Not bad
Not bad, a bit pricey but it revived a 15 year old Brompton, the bike came back cleaned as well, its now looks like a new one.

I needed to bring my bike back to the shop several times because the hub gears weren't adjusted correctly after the initial service. The shop staff were always happy with this, and ultimately sought advice from a really experienced colleague from another branch. My gears are now shifting like a dream. Really grateful.

Highly recommend Balfe's Bikes Sutton
Highly recommend Balfe's Bikes Sutton. I would never class myself as a "proper" cyclist, just enjoy riding my road bike to work. Having walked passed Balfe's many times I felt intimidated that it was for cyclists with really expensive high spec bikes.
I needed a straightforward simple repair and being fed up with inconsistent and complicated service at a major high street chain bike store, decided to call Balfe's and then pop along. They could not have been more helpful and nice to deal with, repair done quickly and efficiently, really reasonably priced. I wasn't made to feel stupid at my lack of technical bike knowledge.
Will definitely be taking my bike to Balfe's
for all of my future bike repair and servicing needs.

We dont think there is such a thing as a "proper" cyclist just cyclists (& therefore customers).
Unfortunately some cycle shops can be a little daunting, particulalrly to non male riders but as you have discovered we are not scary and are welcoming to all.

Will charge you for work you have not arranged for
I took my bike in and asked for a simple job to change my chain and cassette which I know from experience is only a half hour job max. Their Sutton store then decided to give my bike a service as an extra which I did not ask for at the time of booking it in and charged me an hour of labour costs. This resulted in my bill being doubled in cost.

Hi Sarah. I am sorry you were dissatisfied with our service on this occasion, as I know you have been happy with our work previously.
You should have been informed of the full cost when booking and I apologise if that was .not the case. A chain, cassette and cable replacement has always constituted a gear service which is £70. And It may be that you were incorrectly undercharged previously.
We value you custom and would like to offer a discount on future work as a gesture of good will.

From entering the store with my daughter the advice we were given was fantastic.
I returned to pay the deposit and was given options of when I could collect. The team were absolutely brilliant
