hard work, with lots of shovelling etc. which was extremely rewarding! Sa Pa itself is also beautiful, with plenty to do in evenings and weekends. Couldn’t recommend this trip more - do it!!

I have just done five weeks in Sri Lanka including one week of tour and I had the most incredible experience! The tour itself was organised so well and included so many beautiful places.Throughout both the tour and the volunteering all the coordinators were amazing and made my time there so special. In particular, Leah Gomm played a huge role in making my experience so memorable. She ensured that the tour ran smoothly and that we were on schedule at each destination whilst also creating such a nice and comfortable environment with her warm and bubbly personality . She was so approachable and friendly in both the tour and volunteering which really helped me feel settled. I am so grateful to have had the privilege of having her as not only my coordinator but a friend.
The volunteering was a really rewarding experience as the children were so keen to learn and I loved watching their ability grow over the time I was there, with each school and class bringing something different.

This was my second summer in a row with Travelteer, and on par with last year it was amazing. The projects are aligned with the program descriptions as the accommodation and extra logistics too. This year I went to Vietnam, and the staff (including in country) were nothing short of amazing, they couldn’t do more for you. A huge mention to Paula who, as last year, made the experience seamless, fun and memorable. Paula always goes above and beyond to ensure you have the best experience and was knowledgeable and helpful both in the projects, volunteer house and out of volunteer hours. The other project coordinator Sean was equally amazing, and I heard from volunteers on his projects how much they enjoyed working with him and how helpful he was.
I recommend Travelteer to anyone who wants to completely indulge themselves in a new culture and work that makes a difference. I’m looking to complete the last 2 destinations, by far my most favourite thing I’ve committed to!

Morocco was a trip to remember. I felt so looked after and safe during my two weeks - shout out to MJ and Eddie x

I went to Vietnam and I had a great time! The Vietnamese tour guide, Long, was absolutely amazing, he was very informative, caring, helpful and very funny, he honestly made the trip so much better. Our itinerary was packed each day and we got to see and experience a variety of different areas/ activities, including the tourist attractions whilst also seeing the local culture. The volunteering choices were amazing, I felt like I was able to make a real impact, whilst enjoying myself too. The leaders of my trip were Laurence Tranfield and Dave Adventure, both of which were very helpful and very fun to be around. I will definitely be using Travelteer again if I choose to do something similar in the future!

I had the best 2 weeks in Sri Lanka with Travelteer. The communication and information prior to departure was always super clear and they were really helpful answering any questions I had. The coast to coast tour was very well organised with great transport, drivers and locals to help us out. The second week spent volunteering was even better with opportunities to help out in schools and at marine projects. Ben, Klaudia and Monique made the trip even more special and they were amazing! Thank you so much for the best 2 weeks of my life

Good fun to go around sri lanka with mates. A worthwhile experience which is worth the time and money. A great chance to get to understand a culture halfway round the globe with a great team staffing the trip.

Had a great time the first week, loved all the activities, especially Ella Rock. What would have made my experience 5 stars, would have been a better hotel for the second week. The conditions were unfortunately poor, however I still enjoyed myself.

Very good company. Went to sri lanka for 2 weeks and enjoyed it a lot. Pricing is very reasonable and staff that went with us were very well trained to handle any situation and were great to have a conversation with. Would recommend anyone who's willing to go out there comfort zone to enjoy them self while doing something for the world
