I brought a car 8 weeks ago - had it delivered only to brake down on the same night in the city.
Agreed I would choose a different car and I paid another £2k (£8500) - unfortunately I was taken into hospital a few days later - As the car has stood for four weeks I thought I’d get Renault to service properly and do a health check - undertray missing - timing belt at risk - oil iffy indicating service due even though this was supposed to be done.

Appreciate it’s a main dealer who has checked but now facing a £1500+ bill to ensure car is safe and reliable.

Could have left chain and claimed under guarantee but that ain’t worth the paper it’s written on £300 limit.

Extremely disappointed.

Avoid at all costs terrible experience. We bought a car mini cooper after 6 days it broke down on the motorway. AA man diagnosed timing chain had slipped.

Car hub Birmingham picked up the car the next day. After alot of emails they come back with there is a hole in the sump and it's emptied the oil.
I informed them that when the car left my home address there was no hole in the sump, there is no oil outside my house or on the hard shoulder of the motorway. They will not refund our money as they say it was OK at the point of sale. They say the AA man is wrong with his diagnosis as the chain is still in tact. They have also left in the sales pack a gentleman's details who bought the car previously and refused delivery. This is a breach of data protection.

Be warned people. They tell lies.

Update. Thank you for your reply however that is not quite true what you have stated. I received a picture of a damaged sump not a video. After the salvage company had picked up the car i kept checking on Autotrader low and behold the car turned up eventually for sale. The advert clearly states a new clutch which was fitted by yourselves and a new timing chain. So the people who bought the car wouldn't fit a new timing chain if it wasn't needed. No mention of fitting a new sump. I have photographic evidence of the advert on Autotrader. You did not transport the vehicle to the Auction house. The salvage company who bought the car sent a recovery vehicle for collection. He phoned me on the day to say he was there. I phoned your office and asked if you could let the gentleman have the keys to the car. This is fact people, they continue to tell lies. I acknowledged receiving a photo of a damaged sump, i didn't say it was definitely the car could of been any sump. The car was not purchased by a dealer it was purchased by a trader, big difference. If they fitted a new engine the advert would of stated a new engine had been fitted but it didn't. It said a new clutch and a new timing chain. I have read all your bad reviews and replies that have all been done over a 4 hour time frame. It would seem car central are unwilling to admit they are wrong. There customer service is appalling. Avoid at all costs. Update. First of all you say you sent a video, that's a lie. Yes I received a picture of a sump could of been any car. Lie 2 you say you transported the car to the Auction house the salvage company picked up the car themselves. Lie 3 you say i refuse to accept what you and the AA have decided. I've been told the AA are keeping car central under review as they are inundated with complaints. These are on top of the lies beforehand. You state the dealer should of put in the advert the car had a new engine. If it had an engine the trader would of put it in. It is normal for a trader to buy salvage to put back on the road. However a reputable dealer only deals in reputable cars unlike yourselves. The statement you made about the trader buying scrap cars made me laugh that says it all, thank you.

When problems occurred soon after delivery with the car, we raised them with the sales team who have been rude, aggressive and threatening towards me and my family. I’ve asked for confirmation of the parts used and where they were purchased from along with documentation of payments made by the warranty company Blackstar warranties all of which has gone unanswered.
