Couldn't fault them from first contact and ongoing since surgery. I had a bypass 8 days ago and can honestly say you couldn't find anyone more helpful and care and cleanliness second to none we wouldn't get that in the UK. Hotel was also lovely felt like I was on a little holiday thoroughly enjoyed Riga met some great people and I'm already feeling healthier which was my reason for taking this journey totally recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I spent a long 5 months researching Weight loss surgery and it is a minefield of promises and false information. I quickly disregarded Turkey as quite frankly you may as well play Russian Roulette. I then started to get valuable feedback about Weight loss Riga and while investigating noted Latvia is in the EU and under strict medical practise protocols. I also learnt that when the UK was in the EU our NHS would send NHS patients there when the waiting list in the UK was too big. Next step I joined their face book page and spoke directly with people who had previously been there and had surgery. It was quite a revelation and reassuring to discover some NHS nurses and staff had received surgery there as well.

I arrived at the airport and was welcomed by a guy holding a sign with my name on it and whisked to my hotel. Later that afternoon a nurse visited me and did the Covid test. I was advised I would be picked up at 7.50am the following morning to be taken to the clinic. At exactly 7.50 the taxi arrived. I was taken through the paperwork, followed by the pre-op tests and then a conversation with the surgeon later that afternoon. The following day I had my Gastric Bypass. Stayed two nights in the clinic, then a further night in the hotel before flying home. All transport was provided. The company is 100% professional, everything promised is done and done at the time they said it would. The clinic exceptionally clean, the nurses and staff friendly and accommodating. Last November I paid £13k for a total knee replacement in a well know chain of UK private hospitals. The treatment I had in Riga was miles ahead of that and I would not hesitate to recommend anyone thinking about bariatric surgery to speak to the company. I am sat here at my PC 5 days after the bypass pain free and regretting I did not do this years ago. By the way I am 63 so no spring chicken and it worked so well for me.

Flew out Monday afternoon, traveling alone and stepping off the plane, picked up. Taken to the Hotel which was nice, next morning was taken to the hospital which is immaculate. Saff nice, I was well looked after. I never had an issue with communication. Pre op tests done. Originally went for a sleeve. But ended up having a full bypass for personal reasons. Aftercare was great, medication was given regularly. Operation was on the Wednesday morning. I was then picked up Friday 7pm Riga time taken to the airport, few back to Bristol and home by midnight. I never once felt nervous, upset or alone. WhatsApp groups have been amazing all supporting each other giving advice. I do not regret a thing! only that I'd had the money and done it sooner. Here's to a skinnier future.

Weight Loss Riga was there for anything and everything before and after my surgery, and ensured that everything went smoothly. The nurses were kind and attentive, although one did ignore that my vein had collapsed and simply told me to stop crying that it hurt. Aside from that experience, I have recovered well from my surgery and saved myself so much money by going to Riga instead of spending twice the amount for half the experience in the UK!

I was extremely anxious before my surgery but I didn’t need to be. From the moment I landed in Latvia to the moment I left, I was extremely well looked after. I am now 2 weeks post op and I am feeling great! I am so excited for the future and I can’t thank the whole team at WLR enough!

Just come back from Riga my experience was phenomenal the service was great the clinic was clean and you couldn't ask for anything more yes there is always a language barrier when you go to another country but the service they gave me me with 5 Stars

I could not have been happier with the service from Weight Loss Rigi. I went for a gastric band however after a consult with the Doctor I was advised that as a Diabetic, a ByPass is a better solution. The overall feeling for me was that from when I landed to when I left, someone was with me to answer any questions or relieve my pain. I can't describe my appreciation to everyone from the cab driver at the hotel to the pre-op and hospital team. 12KG down in 5 weeks.

Very organised, airport , hotel and hospital transfers. Hospital was very clean. Far exceeded my expectations. Cleaner than NHS by far. I had lots of tests and prior to op. Scans of liver and abdominal organs, endoscopy and also blood. I had a full MOT. Doctors had respect and were kind. Nurses were mostly nice but 2-3of them were very rude and rough.

My experience with weight loss Riga was fantastic from start to finish. The whole experience is extremely well organised from hotels to taxis and pre operative tests. You will have a patient liaison, who is absolutely lovely, and he will explain where you need to be and when. The hospital is extremely clean and again well organised. There is a slight language barrier but everyone was professional and knew what they were doing. I highly recommend getting your surgery done here and you are in very safe hands. I do not regret for a second coming here and only wish I’d done it years ago!

I arrived in Riga for a Gastric Bypass on December the 14 th 2022. The whole process from start to finish was absolutely 100% from initially enquiring about options right through until surgery and leaving. On arrival there was a driver at the airport waiting to take me to the lovely Hotel night before surgery. The next day Valentin ( who was my contact in Riga ) met me at the hotel to take me to the clinic. He explained everything to me about what would happen day to day and went through all paperwork thoroughly so that it was clear to me. The staff at the clinic were so helpful professional and kind nothing was to much trouble. All pre op tests carried out incredibly quickly. Then back to my room. The time the surgeon took before and after with me explaining options going threw details of what to do after surgery was just great. Nurses couldn’t do enough.
I really will be recommending ppl to WLR (Weight Loss Riga ). I was recommended myself.

