Worst credit card ever
Worst credit card ever! I have two citibank credit cards and they cut my limit from $1000 down to $310 on one of my cards. I've never, ever been late on any of my cards. I called and tried to ask them why and the customer service representative didn't even speak good English
I cut up both my Citi cards and locked both accounts.(I'm just going to pay them off and never use again) They have an F rating with the BBB and nothing but BAD reviews on google. Don't ever apply for this card! It's trash!
It is the world's worst bank ever
It is the world's worst bank ever. I have never experienced such a poor customer experience with any other banks.
Not recommended at all.
They closed out my credit card account…
They closed out my credit card account for 16 years with no notice or warning. It had been inactive for a while, so I understand they may have wanted to ensure it is still valid, but they have yet to contact me. I am trying to buy a house, and the sudden closure dropped my credit report by 10 points. And now they want to pull my credit to re-open, which will drop it even more.

I was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. They did surgery a week ago Tuesday and found massive spread. They closed me back up and gave me 4 to 5 months to live. I've never missed a payment in my life. I called all creditors and made arrangements to get my affairs situated and all balances paid. Hopefully with some consideration for hardship. Every company ACCEPT Citibank offered some help. Citibank, without notice closed my account. What an immoral, dirty, sinful company Citibank is. They literally closed my account because I'm dying of cancer!!!!
Horrendously Difficult Banking!
Im not even sure where to begin with Citibank...
-App is extremely poor very limited in what you can do
-Every time I go to login on the website it takes 3-4 attempts with a 10minute security block out between every time, so I basically cant use this option as it is frustrating as hell
-customer service extremely poor
-I have to contact the bank via phone (minimum 30min process) every time I want to make a forward payment on a loan!
Do yourselves a favour and use anyone but citibank, even if you have to pay more fees / higher rates!

home depot credit card- No humans to talk to. Hardly use the card (typically as a back up if I dont have my biz card), because when i do making a payment takes 20 min listening to all the stupid recordings explaining and OVER explaining why they suck and wasting my time.- should be a 2 min call.
Inconvenient and seems shady. BS.
Money in my checking account never returned
I had a checking with citibank which they closed on me nearly a year ago and they still have not returned my money to me that was in the account. On four occasions they promised to send me a check which has never arrived. Worst costomer service ever! Many of the people I spoke with I could bearly understand with their poor English!
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
I called the customer service line to block a pending transaction and the rep told me it can’t be done. I asked to speak to a manager and he said “please call us back at another time” and hung up. I’ll be closing my card and will not do business at this financial institution. It looks like most of Citi’s customers are having issues with customer service.
Impossible service
Impossible and Terrible customer service. Disappointing level of services, made to do simple banking instructions (setting up
Direct debit, standing orders)
Absolute terrible customer service
Absolute terrible customer service and application process. I will never recommend or apply for a credit card.
I applied for a credit card with a "very good" credit score of 762 while I was abroad, and the application was declined because CITI wasn't able to reach me via my mobile.
No email, no voice mail, no notification that the application was declined.
I had to call customer service to find out it was declined by their internal authentication. The consultant was unable to review/reopen the application and I was refused the opportunity to speak to a supervisor.
I was advised to re-apply and risk hurting my credit score. Absolute ridiculous.

They’re so nice to me at my local branch. I’m always happy to stop in there the lines aren’t that long and they’re really helpful for whatever I’ve ever needed to do there in person.
DO NOT DO ONLINE BANKING WITH CITIBANK
I had an online savings account with Citibank. I attempted to wire transfer funds to the account and the transfer was denied. After dealing with eleven customer support reps and spending 6.5 hours on the phone, my $117,000.00 is being held hostage. I can't wire funds to or from the account and have been prevented from adding another outside financial institution to do so.
Customer Service (I use that term lightly) was of no help and my only option is to have them send me a check to close the account which will take fifteen business days of which I am losing interest.
Abysmal Customer Service
I applied for a Citibank credit card today, so that I could have access to a concert presale that is only available to Citibank credit card holders. I explained to the rep that I needed access to my account today and she told me that she would be able to provide me with the new account information over the phone as soon as I was approved. I wanted to make sure, so she confirmed this several more times before we proceeded. She even switched me to a card that would give me instant access to my account upon aproval. I applied over the phone with her and was approved. She then tried to quickly end the call. I asked her for my account information and she stated that she couldn't give me that information and I would have to wait 7-10 days for my card to come in the mail. She then said that if I had applied online, I would have been able to access that information, but since I did it by phone, she couldn't help me. I asked her why she confirmed with me no less than 3 times before I applied that she would be able to give me the account information over the phone as soon as I was approved and she had no answer. I then spoke to a supervisor who told me that there was nothing she could do, but she would be sure to reprimand the person who took my application. I stated that none of that helps me in my situation, but she said that there was nothing she could do for me. All of the bank's customer service is located in the Phillipines and they clearly cannot understand English. They were unable to do anything to help me. When I stated that I wanted to cancel the card, they told me that I would have to wait the 7-10 days for the card to come in the mail in order to cancel.

