Just waited 20 minutes trying to get through on the out of hours help line. Gave up when not answered all though “my call is important to us” Obviously not important enough to adequately staff their call centres. Do not let your elderly or vulnerable relations rely on this company for help they won’t get it.
Poor service, and so unreliable we had to replace with alternative system for my mum which has been faultless.

Appalling service on Saturday morning. My neighbour was ill and pressed her button at 7.45. All it did was bleep until about 8.15 when a recorded message stated call being connected. It was 8.25 before anyone spoke, by which time I had called 999 for her. I told them to cancel call but they didn't and we were still getting 'call being connected' message. Totally inadequate compared to our previous alarm company, and very frightening.

Appalling service, I have an equipment failure so rang however its not the right number on their website. Found the number for accounts and spoke to a lady who gave me a number for sales. I took the option of leaving a voicemail for a call back. Still no response after five days. I’m now trying to cancel the account because of the appalling back up service. I have sent various e mails too without any success. I even rang the accounts lady baa at k and she has sent an e mail in my behalf. The response from appello in the reviews blames high call demand but waiting days for a response is unprofessional. I would not recommend this company and will be complaining to the Royal British Legion who originally arranged for the installation to remove this company from their approved list.

I am appalled by my recent experience with Appello. All seemed well until an equipment failure. Openreach(BT) visited within 24hrs to establish phone line was operational however 5 days of alerting Appello the Careline was not working no one came to rectify the problem or sending a replacement. This left an extremely vulnerable lady with no means of gaining assistance. I ended up I purchasing another system from another provider which arrives and was installed within 20 hours

My development has not gone live yet on Appello, so i can only rate on updating the system with Home Owners information. This is a quick and easy system to use, I cant see any problems with it as yet.
Appello replied to my previous review and asked me to contact them direct. On reading the reviews, in general, the ones praising Appello come from FirstPort Development Managers whereas the ones criticising, in general, come from actual residents who need to use the careline service. Since FirstPort and Appello appear to share the same address I wonder if there is a link between positive reviews and ownership of the two companies? Several residents in our retirement flats are still experiencing long delays when using the Appello emergency system.

The service is very good, staff are always friendly and professional. Quick response to any calls most of the time. Its really helpful that one can log in and check any calls with relevant notes that happened when house manager off site.

I'm a Development Manager for First Port Retirement. The service we receive from Appello is second to none. They answer any emergency calls promptly and deal with efficiently. When I'm not on duty I'm able to log on to their recently added system to see if anyone has needed to use the service if my absence and whether it was an accidental pull of the cord or indeed an emergency and services needed to be called. This extra digital platform has made a big difference in my every day role. All in all a fab service and would recommend Appello without hesitation.

As a Residential Development Manager for the past 17 years my interaction with Appello has always been positive, even during the covid pandemic. The staff are unfailingly courteous and professional at all times,day and night. Tom Farrell D.M.
I work for Firstport and in the main I can say the service is great. I have found that the operatives are always polite, extremely helpful and patient, however recently it seems it seems to take longer for an operative to answer, I waited over 10 minuets at a Firstport Development wall safe to gain access for relief work.

as a manager of a retirement development that have appello as their out of hours call service i can only say a huge thank you. not only do they give peace of mind to my residents when i am off duty they are always on the end of the line for us managers too and i have been very grateful for this on a few occasions when i have had to deal with an emergency on-site so thank you all appello staff for being there for Kingshall

I live in a retirement housing complex and last evening when we called at 9pm when a resident was unwell, we had still not had a response from Apello by 11.30pm when we went to bed after the resident's daughter arrived and an ambulance came. Atrocious service. Someone could have died waiting.
God forbid anyone need Appello in an emergency. Extremely long long response times and if you need to telephone them to discuss an this as an issue you'll be lucky if they'll even pick up!

Appello gives me peace of mind when I am offsite at the end of each working day, and especially when I am away on holiday. I have had one or two "oops" moments - like when I opened my alarmed office window whilst still off site - and the Appello operatives have always been polite, professional and helpful. I know that my residents feel safe and secure with Appello on guard!

House Manager phoned Appello first thing yesterday to say no callers could access my apartment via main door pad. Gave message ‘ resident unavailable’. Was told someone would ring back but no one did. I phoned again this morning and was told engineer would contact. Explained heath risks of this situation. Just tried to ring again but gave up after waiting 10 mins to message telling me my call was important. Thought I would have more luck phoning the complaints number but no, just another message telling me how important my call is.
This is bad enough when one is expecting deliveries or visitors but when one is elderly and moved here to be safer it’s unacceptable.
Excellent service. Very fast response times to calls when online and offline. Residents very pleased with the service they receive. Very prompt to act on call-outs and calls for assistance. Dashboard easy to use, very user friendly and good support.
