The most appalling apology for a radio station in the history of the world. Most presenters are utterly clueless morons, there are endless reminders that ‘you are listening to Classic FM’ and the ridiculous ‘Cash calls’. It’s all an insult to te intelligence if the listener. I would give it a sub-zero rating if I could

I’ve been an avid Classic FM listener for well over 20 years, so it genuinely saddens me to leave a 1-star review.

The station has become absolutely inundated with adverts, and the constant promotion of Cash Call has become unbearable. It feels as though this has been relentlessly plugged for nearly a full year now, to the point where it seriously detracts from what used to make Classic FM such an enjoyable and relaxing station to listen to.

I even paid for the annual subscription specifically to get away from the adverts, only to discover that it doesn’t work properly with smart speakers — which, for me, makes the subscription largely pointless. I’ve also read reviews from other subscribers saying that they still hear the dreadful Cash Call promotions even after paying.

After more than two decades of listening, I’ve finally had enough and will be moving over to BBC Radio 3 instead.

I’m incredibly disappointed by what Global has done to Classic FM. What was once a wonderful, calming classical music station now feels overwhelmed by advertising and relentless promotions.

Such a shame. After 20+ years as a loyal listener, I never thought I’d be switching off for good.

Farewell Classic FM, I’m afraid you’ve lost me to BBC Radio 3. The constant repetitive plugging of big money cash draws… effectively forcing your talented team of presenters to encourage listeners to gamble… has become too much to bear. I can’t imagine for a moment that this sits comfortably with devout Christian, Dan Walker. Goodbye Classic FM

Please, please stop picking up Fred. This advert is driving me insane and I have to switch the radio off for 30 mins to calm down.
I also agree with the other users about the continual droning on about their huge jackpot.

Used to listen to classic fm regularly and really enjoyed it but there is now more adverts then there as ever been which spoils the listening experience. Seems to coincide with the station wanting you to pay for ad free listening.
I also find since they moved the presenters to different slots, its not as good

Dire frustration at number of intrusive ads 2026 on this previously much-loved station. Worst of all, the current CASHCALL, such endless, endless garbage. I just tried the new, ad-free subscription. 7 day day free trial, but guess what, it doesn't cut out any of the cashcall garbage. Complete and utter waste of time. So it's finally GOODBYE GLOBAL from me, thanks for ruining classic fm.

As many others have said, repetitive music selection and ghastly intrusive adverts are now compounded by messages sent via my phone/Alexa app to interact with them. BUT, they are making oodles of lovely money so why should they care?

I would like to put on record my disappointment that Classic FM now promotes gambling, seemingly throughout the week.
I have enjoyed content from Classic for many years, and hope to continue to do so, but the Cash Call advertisements are very intrusive.

Love Classic FM but hate their adverts. Since Classic FM was taken over by Global Radio the adverts have become horribly intrusive, with loud banging music or shouting (Aldi advert in particular). I suspect this is because Global sell an advertising package that covers its other radio stations so the advertiser is not tailoring their adverts specifically to Classic FM listeners. So I've taken to doing what another reviewer suggests - I've put Radio 3 on a pre-set and when the adverts come on I switch over. After 5 minutes or so I switch back (unless they have better music on Radio 3). LOL.

The frequent repetition of the advert for the gambling ,'Cash Call,' which must be making the owners a fortune, detracts enormously from the good music.
It is immoral

Myleene Klass is without a doubt one of the best radio presenters on Classic FM. Her prolific knowledge of classical
music and her ingenuous choices are the reason I kick back and listen to Classic FM. Thank you Myleene.

Marching band music at 3.30 in the morning! I turned on for some relaxing classic music and was subjected to just noise! I swear the "presenters" just go away and leave on the longest piece of music they can find, regardless of their audience's wishes.

I used to love Classic FM. It was the only Radio Station I would ever listen to - right from the start. But their repetitive loop of the same tracks over and over and over again is so sick making - I no longer listen - I would rather have 'silence'. The only people who continue to listen to this as far as I'm concerned are 'brain-dead'! As brain dead as the people running it - but at least they are running happily all the way to the bank! And for Presenters; from the status of Alexander Armstrong (and others) have gone way down in my estimation for even working for it... You can hardly say he's trapped for cash - and so what's his excuse, other than he doesn't care a jot so long as he's getting paid...

So repetitive. There's a 'Hall of Fame' hour and '3 at 3' hour but let's face it, all you hear throughout the day is music from the top 300. The same choices of music day in, day out. Please let us hear something different!

I used to be a devoted Classic FM listener. Especially in my home country of South Africa, where Classic was a delight to listen to. Unfortunately Classic FM here in the UK has deteriorated in my view. As with many other complaints I read, there are too many adverts and too much reliance on certain composers. I’m sure that apart from Carl Jenkins, there are many other outstanding composers. My other serious complaint is that the quality of presenters needs serious review. Where has Alexander Armstrong disappeared to? I have always found him highly entertaining and knowledgeable. I think that the morning presenters believe they are running a pop radio.
BBC 3 offers a slightly better alternative now, but sadly not the best.

I used to listen a lot to Classic FM and enjoyed it. But now it seems we can't have it on for more than 10 minutes without someone banging on about winning a fortune in their lottery... even though the odds are miniscule. Now we listen in the mornings until the first plug for this rip-off and then tuirn to another channel for the day.

Have listened to ClassicFM ever since it started, but am getting very fed up with it. Cash Call is bad enough, but the cancer adverts, which seem to come on every 20 mins, are intolerable. I know Classic is a commercial station, & funded by adverts, but the constant cancer ones feel like brainwashing/gaslighting, & defeat any relaxing vibe the station is trying to create. Enough already.

Well used to be my favourite radio station to listen to.
Now I can’t stand the radio
Because of constant advertisements
And into it the cash competition constantly repeating same again and again.
It feels you it’s not radio for classical music to listen but for advertising.
Honestly disgusting.

On top evening classic fm relax 10am ,
Imagine you are enjoying relaxing music
And then they put into it rubbish advertisements. You just lose the test to anymore listen and relax is gone.
Why it calls relax that I have no idea as
When I hear those advertisements I want to throw the radio out of window.

You should be really ashamed what you have done with used to be best station for classical music .