Beware Home Depot's credit card from CitiBank
Update 10/21/22: Just received for the 4th day in a row with the same results when I click through to the website. This is now bordering on harrassment!
Beware Home Depot's credit card from CitiBank
I have had my account with CitiBank/HomeDepot for years. About once a month, I would receive an email with a promotional offer(10% off or free financing).
Three days ago, I received an email with the subject "Exclusive offers just for you". The email came from CitiBank and had a link for me to login to my Citi/HD account to view my "exclusive offers".So, I clicked on it and logged in to my "Offers" page, which was devoid of ANY offers whatsoever. I called in to find out what was going on and was told it must've been a computer glitch and it would be reported to the right dept and it would be taken care of.
Exactly 24 hours later, I received the identical email.
So, I tried once again to login and view my "exclusive offers". Same result. There were none. Now, it went past confusing to annoying and I called back in.
Was told it would be escalated and taken care of immediately.
The very next day, I received yet another copy (#3) of the exact same email and clicking on the link yielded the same non-results. Now, I was getting angry and called back in and asked for a supervisor, as I had gotten nowhere with Citibank reps. I was transferred to an extremely rude manager who, after listening to the situation, informed me there was nothing they could do to fix the issue! I had but 2 options.
I could either stop receiving all promotional emails, thus preventing me from getting the occasional 10% off or free financing offers or just keep getting these blatantly false emails and keep clicking on the links to see if any offers show up. When I opined that made no sense, I was basically told take it or leave it, there was nothing else they could (or would) do.
This is totally ridiculous and the attitude of the manager was completely unacceptable.
'We're sending you invalid emails everyday and you either put up with it or stop getting any real promotional offers'. It appears Citibank's policies for promoting employees to management is based solely upon who can be the rudest and least helpful to the customer.
Now, I'm off to Lowe's to make some purchases.
I asked to be issued a new Wayfair card…
I asked to be issued a new Wayfair card due to my old one expiring. I had never used the old one but I was moving so I wanted to make a purchase using it. I was told that when it appeared on my Wayfair app that it was ready for use. Couldn’t process the transaction and the helpful people at Wayfair told me that it was on citibank’s end. I talked to almost 2 dozen people only 2 spoke good English. By the end of it I gave my SS number to what feels like half the orients. I had to give them a bank account number 2 debit card numbers they had to text me about 40 times to verify I’m me. Tried to brush me off and say oh it’s probably this and oh it’s probably that and only got it resolved when I persisted on talking to a manager. The whole thing was because they never removed my old card from the account. Which to add insult was one of the first things 2 different Wayfair agents who were bridged into the call asked half of the people working on my issue.

Citibank doesn't care about its customers.
I opened a credit card account with Citi in July 2013 and, according to my Experian credit report, had a perfect payment history with them until after I was involved in a near-fatal airplane crash earlier this year (2022) and two payments "fell through the cracks" (May and June 2022) while I was recuperating from five different surgeries. I reached out to Citi via email, emailing various Citi executives and on September 23, 2022, I was contacted via telephone by a representative or liaison for Citi's executive team. This Citi representative stated Citi had indeed received my email, which contained a link to an online story about my airplane crash done by an NBC affiliate station, that proved my crash and the severity of same. The Citi representative stated they no longer routinely grant "goodwill" reviews of accounts but they would look at my account due to the circumstances that caused the late payments (an airplane crash!). I have not received any further communication from Citi but they did note on my Experian credit report, "Dispute resolved – consumer disagrees" and there was no change to the status of the two late payments. I have read on several different financial forums that some credit card companies will remove the late payments and mark the missed payments as "no information available."
After having my Citi credit card for more than 9 years with a perfect pay history, and considering the circumstances surrounding the airplane crash and my injuries, I was hopeful Citi would have a heart and make an exception to their "goodwill" policy and change the May and June 2022 late status to "no information available" but ...
I am trying to send a zelle payment
I am trying to send a zelle payment, citibuisness representatives have hung up on me twice. They are unable to transfer a call. This has been the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Moving all our accounts next week. I strongly suggest everyone else does the same. don't waste your time with this bank

One of the worst customer services I have ever delt with. Web Site has a 2-Authenication Method glitch and it has been taking an act of congree to get someone to understand. Their wait times are really bad and when you do get someone it is from another third party customer service vendor that knows nothing about Citi. I am really considering closing my accounts.

They keep allocating my payments to the wrong balance transfer offer. Then they will say they fixed it then the next month they charge me 22% interest. Then they reverse it again and it’s just a cycle that’s been ongoing since April 2022. Their customer service representatives online are rude as well. Spoke to someone from citi named Edward on a chat who just argued with me. Very combative. They just can’t get it right. Closing the account in a couple months once the balance is paid off
