Chesterfield.
Impressed by the vegan range of cakes. Especially as local vegetarian and vegan cafes have closed recently.

Avoid. More dogs than people, so truly horrible. Aside of hygiene issues, they all periodically barked at each other so the atmosphere was awful and definitely not relaxing. I left before I even ordered.

Called in to Leek Branch. Took 20 mins to get served. Eventually got served to be told no oat milk, no bread, granola or teacakes. Won't be rushing back to this branch anytime soon.

I went to Coffee #1 on Saturday afternoon to meet my friend with my daughter who is 1.5yrs old.
20 minutes into us being there a member of staff came over to me and said,
‘Just to let me know , and I know there’s not a lot you can do, but there’s been some complaints (or a complaint can’t remember which ) about the noise she’s making’.
My daughter was squealing with such delight and happiness at standing up her little toy figures and seeing dogs in the cafe.
I was Completely shocked and so hurt by this, as she was doing nothing wrong, and she was being so good,
I couldn’t believe a member of staff came to tell me this! Why did she not say to the person who said this, it’s a child and there’s nothing we can do, but instead she validated the complaint by coming over to me.
My daughter wasn’t screaming or shouting or throwing things, she was so happy and excited!
We got up and sat outside because I did get upset as I couldn’t believe what had been said to me.
I love that she’s so excited about life and her surroundings !
I didn’t want this ridiculous complaint about my very happy daughter to to ruin our afternoon out.
It’s a noisy cafe as everywhere is, we were not in a library or a 5 star restaurant and what a pity the member of staff didn’t take my daughters side, and point this out, instead of taking the side of the grumpy person who spoke to them.

How disappointing, went into Kidderminster branch yesterday. The coffee shop was quiet, but the experience wasn’t up to its usual standard. Tables not cleared, the coffee was bitter but the worst was the lack of interest shown by the staff.
One member of staff had long hair tied back except for 2 long strands over their face. They constantly touched their face and hair and then without any hand hygiene touched various items like cups. I think the Manager needs to get some staff training done. Such a shame as normally a very friendly , clean place to enjoy a coffee

What didn't go wrong! A burnt sausage bun, a rock hard tuna panini & warm coffee!!! All of which took 25 mins to serve from ordering!! A big no thankyou to Coffee#1 from now on, which have previously been my #1 coffee shop! Very sad!
When I complained about the coffee he refused to replace it! What??!!!

Always 5 star at Telford. Staff are so friendly, helpful and work extremely hard. Never faulted. Best coffee and staff around.

Couldn't be more friendly if they tried! Lovely site just off the main car park on the high street in Buxton, good seating outside if its warm and comfortable seating inside - for the rest of the year😂. Good atmosphere and it's highly recommended, prices aren't bad either!

Why is the service in most coffee 1 shops sooo slow?? No smiles, no "won't be a moment", just stand at the counter until somebody decides to acknowledge, then shoved to the end of the bar to wait even longer..... why aren't the big cheeses taking any notice of the reviews? 2.4 rating is awful and no wonder

Visited the Telford branch, no idea why so low stars?
Amazing coffee selection and very tasty also great selection of cakes. Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. Also lovely and cool in the hot weather with comfortable seating. Leaves other large chain options in the dust.

Constantly mislead on the price of the coffee. When they ask do you want “dark or medium roast” if you choose the wrong one they charge more for the drink. So how do you know which is the more expensive. A look at the menu gives no clue. An option for the “seasonal roast “ makes no mention of it being the dark or medium roast. So how do you know? Answer: you don’t. Check how much you have been charged. The process of asking the question dark or medium roast is obviously designed to increase profits and deceive customers (personal opinion). Just to clarify the seasonal roast is generally the “medium roast “. How do I know? After questioning the amount charged and being told that I asked for the medium roast. A lengthy discussion with the cashier and pointing how she deceived/ misled me before getting a refund.

Have been to 3 different coffee#1 in the UK and I can tell you they all made the worst coffee I ever had. I could grind up mud into a coffee and it would taste better. For a place dedicated to coffee, and literally named after it, it is absolutely atrocious. I have a new suggestion for the name 'coffee I wouldn't buy if it was the only place on earth serving it' DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Attempted to reach out to customer services to rectify an app and rewards error but the response wasn't very helpful. When I had provided the follow up info they cut the communication. Also asked on a separate occasion about nutritional info but was ignored. Sometimes run out of ingredients such as matcha.

Not sure about bad reviews. This is one of the best coffees out there!

A couple of months ago I had the Nero app - a coffee no. 1 store opened using another account of the app!! There were problems in store and the manager was helping people with Nero apps to sign up

It has now been several weeks of discussion almost daily and still zero resolution. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve asked the question can I use Nero at No. 1 and vice versa … no one has actually answered it

The most common response is we’ve sent a password reset to an email address (never gives me a clue which email address) so a) I never get the reset and b) can’t add my phone number to my account as it’s used for verification - to have one method of verification when it’s potentially wrong on their system causes so many issues

I can even verify my bank by phone or email - and this is coffee not a bank!!!!

This causes so many issues and it’s the same parent company/tech support one app could have been used and cause less issues

Ive gone from being a daily supporter of both Nero and C#1 to avoiding following SEVERAL weeks of trying to resolve and contact with their app

After putting this on here it’s finally sorted 12 weeks was too long

Very very slow service!
Messy shop. Toilets very dirty & no toilet roll.
Coffee okay, but very bitter. We didn’t eat as the cakes looked very dry and old.

I wouldn’t recommend

Coffee 1 Southsea, The internet have issues for the last 2 years, no one bother to report it to get it fixed. I have informed the staffs more than 7 times , nothing have been changed the WiFi still has issues, keep cutting and can not surf. I will not return to this place.

Customer service today was not good by manager I found.
It was only myself and the young boy who was serving his mum.
There was no greeting or acknowledgment, both continued to speak to other person. Tracey the manager eventually looked up and practically looked through me as she walked around corner of the counter and continued on her way!
The young person I understand as he was serving the one person in front.
But I do expect better from a manager. You set the tone, whether it’s the first or last person, regardless of who they are.

But now looking at other reviews, I’m not shocked.
People choose you coffee #1 to support you specifically as home grown local but your customer service (ESPECIALLY) as a manager needs work.
Please Do better.
You got 2 stars because the young man was lovely

Lovely experience at the Banbury store. Really nice baristas and they gave me a card to scan later on the app. Great service!!

Excellent service and coffee at their Newton Abbot Shop . It's always a please to visit there. A big thank you to them all well done.