I chose WLR because of the fantastic reviews and also have a family member that went last year. The care I received was second to none from start to finish, everything ran like clockwork and the nurses were very attentive after surgery to ensure you are happy and comfortable. Valentin was fabulous, he ensured that all arrangements in Riga were in place including taxis, and any information we needed. I decided to fly home a day early and Valentin ensured that the surgeon would discharge me on time so that I could go to the airport. Mim in the Uk was great and always got back to me very quickly with any of the million questions I had before leaving. Would highly recommend.

From start to finish, everyone, coordinators, surgeon, clinical staff made my experience excellent. I was well looked after by all, from organising transportation to the care I received in the clinic, it was flawless. If anyone is unsure of going through with this, my advice is go for it!

Absolutely Amazing Service from start to finish the hotel we stayed at was excellent staff were all really good The UK coordinator and Latvian were so were always there for you via call and WhatsApp.The clinic was state of the art all staff were all helpful and friendly.The Surgpens and nurses always there for you from start yo finish Cannot think them for an amazing journey.Will definitely be recommending to all my friends

The whole experience was well planned and easy, from pick up at the airport to getting back to the airport, the clinic is spotlessly clean and they run it very precisely, I found everyone very nice and pleasant too. My op went really well and was always topped up with pain relief, if you needed anything just ask the nurses, was very happy with my whole trip and even got a day to see a little of Riga old town which is very pretty 😍 Thankyou weight loss Riga ❤️

I had my sleeve surgery on 29th Sept. To date i have lost a stone and a half. i haven't had any other issues like reflux. My surgery scars have healed well and my GP has praised the surgeon. The clinic is very clean and the staff were great. The facebook page and your months whatsapp group have been an amazing source of support.

I had surgery at WLR almost 5 weeks ago. On arrival I was taken for the gentlest covid swab ever - turns out this was returned inconclusive. This was either an issue with the test or the ‘nurse’ taking the swab did not do it correctly. However I was forced to pay an additional £74 and felt bullied into this - Mim refused to support me saying ‘ pay it or don’t have surgery’. I was very unhappy with this - it also affected my discharge as surgery was a day later and early due to my flight - the surgeon quite honestly didn’t have a clue who I was without the notes ready (which they weren’t) . I got the discharge papers on arrival at home to discover that I had a reflux issue that had already damaged my esophogeous with no recommendation of meds like omezeprazole. My GP is astounded by this ! They had also identified a growth on my kidney - no mention by the surgeon.
Very worrying ! Asked Mim to follow up and was given a reply to speak to my GP. I replied to say how poor aftercare this and was given slightly more information , not the answers to my questions but a reply that was very similar to what I had already found myself on Google - almost word for word ! What a coincidence! Thank heavens we have the NHS to pick up the pieces !

Do not believe everything what you read on the Facebook Page - this is moderated by the sales team Mim and Sue. There are horror stories , believe me ! You will not find them though as only positive endorsements are approved.
I feel very lucky , so far I seem to be recovering well - but do not be fooled. The sales team are just that , sales after your money ! a lot of the regular posters on FB are always the same and act as influencers - selling the dream whilst being oblivious to the potential risks and what can and does go wrong. I have seen people who had surgery in Riga ,at this hospital and through WLR ,that I am friends with, be blocked from the group whilst in hospital in the UK having post operative complications corrected - it is not a fair and unbiased forum. Those who have complained and have serious issues have not been invited to leave a review on here - speaks volumes !

Buyer Beware !!!!! If I knew then what I know now ???? I’d have never got on the plane !

I decided to use Weight Loss Riga after a recommendation from a friend. Booking the surgery was easy and I was well informed. Then there was radio silence unless I reached out to the coordinators however they did always respond in a timely manor. The hotel we stayed in was nice and in a good location. Communication from Valentine once in Riga was good. He came to the hotel at 5am to do the pick up and this is where the adventure really stared. It was a little odd being taken into a dark hospital that appeared deserted however it was very nice and clean once in there. The rooms are big with lockable drawers and a big bathroom with shower. Towels are tiny especially when going for weight loss surgery lol Luckily I took my own towel. The pre ops and the surgery went well and the nurses were amazing after. Medication when needed or asked for. Transfers all went well to/from hotel and hospital.

My only criticisms are there was no care package given to leave the hospital - plasters, pain meds or actimel. I later found out I should have been given an extra document also about being discharged that I wasn’t but not end of the world. Discharge day also wasn’t fun, we had to wait until 6pm for the surgeon to have finished all of his surgeries that day to come round and discharge us which was a pain as meant we were just sat around waiting when i could have been back at the hotel with my friend - may be a good idea to block some time in middle of day for discharge.

I would recommend Weight Loss Riga.
