They found me kiren, the most lovely cleaner I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, not only that she is absolutely amazing at what she does and made our home look like a hotel. AVOID. An astonishingly poor customer experience, and a company I would strongly recommend avoiding.
We booked a fortnightly cleaning service. Three cleans have taken place. This morning, on the day our regular cleaner was due to return, we were told by the owner that our account was being closed because our payments had not been made by the company's midnight deadline on the day of each clean.

Yes - the expectation is that payment is made the day of the clean. The day after is unacceptable.

The cleaning itself was mixed. The first cleaner spent the entire three-hour appointment on the kitchen, so we decided to try someone else. The next cleaner was excellent and was someone we were very happy to have return regularly. She was away on holiday for the third clean, so the company sent a replacement, who was perfectly pleasant and even told us not to worry about paying that day, agreeing that the midnight payment requirement was unusual.

Our regular cleaner was due back today. Instead, the owner messaged to say that she was unwell and did not want to return anyway because we had not paid on time. We were also told that the replacement cleaner did not want to return for the same reason, and that our account would therefore be closed. Ironically, the replacement cleaner did not send her bank details until long after 10:30pm on the day of the clean, making payment on the day fairly impractical.

The decision was particularly surprising because this was not a case of unpaid invoices being allowed to accumulate. Every invoice was paid. There was never any dispute about the amount owed, nor any refusal or reluctance to pay. The issue was simply that payment was not always made by midnight on the day of the clean.

I want to be completely fair about our side of this - we did fail to meet that deadline on all three occasions. Some payments were made the following day and others made the day after that. My banking is not set up on my phone, so making a payment requires logging into a computer, which isn't always convenient. A definite sense of ‘must do that later’ then forgetting rather than anything malicious. The company don’t allow you to set up a standing order.

That was my mistake, and I accept responsibility for it.

What I find completely unacceptable is the way the company chose to deal with it.

After the second clean, we received a message from the owner warning that cleaners would not return if payment was not made on time. The wording was technically professional, but the tone was blunt and, in my view, unnecessarily unpleasant. Given that we had paid every invoice, albeit not always within the company's very narrow timeframe, I was genuinely taken aback.

I then received today's message with no expectation that our relationship with the company was about to end.

There was no outstanding debt to resolve. There was no refusal to pay. There was no pattern of leaving bills unpaid for weeks. There were simply three occasions on which payment was made a couple of days late.

For that, the response was to warn us that cleaners would not return and then close our account.

That is an extraordinary way to treat a customer.

What makes it all the more frustrating is that we actually liked the service when we found the right cleaner. We had found someone whose work was excellent and whom we were perfectly happy to have return every fortnight. There was therefore every opportunity for this to have been a successful, ongoing arrangement.

Instead, a relatively minor administrative issue was handled in a way that has left me sufficiently disappointed that I feel obliged to warn other customers.

If you are considering using this company, I would think very carefully before doing so. The payment deadline is midnight on the day of the clean, and in our experience missing it, even when payment follows promptly, can result in increasingly unpleasant communication and ultimately the termination of your account.

Of course customers should pay on time. I accept that.

But businesses also have choices about how they communicate, how they handle an honest mistake, and whether their response is proportionate to the situation.

In our case, the answer to all three was deeply disappointing.

Really good service. Company are polite and helpful. Seems to be a family run business. They found us an excellent cleaner (Ducati) who's the best cleaner we've had.

We used the Kilmarnock franchise for regular cleaning, but unfortunately reliability was a consistent problem. The two cleaners assigned to us regularly cancelled, didn’t turn up or arrived between 30 and 90 minutes late.

When they did attend, they generally did a good job. However, the final straw came when our cleaner (who was due at 9.30am) messaged to say she had slept in but would arrive by 10am. By 10.45am, she still hadn’t arrived, so we told her not to come and cancelled our contract.

The Kilmarnock franchise didn’t offer an apology or acknowledge the repeated reliability issues. Instead, they asked whether we wanted a different cleaner and said it seemed a shame to give up if we still needed a regular cleaner. They also refused to refund our monthly fee because they require one month’s notice, despite the fact that we were cancelling because of the unreliable service.

The cleaning was good on the occasions it happened, but the repeated cancellations, no-shows and late arrivals made the service too unreliable. The failure to apologise or recognise why we were cancelling was particularly disappointing.

Alice from the Swindon office responded quickly to my request, for help with cleaning following my discharge from hospital following surgery and Megan I visited every week for 4 weeks did an excellent job.

Well Polished makes the whole process easy to set up and are quite affordable. I have never had a cleaner before and they took me through the process. My cleaner Kym was amazing, did an incredible job of cleaning my conservatory and everyone I spoke to is nice and friendly.

We booked a deep clean and the team of three were exceptionally thorough doing a great job! We would definitely book them again!! Excellent service!!

AVOID! Paid in excess of £220 for a 6 HR end of tenancy clean for a v small 1 bed flat in ditchling from well polished Lewes and this is what they think is exceptable. They suggested it was down to. Lack of time and a hoover. Don't forget they don't bring any cleaning equipment, you have to supply it. I called a Julie and before I could say anything she just said time not enough time. As you can see from the photos 6 hours that took. I emailed my concern of absolutely basic cleaning as you can see and received an AI edited response from a Clare blaming time & the hoover. They also try and cover and recompense by saying the cleaners are self employed. Avoid

I had an excellent experience with Alice of Well Polished, Eastbourne. Communication exchange was quick and easy by phone and email. She got to know my needs without judgement and allocated a suitable cleaner. The cleaner, Michelle, was excellent. Michelle was thorough and conscientious. I'd say she went above and beyond in the allocated time, even helping with some organising. I feel like I got a lot more out of this service than I thought was possible. I would definitely use Well Polished again in the future and recommend them to others who want a straightforward, competent, and no-fuss cleaning service.

The staff are very friendly and get on with their job without interference.

5 cleaners in 6 months!
First cleaner was very good and did a thorough job but unfortunately took advantage of nobody being at home and leaving early
Second cleaner took multiple cigarette breaks and the house ended up smelling of cigarettes
Third cleaner skimmed over the house did the work in just over 3 hours when we pay for 4 hours and took away our recycling waste.
This caused major worry over identity theft
Fourth cleaner was the best by far but unfortunately left to go on holiday for 6 weeks
Fifth cleaner was ok but quite a few things were not done properly and some areas of the house left completely.
The agency knew about all these issues and would find a replacement but to my surprise they didn’t seem to concerned about the recycling being removed from our property and the response was that they had never heard of anyone doing it before and the rubbish had been disposed of at a bin site.
If this was a public bin site our personal details would have been at risk and we could have potentially been fined for fly tipping.

Surely something like this should be in the contract between cleaner and agent that nothing is removed from the property.
I don’t recommend this service and felt that the support from the office was not adequate.

I needed a cleaner at very short notice to help with moving out of our old house, and was completely stressed out. Within 24 hours of contacting Well Polished they had arranged someone and the job was done to a very high standard. Cannot tell you how appreciative I was of the emergency help and the amount of help the team gave to make sure I was looked after. Great job all round.
