Can’t tell you how easy this was to book and only 3 weeks post op and feeling fantastic 2 and a half stone down .
From arrival at riga a private car waiting for me to the hospital staff were fantastic and caring and to leaving to stay at the hotel before I fly home .
I had struggled with my weight from the age of 7 I had no more diets in me I only wish I had done this a long time ago .
Here’s to a new me .

Complete Openness, No pressure to decide whether to go ahead. Information & Support All The Way. And once in Riga Everything Ran Like Clockwork, From the airport & clinic transfers, to the pre-op tests. The care provided within the clinic was the best, all staff were kind & helpful. Some didn't have great English, but it was better than my Latvian! and didn't detract from the care. A great experience.

• The surgeon was fantastic and the nursing staff were mostly great! Huge shout out to SN Nina and Norman who made my journey a lot smoother and made me feel heard.

• The clinic as a whole is wonderfully clean. Free of clutter and lovely clear corridors.

•Lovely bedding (duvet and blankets etcs)

• Pre op checks were fantastic! No waiting around and no delays! Brilliant

As a nurse myself, it’s very challenging being a patient. However, I think there are a couple of improvements that could be made to enhance patient journey. For example:

• In the double rooms, more privacy and dignity could be maintained if there was a curtain that could divide the rooms. Not only this, a relative of the patient can attend. I was very lucky that I didn’t share a room until a couple of hours before discharge meaning my husband wasn’t able to come into the room on the final day due to another lady being admitted.

• I think all information papers and the website needs to be reviewed as A LOT of the information is contradicting or not clear enough.

• Considering the clinic provides bariatric surgery, the clinic is lacking in bariatric equipment. Pre op chair is very restrictive (those bigger than me would struggle), the beds (are awful) and there is no comfortable chair for people to sit in to encourage sitting out and mobility.

Although I have given some improvement recommendations, the service as a whole was brilliant and I would choose WLR again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much to everyone at WLR who have given me the tool to a happier and healthier me. I will be forever grateful!

Really can't fault WLR in any way. From initial contact with Sue onwards. Hotel and hospital immaculate. Staff amazing. There is a language barrier with some of the nurses but that doesn't detract from how helpful they are. Great experience from start to finish.

Everything went so smoothly from start to finish from the initial phone consultation to paying deposit receiving info from the patient Co ordinators etc. The journey to Latvia was also well organised from being picked up from airport and Brought to hotel. The clinic was spotless and all the staff were so accommodating. Was weary of going abroad for weight loss surgery but wlr defiantly took that worry away and couldn't reccomend them enough

There were a couple of admin hiccups, but the booking process was very easy and I cannot fault the care and treatment I received from the healthcare and support teams.

I chose Weight Loss Riga to have my gastric sleeve. I had been a member of the Facebook page for 3 years prior to booking. I received the best experience I could have hoped for the staff where brilliant. I couldn't have asked for more. Professional from the start. I wish I had done this years ago

Wonderful from start to finish, the first call with Mim was very Informative. There was no pushy sales pitch, like I had with other companies I contacted. From arriving in Riga picked up from airport, taken to the hospital everything ran like clock work, the Nurses were lovely nothing was to much trouble, a special mention to Ruta who was absolutely wonderful so caring and explaining what would be happening next and what we had to achieve that day. The doctors and nurses were all amazing . Thank you

I recently had a mini gastric bypass in Riga, the service is second to none and the medical team are truly world class.

I have complex chronic illnesses, so choosing weight loss surgery was more about my health as well as taking control of my weight. I have tried everything and nothing worked for me, so when my GP said that I needed to take even more medication for my high blood pressure and diabetes, I knew I had to do something.

I started researching and being an ex nurse I did a very thorough job. Weight Loss Riga shone through as the best weight loss clinic and I am extremely happy with my decision.

I am only one week post op but my diabetes is already is remission and I feel so much healthier already.

The clinic was very clean. Staff friendly and the surgeon excellent. First day was busy with tests all completed in house, had the operation same day. Monitored throughout the stay. Tests on last day were completed early so could be released early afternoon. I had no pain but pain relief was administered just in case.
If I need future surgery I would definitely look at this clinic again.

Everything is arranged for you, Hotel, transfers, tests, surgery. The Hotels used are tip top central and Riga is a lovely city.
The Surgeon is highly experienced and regarded. The Hospital is pristine, calm and has lovely friendly staff. Plus the back up of a coordinator ready to help with any questions.

5* for WLR. I am probably the least likely person to go abroad for surgery, but after being recommended WLR and researching them myself I am SO glad I did. Every single part of the journey has been so easy! From the enquiry to the surgery itself. At no point was there a language barrier. I have received great paperwork. The care is SOO much better than I have ever received at my local NHS hospital. Efficient, clean, professional. I could go on. All in all, i am extremely happy with my experience with WLR and would not hesitate to return. Thank you to everyone who was involved. Here’s to the start of a new journey.

