Conrex Property Management is without a…
Conrex Property Management is without a doubt the least professional, most conniving, worst business I've ever dealt with regardless of industry, whatsoever.
First the house:
I moved into one of their 3-bedroom homes with a friend of mine looking to add another roommate soon to decrease our portion of the rent. Soon after moving in, our floors bubbled up so badly that you could not open the door to the third bedroom (obviously couldn't get the other roommate in). It took about a month for them to get around to fixing it, and another to get the job done, and in the process, they threw all the old flooring into the yard and did not pick it up - left it for guess who. We asked for credit on the two months when we had two rooms, obviously not expecting 1/3 off each month, but a decent chunk.. ya know? They gave us a $30 credit for the following months rent.
Then, in the middle of the summer, our A/C won't drop below 77. What's their fix? They tell us to just leave the A/C off during the day.
Moving Out:
Because we could not wait to get away from these slime balls, we move out after the year long contract, and tell them we're going to do so three weeks in advance. Bad experience, end of story we thought. About four months later, I get a call from a debt collector, who has now flagged my credit, saying I owe 6k for unpaid rent to this scum company.
I'm warning all who read this: Do not lease from them. If you see a sign in a yard, stay away. They buy old, rundown houses, put some plastic wood-looking material on the floor and a stainless steel fridge to make the house look nice on the inside but quickly and drastically deteriorate, then tell you to go to hell.
Worst customer service I’ve ever…
Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Missed appointment rescheduled and lied about the appointment. Seems to want a paying tenant to leave and take the 1k+ / month somewhere else. The people running the Birmingham office are disrespectful and biased to say the least. I will not be renewing and my advice is to stay away from CONREX!!!

I have rented 2 homes from Conrex the 1st home was awesome, no problems at all. The 2nd home Lord Baby Jesus the home flooded before we moved in, they had to move the tenants out to repair the bottom level. Never told us a thing. The plumbing is old the pipe burst I was standing under it. It was a crappy day lol. The house flooded not once but twice. Every time it rained water would come into the crawl space. House almost caught fire. They would send people out, they would not come back to finish the job. When we would tell them all the issues the contractor would say well Conrex won't authorized us to do that so it never got done. They did the bare minimum to say they did something. The back yard had 5 sink hole from the water running down the hill, I have a 5 year old that wasn't aloud to play in his own backyard. For several months we could not use down stairs, but paid all the rent.
We had mold and mildew growing out of control. They are charging us for things we had no control over.They want to charge us for breaking the lease. I'm not going to have my family live in a dangerous home.
If you choose to rent from them I wish you well. Not 1 star given but I guess I gotta give something but I don't want to

Worst customer service possible
I think this company has a maximum of 5 employees nation wide. Worst customer service imaginable. To start this rant off, it took over 12 days to hear back from this company after paying three 40$ application fees. It was an absolute cluster to get approved to lease this house and it was only possible because i managed to catch the one regional conrex agent at the office just out of luck one day. This should have been a major red flag, but because i had previously toured the property i was inclined to rent it. The house itself was up to standards and honestly a very nice property. During my stay at this property we encountered plumbing issues on several occasions and had the a/c go out less than a week after moving in. Because it is virtually impossible to get ahold of a helpful person through conrex’s customer service line i had to fill out an online maintenance request and it was a total hassle to get it resolved and took well over a week. They sent out a third rate plumbing company that never solved the issues in a single visit and honestly seemed like they could care less. The plumbing at the house would back up on a monthly basis and it has been a major pain in the a**. The customer service department of conrex is essentially non existent and if you want to quickly resolve an issue without screaming at your phone during a 30 minute hold time listening to elevator music you can forget about it. Instead you can enjoy getting transferred between confused conrex offices thousands of miles away from you who seem annoyed that you even called them. Conrex holds entirely too many properties to have such an unorganized and unhelpful customer service department. The monthly rent on this property was $1585 a month and i would have been fine with paying that if i hadn’t encountered constant issues throughout my lease. Every review i have read on Conrex complains about awful customer service so you would really think these clowns would either outsource their customer service department or hire more people but i guess not. Will never rent from these scumbaggs again

