This company is just trying to take money off of people in advance and then come up with excuses that they’ve had too much work during the day or they equipment packed up. I feel they’re just scammers and I will be informing trading standards and they have just wasted a good afternoon of mine and thank God I didn’t pay him upfront scammers that’s what they are. Be very aware of these people coming on your doorstep giving you a leaflet and we can clean your gutters complete waste of space they are so I’d be very cautious out there with these people. Trading standards will be investigating them.

Bens gutters came whilst I was not home even though I told a member of staff I was not in until after 2p.m. I waited in not knowing they had done the job by climbing over the garage roof and Perspex roof. I had no opportunity to see that the whole of the guttering had been cleaned, how long the work took etc. sent photos which showed some roof work needed doing but no comment about this.5th June

Jason arrived to clean out our gutters. Arrived in the time stated and done an absolutely brilliant job. Fully recommended.

£120 quoted, gutters cleared by hand and the job seemed fine, I assumed the down pipes had been cleared as well. The lad cleared the gutters by hand with a bucket. Whilst £120 seemed high, I was promised a 3 month guarantee. The gutters started to overflow again within a week, the downpipes clearly hadn't been cleared. I asked them to come back, they agreed, never showed up and then the same again on the second occasion. A waste of money, false promises and false guarantees and overpriced. Avoid.

Firstly Bens Gutters were exceptionally good at my initial contact and having set out the work I required in clearing out blocked gutters and downpipes that were overflowing in heavy rain as well as sealing an end plate ; I accepted the charge of £117 for the gutters /downpipes and a further £25charge to seal one gutter end plate.

There was no other work or issue with my gutters.

Lewis from the company number was very helpful and booked me in for the said work the following day.

I was delighted and as required I prepaid the total £142 charges.

The next day 3/6/26 slightly earlier than advised an agent of Bens Gutters arrived in his liveried vehicle.

I’m not certain but I now believe he may have been Andrej Gigov.

Due to strong winds he said he would not use ladders which was fair enough from an health and safety point of view.

Instead he produced an industrial type vacuum cleaner with a camera on the suction end.

He also said that he would not seal the end plate as it was too wet to do so and adherence might fail.

I could not argue with that logic.

He agreed he would report this non work to Bens gutters in order for them to provide a refund of the £25 pre payment.

From what I saw I was satisfied with the suction work carried out and absent the conduct of any water test to establish if the previous overflows had been cured by the work , he was finished in about 40mins and then left.

That work was circa 4.30pm to 5.10pm.

I was very pleased at that time and responded positively to a survey that they issued very quickly .

Late on the 3/6/26 and despite being assured by the agent attending my home about the refund I emailed Bens Gutters seeking clarification and about it and when I’d receive that refund for the work not conducted but paid for.

Not unsurprisingly given the time of day I heard nothing back.

The following morning 4/6/26 (today) I went outside around 9.30am and noticed a leak in one of the gutter joints that hitherto did not exist.

By 1030am I contacted Bens Gutters on the phone and explained about the leak/ drip post their work only to be advised that someone would call me back. I did not mention the refund not to confuse matters at that time.

At 1.40pm absent any contact I tried emailing Bens Gutters. This time I included both matters.

And I sought clarity of a resolution.

At 1.41pm I had a sort of reply saying Bens gutters were “working on my request” but in the body of their message they cited the work location as at an entirely different post code to my own.

Consequently by email later I corrected the post code of the work and also gave my full address at 8.05pm

At 8.41pm I had a message from a Micheal Richardson purporting to be acting for Bens Gutters but with a “bumblebeesolutions” email address. He advised he was on leave until 9th June. !!!!!

It just seems that I’m being given the complete runaround. Plus I now have a new leaking gutter joint right over where I keep my waste bins which now needs repair. I am not happy.

This is simply awful customer service post attendance and payment .

I also as said have a leaking gutter that hitherto did not exist. And absolutely no idea when I will get a refund for pre paid work not conducted, nor rectification of the new leak caused by their work.

Perhaps someone with an ounce of decency from Bens Gutters company will contact me before the 9th June as opposed to giving me the run around I’ve experienced ; because your post sales service stinks so far.
