Abysmal service both at the curb and…
Abysmal service both at the curb and over the phone. They very often fail to pick up and even when they do, I have to go make sure the job was done completely. When you call to tell them about it, they make up rules that were never in effect. I've never dealt with a worse company.

Constant price increases and outrageous fees
Our bill goes up every month, in just four years it has doubled. I understand the price of everything has gone up but an increase nearly every month is ridiculous. Just cancelled to go with another company that has consistent billing and now Waste Management is charging $86 to come pick up their container. $86!! What in the world for? They are picking up an empty container! Tell me where to take it and I'll drive it there and I'm sure it'll cost me under $5 in gas.

Very very disappointed with WM
Very very disappointed with WM. I have used them for years. I used to like them. I could hop on a 2 minute call, talk with a great receptionist. Get what I needed done super fast and be done. Recently they have become a HUGE problem. They charge extra for dumb things. I can't get them on the phone. I tried over and over to get through their AI bot. I finally tried the chat bot. All I needed was to change my can size. I can't change the size of my cans. NOW, I have to sit on my computer and wait 5 minutes just for the chat guy to maybe get something done and ask me a zillion questions. It's so painful and slow. I miss the old WM before they were a giant, faceless company.
The VA's hang up on me when they can't fix my problem. I'm so upset right now.

Absolutely the worst company! They missed my bin collection 6–7 times and then charged me for overweight bins that were entirely their fault. Customer service was rude, management dismissive and unhelpful, and every complaint is met with “it’s in your contract.” They charged £40 for a late payment received just one day late, refused proof from my bank, blocked my account, and raised new issues even after collecting 1 payment from my new bank. They set up a new direct debit despite me leaving in six days. Not regulated, unaccountable, and completely unreliable — avoid at all costs.

Missed collection called several times for them to collect. They turned up at 3 am when the gates were locked. We cancelled our direct debit took them weeks to give us a refund which was less than half what we had paid but charged us £40 for late payment fees on top of that they’ve automatically renewed it for another 12 months we were never given the option of not automatically renewing, rude nasty staff who don’t seem to realise that they are also consumers, absolutely no professionalism or courtesy. I guess they’re employed because of their bad attitudes and are not bright enough to work anywhere else!

if i can give zero stars i would have give it service is horrible and not professional at all a lot of missed collection and to chase them back is really stressful i have to spend all my time between calling and emails and the portal when i did the contract was £100 a month which is £1200.00 and then after i signed the contarct they start hidden charges by sending invoices extra excess even without scale to check the weigh i end up paying 1400 ish a year include the excess and when i got much better contarct £460.20a year with bigger ben i couldnt cancel the contract with excuse that i didnt give notice before the contract finish 3 months and it was 1 year contract not open so after couple of calls and emails which is they didn't get bother to reply they had to charge me £390.00 to cancel the contract after refusing to give them notice 3 months which is should been only one month, i wish i could download new contract so people can see the difference between new contract and the waste manage one to show people how they robbing their costumer i don't recommend waste manage to anyone because all they care about is money not reputation otherwise they will treat costumer in better way and let them come back again in the future to deal with them

Beware of the Scam!
We’ve been a customer of Waste Management for over 30 years, and it’s truly disappointing to see how drastically their service quality and customer care have declined.
Over the past year, dealing with WM has been nothing short of exhausting. They’ve made it nearly impossible to contact anyone directly, especially when it comes to account cancellations or service changes. Despite multiple emails, calls, and documented communication attempts since July 2024, our requests were ignored or delayed for months.
When we finally managed to submit a written cancellation, WM claimed it was “outside the window,” even though our documentation clearly shows otherwise. Their representatives repeatedly refused to acknowledge our cancellation or take responsibility for internal errors.
To make matters worse, after months of back-and-forth, they still refused to pick up their bins — forcing us to move them off our property ourselves. As a long-term customer who has always paid on time and maintained good faith, we are appalled at how this was handled.
This company hides behind policies and makes it nearly impossible for businesses to leave, regardless of how poorly they treat loyal clients. We expected integrity and professionalism from a company we’ve trusted for decades, and instead, we were met with dismissiveness and obstruction.
We strongly caution other businesses to think twice before entering into a contract with Waste Management. Their customer service structure and contract practices are designed to trap you, not support you.

We have been loyal customers with them…
We have been loyal customers with them for over 30 years now. However, last year they were really inconsistent with the pick ups, despite contacting them numerous times they didn't take any action. So we decided to cancel the service and switch the company on termination of our contract. Despite, cancelling the service they have implied some cancellation charge and contacted us consistently. Now, there waste bin has been lying outside our premises for over few months now, and there has been no proactive action to pick up the company bin.

I never wrote a bad review in my life, but I felt the need to come warn whoever read this.
If there was a way I could not give any starts at all, I would, but I decided to give two starts for the customer services team that were respectful, patient and actually tried to help me.
I honestly feel bad for whoever work in their costumer services, because I could only imagine the many complaints people make daily. People who are rude or just pissed off (like me) because of missed pickups and plain stupidity.
So, I really appreciate them being nice, and helping me out.
Me and my family recently moved to Minnesota, and never in our lives have we struggled so much with trash pickup problems like in here. Our trash bags were piling up in our garage for weeks. We've paid this trash pickup service for about a month, and every time, our trash was missed.
I repeat: our trash was missed (ON PURPOSE)
They had the audacity to record videos for the service detail, and in the video, you could see our trash outside, waiting to be picked up, but being missed over and over again. We would put our trash out on time, and I would even watch to see them picking up sometimes. THEY NEVER DID.
You can imagine the smell of my garage with piles of trash. We were almost having problems with rats. If it wasn't for the city recycling picking up our trash, I don't know if we would have the space in the garage to put boxes and the many piles of trash (our family is huge)
Another thing I would like to point out, they never gave us any containers and guess what happened when I tried to cancel their services?
Being charged $125 (our bills were always paid on time). $75 for a trash container I never received, and another price for service (what service??)
I was able to speak to customer services, and they were able to help me through it, thank goodness, but if I were you, I would rethink twice before choosing waste management to pick up your trash.

well another missed picked up. Chated with live agent assured me be nect day only to find out it was schedule for fopur days later. This happens all the time. Stay away and hire another company even if they charge more.

