Buyee 

Alright let's do some math here.

Buyee's Website has a shipping info page which says:

Buyee Air Delivery to europe
1000G = 2589 Yen

My Package is 1900G
so 1900G would be 4919,1 Yen

Instead they say it is 6816 Yen which is more than their shipping info page says.

1300 fee is additionally charged from the shipment from seller to Buyee's warehouse.

So...

they charged 8116 Yen shipping (!!!)

By Buyee's info shipping page it should be
4919,1 Yen shipping + 1300 Seller fee = 6219,1 Yen

Instead they do
6816 Yen + 1300 Yen = 8116 Yen

8116 Yen - 6219,1 Yen = 1896,90

So i should've been charged: 6219,1 Yen (44,91 euro) for shipping
Instead i've been charged: 8116 Yen (58,62 euro) for shipping

1896,90 Yen has been charged too much (Or is taken extra as scam?)
1896,90 yen = 13,68 euro

Therefore i have been charged way too much for the shipping.

Buyee is an absolute scam. Everything looks fine, until you get to the shipping part. Many options unavailabe (Probably on purpose) So you either have to pay a LOT!!! in order to have it arrive early, or still pay a lot but not as much, but wait for 3 months to have your package arrive.

Now i'm happy with my product and all, but Buyee itself is a absolute scam. And besides that Buyee also askes for biased reviews, and promotes many youtubes so it looks like their website seems amazing while it is a big as scam.

Don't fall for it guys. Or when you do count at least 50 bucks on top of what you won from an auction as to not get disappointed by being way too overpriced

They were good but they went downhill.

It's insanely overpriced and as soon as my packages come I'm going to move over to another proxy.

They deliberately use extremely larger boxes to ship your items just to inflate your shipping cost. Very dishonest. Stop cheating your customers if you want to stay in the business

HAVENT BROUGHT FROM BUYEE - my friend was freaking out about having bought figurines on a dodgy website. After having a look, she said it was buyee and that she saw super mixed reviews - 4.4 rating on trustpilot and then somehow also a 2 rating on here. Had a look and saw that the ACTUAL buyee ends in .jp, for japan. This buyee is a scam, capitalising off the similar name, being buyee.com instead of buyee.jp. Sorry for the long winded explanation, just want to make it clear so people dont get scammed.

Their customer service is a joke. All they do is
write excuses and nonsense. If you use their
DHL shipping service (they dont tell you it is DHL),
when they write the invoice they make up any description they want which causes expense to the receiver in terms of extra VAT/taxes etc.
Highly unprofessional company. A disgrace to Japan!

I should have read these reviews about Buyee here. The shipping cost is an insane SCAM. I wonder why Buyee thinks that it’s ok not to tell you the shipping amount, which amounts up to $253. You find out about the shipping cost at the point of no return, after you can no longer cancel the order. The books themselves cost $38. Shipping is 6.6x the cost of the product. LOL! I recommend using Amazon.jp if you wanna buy something from Japan.

My package hasn't arrived after almost 5 months now. Buyee don't reply my messages...the package cost me like 200€ with the charges included...
I will never purchase from them again.

Edit:// After 7 months the package arrived to my country and I finally got the parcel. However I moved to another city in this 7 month waiting time and I had to pay a fee to forward the parcel to my new address.

Very, very bad buyee.jp.
First, they offer discount coupons to use their services in exchange for positive reviews on this trustpilot site and other similar sites, and this is not allowed and correct. This is the onesty of buyee Japan! If what you buy through buyee does not arrive,is lost or stolen during international transport they do not open any complaints to the Japanese post office, if you choose lite plan (the economic purchase plan) they are no longer responsible for anything, so if the package not arrives because is lost or stolen, they will not tell the Japanese post office also just for one time to make a claim
and so will be less chance that the package will arrive at its destination.
I wrote many messages to buyee where I asked to
do the investigation at the Japanese post office,
just for one time courtesy and I would never have asked to do it again in the future,
but the answer has always been no, they say
that did not do it because I had chosen lite plan.
So, you buy from "buyee", you pay and if you do not receive nothing because the package is lost or stolen you have no support from them I absolutely do not recommend using this site for purchases in Japan

SCAM ALERT. I spent thousands of dollars on buyee fees and services and then they refused to send 21 items I purchased and paid for in full. The site is a scam. Their agent offer no service and often make ZERO sense. Their reason for stealing from me was because one of the items had a battery inside it. Previously they would offer to throw away the battery but this time they said they didn't have the tools. Tools??? What a joke. Getting a reply takes an entire day and they just say the same thing. I'll never use this over priced service again. Trying to contact paypal to report these scammers and try to get my money back. I HATE BUYEE.

Exchange rate is extremely low, in my case was difference 3.5% with official (for example at yahoo finance) as for now
OFFICIAL USD/JPY = 111.91
BUYEE offered only 108.08
So, they charging 3.5% extra for ex currency only!!!

Another thing - 10% consumption tax, it’s same as VAT or GST and refundable after export to exporter (consignor)

But BUYEE charging us consumption tax and withholding full amount all the time.
This is considered hidden commission.
3.5%-5% - extra profit from currency exchange
10% - extra profit (consumption tax)

EXPENSIVE FEES
- Always pay 500 yen fee: If you choose this one, you've the right to NOTHING. They'll purchase the item with your money, that's it.
I thought this applied only to losses/damage/missing items within Japan (which hardly ever happens) and you would still be covered by the international Japan post shipping, and you're, they've the right as the sender to open a claim. But they will NOT open a dispute with Japan Post, because they won't bother to do so, for you didn't pay for a better plan, which is:
- Extra 500 yen for INSPECTION AND INSURANCE, in case of loss or damage (even on international tracked shipping).
- Extra 500 yen for CHANGING FOR A BETTER PACKAGE, and trust me, they'll ship it in bubble warp (without package) if that's how the original seller sent it. I've received things in flexible cardboard. I usually joined shipping, because I knew they would at least ship it in a box. No matter how bad the package is, they won't warn you.
You should have blindly paid, in their minds.
- Extra 500 yen for PACKAGE CONSOLIDATION, for each package, or 1500 yen to join 3 or more packages at once. If it's not at once, you still pay 500 yen per each item.

