Boldin is a great product that continues to improve. The integration with AI is like having a personal retirement tutor with insights into my unique retirement plan rather than generic advice for the masses. It gives me tangible ways to improve my plan, and it increases my retirement confidence. I highly recommend it to anyone considering retirement.

Excellent product, they are continuously innovating and adding new features. Excellent value for the money.

Very solid product. Well designed, great feature set, excellent documentation, support and training. AI component is in beta and is useful in some areas but not so much in others but it is being actively improved.

The tools are some of the best available to an individual. The support is really good, and they listen carefully. If something is missing or could be improved, they are on it.

Great tool/platform for retirement planning. New AI feature is extremely helpful. The CFP offerings are great as well. I find it useful for the roth conversion strategies as well as the interactive coaching on items i am not educated on such as IRMA.

Excellent Retirement Planning Software, but CFP Services Need More Flexibility

I use Boldin’s retirement planning software and was interested in taking advantage of its CFP services for a specific, important financial planning need: developing a tax-efficient Roth conversion strategy.

I have a clearly defined objective and wanted to discuss my situation with a CFP, determine the appropriate scope of work, and pay a reasonable fee for the professional advice I actually need.

Instead, I learned during the initial discovery session that Boldin’s CFP services are restricted to predefined, bundled engagements costing $3,250. There appears to be no option to arrange a more focused consultation tailored to a customer’s specific needs.

My frustration is that I couldn’t even get to the point of discussing my particular situation with a CFP to determine whether a limited engagement would be appropriate. The process seems designed around selling a standardized package rather than first understanding the customer’s needs and exploring potential solutions.

I’m not looking for a free consultation or expecting professional financial advice without paying for it. I’m willing to pay for qualified expertise. I simply want the opportunity to define the scope of the engagement with a CFP and pay for the services that are relevant to my situation.

Roth conversions and tax efficiency can have significant long-term financial implications. A customer who already uses Boldin’s software may need professional guidance on a specific issue rather than a comprehensive financial planning package.

I understand the benefits of standardized service offerings, but I believe Boldin is missing an opportunity by not offering more flexible, à la carte CFP consultations.

My recommendation to Boldin: Give customers the opportunity to discuss their specific needs with a CFP and establish an appropriate scope and fee, rather than requiring everyone to fit into a predetermined package.

I like the concept of combining retirement planning software with access to qualified financial professionals. However, the inflexibility of the current service offerings is disappointing and makes it difficult to recommend the CFP services to someone whose needs fall outside the standard packages.

Great experience. Like the addition of AI chat. But sometimes I have to correct AI like when it tells me my RMDs start at 73 instead of the correct age of 75

Easy to use. Very informational. AI is also good.

Comprehensive planning tool with solid user interface

The interface is well designed for DYI retirement planning and a monitoring. Once you put in all your financial information, you know right where stand. Boldin helps you modify your planning to help you reach your goals. When to retire, how much to save, when to file for benefits, how much to spend. All of the variables can be adjusted and you can see the results of those changes immediately. The AI assistant is fantastic. Be very precise and detailed with your questions to get the best results. If you can be flexible and honest with yourself, Boldin will be the best friend you have in retirement.

I love that I can use my own data and run different scenarios to determine when we'll be able to retire.

The various scenarios and AI help me do comparisons quickly.

I wish a few data elements would be able to be changed by scenario vs going across all scenarios

I am able to run scenarios under different criteria such as when to take Social Security, moving to a zero income tax state and also potential cuts in Social Security in 2032. If I did the outside of Boldin, it would take me much longer. I can have these scenarios pre-run and then consult my hourly CFP.

Continuing to improve user experience with graphs, AI and What If scenarios.

They are a good company that are helping many people manage their own retirement. They lead the industry in innovation and development of their product.

Overall it provides retirement estimates, albeit after a very complicated and difficult setup. It does not appear to use npv which will underestimate the time value of money.