I'm warting about halo waste I have ordered from them container for west nut they cost me 3 times they said it's over loaded but I asked them to check it before they came and I have send them pick when they came they change Thier mind so I would say they not working for collection west collections money they west my time plus money still the issue nor resolved trust pilot I'm asking with all due respect to give them 0 Star ⭐ they are rude as well to communicate with. Customer so I would say shit west collections lest get the down 👇👎 those kind of limited we don't need them life becomes hard and they makes worse so trusting pilots I will leave it to you

I would give them zero stars if I could they are the Morgan & Morgan dumpster fire of garbage pickers. They increased our rates again (almost $500 a month to pick up the garbage weekly) and I found a company that was only a $192.00 for the same dumpster and pick up) so I decided to cancel. It took three times just to get to a person. I was then informed I had a auto renewing contract that was signed in 2017 from Advanced Disposal in order to cancel I would have to wait until November BUT I would have to send them a certified letter 120 to 90 days prior to this “auto renewing contract”. The only way I could get out now is if they increased the rates, I said they did; she told me this rate increase didn’t count because the landfill increased the rate not the provider. If I wanted to cancel now I would have to pay something like 3x the monthly rate + damages for the remanding contract which is about $4k. How can one small business trying to keep their customers prices down by eliminating or cutting expenses cause a multimillion dollar company damages. Honestly I would be ashamed and embarrassed with all these negative reviews to work here much less make management decisions. The lack of character is astounding l!!! If you actually intended to do something for ALL these complaints it would have been done before the consumer had to leave a review. The passive/aggressive attempt to “fix” the problem wreaks of laziness and insincerity.

Would give zero stars
Would give zero stars, fraudulently charged my account 100s of dollars and when I called to resolve the issue the representative named Meloney laughed at me for wanting a refund; a refund anyone would rightfully want especially since my account was up to date on auto pay. Buyer beware unfortunately I was forced to contract with them due to my residential area only allowed them as a provider but they are a joke of company truly trash.

Waste Management bought our local container service and I can not sync my account to pay online.
Customer support is an AI agaent blocking ANY real people from being able to help me.
I have spent the past two hours fighting just to try and pay a bill... this is rediculous

I should have read their awful reviews… don't fall for their advertisements and tactics.
I should have read these awful reviews before I signed up with WM. Subscribed with them on our move in week but did not get the garbage bin delivered after 2 weeks so we missed 2 collection weeks. I thought I give them a chance to recover - but I should have not. They will not even pick up the top piece of our ikea desk that we cannot fit in their bin, they left it in the middle road the sitting there the whole day. The laziest crew you can find from a garbage business.
My advice:
Don't even sign up with WM.com, if you don't want to deal with their awful and unreliable service. I just cancelled our service today after being with them for less than 3 months. They charged us $75 just to retrieve their garbage bin from us. You can use that $$ to buy your own bin, another way for them to keep you stuck with them. What an awful way to welcome a new WI resident.
Talk to a good neighbor first before you sign up with a garbage collection company, but don't even consider WM.com (Waste Management) on your list.

“Waste Management” has double billed…
“Waste Management” has double billed multiple tenants. The previous tenant and the current tenant. They have both paid for the invoices for a few months. Their system does not catch multiple billing. I was on the phone with them for an hour. I am not sure if the problem has been resolved yet. I am hoping the city selects a different disposal company when the contract with “WM” ends.
In my opinion, WM is the most corrupt company I have ever dealt with.

Lie, Cheat, and Steal Part 3, or the Cancer that is Waste Management
I used the company's online site to book a roll off dumpster. In this drastically shortened summary of the story, WM refused to pick up the dumpster. Excuse after excuse. My coworker said, "they are leaving it at your house to drive up the bill and make you pay."
And that is exactly what WM has been trying to do. I pre-paid but they keep trying to steal money from my PayPal account for as much as $1300. More than 3x the rate of any local service. Thankfully PayPal can't be pushed around by this unethical company. Do I see a collections referral in the future? Sure! Socialists must be paid for work they didn't do!
WM must be trying to get the CEO up to the $20M level for his annual pay. Embarrassing!
WM continues to bill me for a service that was never provided. WM continues to try to steal money from my PayPal account, like today AGAIN! The most recent development is that greedy WM has now added a service charge.
WM employees have no desire to fix the problem they created. I guess they are comfortable with the "shake down" method. Paychecks have to come from somewhere, too bad honest hardworking people have to suffer.
Waste Management is an unethical company.
In my last direct interaction with someone who said she was from "corporate," she said she would record my comments in the notes. Not as a means of rectifying the error. No interest there. Any normal person would be ashamed to work for Waste Management!
Today I was struck by the persistent "I don't care" attitude from WM and the constant attacks. The evil in their plan is to wear you out. Just keep attacking. Do not address the problem. Just take.
The cancer that killed both of my parents did the same thing. Waste Management is just like cancer. It sucked every ounce of life from parents and WM employees are willing to TRY to do the same to me.
I suggest that everyone attend a meeting of your local municipality and vote for re-evaluate your sanitation contract, if it is serviced by WM.