House in Florissant. Do not rent through them this is the worst experience I had dealing with a housing company. They houses seem to be beautiful look wise but I had plumbing problem since I moved in all my kids clothes n bedroom set are full of mold cuz I didn’t catch the leak n time. We applied for a rental property the day it was listed for rent of course it cost us 90.00 to complete the application. 14 days later we have not heard a word from them. I have sent a few emails and left messages at the number listed.No response back what so ever. If we didn’t get approved fine but at least make us aware of why so we can move on as we are actively seeking a place to move.Horrible customer service.

A disaster from the very beginning. DO NOT RENT FROM CONREX MANAGEMENT. You will regret it.
We moved from halfway across the United States for my husband's job as an air ambulance pilot and made it very clear that we would not be able to personally view the property before moving day. They required us to sign all the documentation in order to get utilities turned on, including the contract stating that we had seen the property, and with no other options having a Doberman, we went with them. We trusted that when their website states they "ensure" that they maintain the highest standards for their properties, that they would in fact do so. They had already scammed us out of the $600 promotional rate they had advertised on their website (false advertising: criminal offense in the state of Alabama). But imagine our surprise when we arrive to the property to literal TRASH everywhere. We then had to wait outside the home because no one would answer their phones to give us the access information to get in. As soon as we finally were able to open the door, we were assaulted by the smell of rodent urine and feces and the musty carpets. It was so clear from the moment we walked in that the home had not been cleaned, painted, or inspected. We contacted them about all the issues and they sent a pest control guy who literally told us to buy wintergreen oil to combat the smell. WE ARE PAYING MORE THAN $1,200 A MONTH FOR RENT to live in a rat's nest! The bathrooms were DISGUSTING, the kitchen UNUSABLE as ALL of the cabinets were full of roach droppings. Dead bugs everywhere. Mold in both bathrooms. Doors rusted off the hinges. They sent a cleaning person to come and she literally said that she didn't even know this was a Conrex property. This same sentiment was echoed by the pest control contractor and the plumbing contractor. The upstairs tub was clogged and literally filled up with dead bugs when we tried to use it. The upstairs toilet was unusable. Upon comparison to the image on Zillow, this home looked NOTHING like the bright home and beautiful lawn as the images were clearly edited. We endured the weekend because we literally had no other choice as they do not operate, answer phones, or offer any communication during weekend hours, and when my husband showed up Monday morning, they tried to get out of it with lame excuses about Covid-19, etc. but my husband insisted and they came to the property to do the inspection they should have done LONG BEFORE we moved in. Turns out NOTHING had been done to this home since the previous occupants more than four months prior when Conrex had acquired the home. Neither the property manager nor the inspection manager even knew about this home that was listed on THEIR website AND Zillow! Their excuse was, "With 1,800 homes, sometimes one 'slips through the cracks'". They reluctantly apologized and said they would move us to a different home. But no homes are in our price range so they said we would have to pay the difference. We explained that that is THEIR problem, not ours. We moved here and they "ensure" on their website in multiple places that ALL Conrex homes are renovated and inspected to meet or exceed expectations. It is not our fault they breached the contract. We cannot increase our budget by $200 a month because of their lack of due diligence. And now they have gone completely silent. Leaving us to sleep in a literal health hazard. They are ignoring all of our phone calls and emails. Gloria has ignored us. Andrea has ignored us. Do not rent from this company. We did not expect our welcome to Birmingham to involve what will likely turn into a legal battle to find a safe, clean home for our children while my husband is saving lives as an EMS pilot. From what I'm only now reading in these reviews, this company should've been shut down long ago. We spoke to our neighbors who are also renting a Conrex property and they echoed very similar nightmares.