ISSUES ABOUT JOINING PACKAGES
- WON'T CHANGE THE ORIGINAL PACKAGE: If you just join shipping (without picking the other package options).
I've received very small items on giant boxes, making me over pay shipping to have a giant box shipped - they don't care.
- CAN'T HAVE A PREVIEW ON SHIPPING COSTS: I could never understand why you PAY for joining packages, but you can't you see how much it'll cost first.
- ONCE THE PACKAGES ARE JOINED, YOU CAN'T SEPARATE THEM (so it's a shot in the dark): That's it, you can't separate them again, no matter how ridiculous the shipping cost got and remember, you don't get a preview first.

DISHONEST CHARGES
- SHIPPING: They over charge it a lot, about 10-15€ more than it actually costs (around $17).
Easy to find out by searching the weight of your package on the shipping services, keeping in mind they probably have deals being a company, which means they pay even less.
Sometimes the original price even appears on your package and the weight will always appear, being sometimes lighter than Buyee claimed.
- CURRENCY CONVERTER: Their currency converter is wrong, adding more money than the actual item cost. You can easily find this out by searching the same item on another deputy services, or even by converting it on google into your currency. You'll find out they always overcharge.

TOO LIMITED to certain websites
Unlike most deputy services, buyee won't accept other requests, to purchase from websites that are not on their list.

COSTUMER SERVICE
HORRIBLE. I'm not a native english speaker either, but I do my best to make sense, they don't. They always spoke to me with arrogance, even if I wrote to them with all the respect. It was always a bad experience, no matter to who I spoke to.

STRONG POINTS
- Website blends well with the original websites, however, you've to search one website at the time, not allowing you to search all at the same time, like other deputy services do.
- They are the only one I know of that buys in the same minute from mercari, being their only really positive point.

For a 300-500 yen fee (depending on the website) using another proxy, I get:
- INSPECTION AND INSURANCE,
- CHANGING FOR A BETTER PACKAGE
- PACKAGE CONSOLIDATION
- NO DISHONEST CHARGES
- NOT AS LIMITED to certain websites
- Same PAYMENT methods
- More COUPONS
- Better COSTUMER SERVICE

I used to like buyee although they were expensive because I never had an issue with them.
Now that I did, my choice is obvious, I changed my proxy service and I'm happy with it, hardly going back to buyee.

I opened a dispute on paypal for an item never came and they want me to ship it back (and pay for shipping costs). An item I never got from them on the first place.

Avoid this company at any cot! Will charge you crazy storage fees. No common sense. No intention to work out a solution with customer who has spent close to 10K. They were asking me over $600 on storage fee extension due covid.

Great opportunity to shop in Japan Buyee is a very supportive co and will reply to all concerned parties Im thrilled to have access to so many Japanese sites knowing my items will be safely shipped They even add additional secure packaging at a fair price

Other poor reviews are accurate regarding customer service.

I am based in the U.K and ordered a extremely fragile item on Buyee. From the description, the seller stated that the item was located in the U.K and advertised £5 shipping to U.K addresses. The item is also very sentimental.

Buyee is now insiting that the item is shipped from the seller in the U.K to Japan and then back to me in the U.K from Buyee. Have complained to no avail - customer service not willing or able to help.

Completely uneccesary which will cause risk of damage during uneccesary transit not to mention additional cost (approx £70, which is more than the item itself).

Watch out if the item is described as being located in the U.K. Buyee will force the seller to send it to Japan only for it to be sent back to you at your cost (you pay both the seller's and Buyee's shipping)!

I can understand that in most cases the item will be located in Japan - in which case the service Buyee provide may work well but in my situation the lack of common sense is extremely concerning. I will update this review if situation changes and update regarding status of item when it arrives.

***UPDATE***

Customer Service sent the same generic reply refusing to help before they stopped responding altogether. The item ended up being sent to Japan and then back to me. Shipping ended up costing approx £50 for UK -> Japan -> UK rather than the £5 it would have been from UK -> UK. Thankfully though the item arrived in one piece.

They don’t listen when you email them if something goes wrong; they overcharged; they mislabel things. Unscrupulous, dishonest, incompetent. Use a different service.

I've been using Buyee to buy items from Japan. I have never had a problem with any purchase I've made. The fees are reasonable with several shipping options.

Buyee does not allow you to choose your own courier. They will choose it for you between DHL FedEx and EMS.
EMS is very slow and I am willing to pay extra to upgrade to DHL, but Buyee doesn't allow that.

Dont buy from here! They are basically scammers. None of my stuff arrived and they dont care. I luckily paid with paypal

It's very good! I'd recommend to keep extra money for the service fee and shipping if you're prepared for that, but overall it's a very good place! Never had any problems so far, and glad I haven't had any. I'd recommend if you can't get a certain thing you want in the US! There's also a lot of things for very cheap on places like Mercari JP! Very helpful!

Be aware of this company. They have listed many shipping companies and charge only DHL triple the price. The item arrived damaged and with missing very important items. I wrote them many emails and all I got was computer-generated messages. Very bad service.
