Absolutely obnoxious TV licence is, I haven't used this rubbish in years I have told you lot multiple times I don't need a license as I'm never going to use your services as you use the funds to run your child molesting ring at the BBC and I am not supporting the biggest pedophile ring in the UK if someone says they don't need a licence stop nagging them yearly to get one

TV licensing authority is Breaking The Harassment Act 1997 which is UK law.

I do not have a TV license because I am registered blind, I do not have a television. I have informed TV licensing multiple times over the past 12 years and I still get threatening letters and yesterday an enforcement officer said he called at my property never knocked and put a threatening letter through the door.

I am now in the process of reporting TV licensing to Northumbria police under the harassment act 1997.

I think everyone should sue them for distress. Also money return. Because people are not getting what they are paying for. The countless videos of dirty tricks these enforcement officers use to get into peoples houses and the lies they tell. Simple - if you don't need a tv licence, don't pay, get a ring doorbell and don't answer the door to anyone unknown. Don't talk to them. Everyone stay quiet. They would have to listen then. Remember we own them. Not the other way round. But obviously if you need a tv licence then pay.

I have had so many problems with direct debit payments since moving to my current address. TV Licensing take more each month than was agreed, so i opted instead for quarterly payments to find that they have taken half the annual payment out not a quarter. I am a pensioner and cannot afford for them to help themselves whenever they like. Appalling in a cost of living crisis. Made 5 direct debit payments then decided to cancel the DD and make the last payment direct. Had a stupid email, so called them and eventually got through to a human being. Told him I had made the last payment directly and he confirmed I was now fully paid up until the end of the year. These morons then refunded me that payment and sent me an email telling me there was a 'problem with my direct debit'!!! Idiots! There is no problem with my DD - I just cancelled it and decided to pay the last instalment manually. They seem to want to lock everyone in to a DD. When you call them, their automated service only gives you 2 options, one is to set up a direct debit (which I didn't want to do), or to cancel the TV licence (which I didn't want to do either). This company is run and staffed by morons. The amount of trouble I have had to pay for my last instalment is ridiculous and I wish I hadn't bothered. Website and staff and just dreadful and not even worthy of 1 star. Morons.

Scaremongering criminals. Absolute bullies and shameful conduct. Cannot believe the UK government indulge this greedy company.

You can't cancel online, you can't get a refund on the phone, and they mess you about with endless questions.

No postal address for reply to hassle letter Desperate for fees?
The reminder to tell them that I do not need a licence arrived only 8 months after I had the letter to say that I am exempt for 12 months. The exemption letters used to cover TWO years.
There is NO POSTAL ADDRESS on the letter to write a reply .Luckily I saved this from previous correspondence.

I have not had a TV since the Ferguson Colourstar broke in about 1989 by then VHS (and subsequently DVD) was invented ( good film of choice ,ad free , bought second hand )
Sadly no - one has ever visited my home to check up all reason why I loath TV !

Absolute scum. I have lived at my address for nearly 7 years and am still getting harassing letters from these criminals. I dont watch the BBC or any live TV and informed them as such when I moved in. My TV is used for gaming and nothing else. Had an inspector round once who tried to claim that as I watch Twitch (streaming platform to watch people play video games) I would need a TV license. Contacted Twitch who told me this was false and that I should seek legal advice. I informed these scammers of this and am currently still waiting to hear from them.

TV Licensing are utter crap. I and my partner have just moved from a rented house to a shared house,as"Excluded Occupiers", with a Private Landlord.
We cancelled our licence at the old address and sackfuls of threatening mail still arrive there. We were in some doubt as to whether we needed a new licence at our new address, but thought it prudent to get one. In the light of new information we do not need one and have asked for a cancellation of the licence that we transferred from our old address to the new one.

I suppose we can expect a load more threatening mail at this address too?

I hope that everybody cancels their licence!

It is about time the BBC got a grip and changed fully to a streaming "Pay As You Go" service. The mechanism would then intrinisically exist to charge for the TV you are about to watch.

I have given a date for this experience because I had to enter something. But every experience, including this one, with TV Licensing ends the same way.

Even though had change address on line Haleena was so helpful and understanding.Done everything customer should be like talk me through everything and left me feeling at ease.Another one ticked off our list after moving made easy.

You can give me a ‘10 day window’, Send the morons from the Enforcement Team, All they’ll find is an almost empty property as I currently reside elsewhere. Not the crime of the century not having a Tv licence, Jesus Christ

Decided to stop watching BBC or view channels requiring a licence. Response was threatening emails requiring me to pay for a licence I do not need. A letter arrived on a Sat giving me until Monday night to pay up. Lines closed until Monday. Only options offered were to allow payment. Formal complaint re intimation. Reply was:’ You don't have to tell TV Licensing of the current situation, but if confirmation is not received, we cannot reduce contact to people who do not need a licence. We will continue enquiries until you tell us about the situation at the address’. I hadn’t received enquiries just threats that if I didn’t pay and that enforcement visit would be arranged, that I risk prosecution and £1000 fine so I needed to pay up.

‘There’s a chance another letter has been prepared for posting already. If one arrives in the next few weeks, please ignore it. Please note, these letters are automatically generated and won’t refer to any previous contact made.’ What a wasteful system!!!!

Note they state 10% of non payers are illegally avoiding paying. What a draconian way to treat someone who does not require a licence.

I always paid the BBC licence fee. But its just getting a farcical. I don't agree with it's woke agenda or it's obvious bias reporting also why have they employed a D.E.I on another ludicrous wage and that's not to mention the list of overpaid has beens they employ.The licence fee should be scrapped and turned into a subscription .I myself would not subscribe.