At Weight loss Riga the team went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful experience. I live in America, been wanted to do weight loss surgery since 2021. But unfortunately some of the bad bedside manners I've read about in reviews scared the hell out of me. I give 4star because there's always room for improvement.

I was hugely impressed with my package. I returned on Saturday from Riga and to say I was impressed with the whole package is an understatement.

The coordinators in this country and Riga, the cleanliness of the clinic, the lovely staff in the clinic, all drop offs and pick ups were just fantastic. The whole thing was seamless. You have a very good system in place. I did say to the staff at the clinic how lovely they were all the time because I like to give credit where credit is due. Even the surgeon and anaesthetist were just so friendly.

I would highly recommend Weightloss Riga to anyone who is considering having this surgery.

Having given up on waiting for the NHS to leap to my rescue I decided it was time to take matters into my own hands and go private. After much research I had a shortlist of 2 clinics; Riga and Birmingham UK (15 miles up the road from me).
The saving of circa £5k helped to sway my decision, but not at the expense of safety or expertise. Of course I had concerns, but due to the wealth of information available on Facebook or WhatsApp from so many people who have already undergone procedures, or were going to be there at the same time as me I boarded the flight to Riga fully prepared for the experience. Dealing with the co-ordinators was an easy, pleasant and informative process, and still is to this day.
What was great was that there were no unpleasant surprises. My transfer was waiting for me; the hotel was nice; the Covid nurse turned up as planned and transport to the clinic the following morning (for 7 of us from the UK) was also prompt.
Pre-op tests were next, and as my operation wasn't until tomorrow the rest of the day was mine. Did a spot of shopping in the supermarket opposite, and a couple of us went out for a last light bite to eat in the evening. In between times the surgeon came to give me the results of the earlier tests and to confirm the details of my operation. All questions answered, the supply of a sleeping pill ensured a peaceful night.
The next day came and went without me knowing much about it. I came round from the op shivering but free of any pain, and thereafter slept a lot. I swear on all that I hold dear that I was woken at night to be given a sleeping pill.
Two more days resting in bed were only interrupted by the nutritionist visiting, regular supplies of Actimel and the odd stroll up and down the corridor. On the 5th evening my airport transfer was bang on time yet again, and the assistance which I had booked at the airport saved me from a long walk.
At no point in the whole trip was there a language barrier. Everything happened exactly as I had been told. The clinic was spotless, and the nurses were attentive and pleasant. The aftercare since returning home has also been first class, and all methods of communication with other patients remain open and well used.
I cannot fault the whole experience, and I would happily recommend Weight Loss Riga to anyone who asked.

I feel that this service was a very professional at every level. It was very supportive at every level, from arriving at the airport and the Taxi waiting for me to the taxi dropping me off after. I never felt alone. There was contact numbers to ring if needed which is really important when travelling alone and already feeling nervous. There was a good breakdown itinerary, which went as it said it would, which did give me confidence in the process. The clinic was good in that it was very clean. As a nurse I new what I wanted to see in term of the operating theatre, equipment, standards etc. it did meat all my expectations. The staff was very helpful and professional. I liked the fact that the pre screening was very thorough in deed. The after care was good, the staff being very attentive in giving pain relief and medication as appropriate. Thank you, my experience was very positive and I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

the service that i received was fabulous. I arrived a Riga to be collected by a waiting taxi firm who dropped me at the hotel and then the others who were having their ops all arrived and we had a chance to talk and catch up. The covid nurse arrive and then we were collected at 05.00 on the Monday taken to the clinic to complete the paperwork. Valentin the on the ground patient coordinator was so lovely and super helpful. We had our pre ops on the Monday and everything worked like clockwork. Four ladies had there ops on Monday pm and 5 had our Ops on Tuesday. I had a little bleed which the nurses were super quick to pick up on so I had to be taken back down to theatre on the Weds but as soon as the issue arised I was given an ultra sound and a blood test and I was back in theatre within an hour and half. So through and so quick. The surgeons, doctors and especially the nurses were absolutely fabulous and it you are worried about the language barrier don't be there seemed to always be one or two good English speaking nurses on each shift. My experience : I was scared as I travelled alone but once i arrived the everything was no problem. Advice book passenger assistance when booking our flight as you will need it at Latvia when returning home. Download the BOLT app as you may need this for food. Fabulous service and they are EU regulated and the NHS used to use this clinic before Brexit so that should give you some peace of mind. The service i received was better than some Private UK hospitals. If your thinking about this don't sit on the fence jump on the losers bench - Corny i know but I have wanted to use this phrase for ages. xx
