I cannot say enough about this team in Canterbury and especially Janey the manager there. Their knowledge and help is beyond 5 stars. Janey went above and beyond to help me with a courier problem with an online order and as soon as I explained I was struggling receiving it and getting answers she took the problem over and sorted it all out for me to pick up in store. Al the staff are polite friendly and helpful. I really enjoy popping in for my next project and can have a laugh with them. My favourite shop 🥰

I often go to Canterbury Cowling and Wilcox and can rely on excellent advice and good quality products. Today, I received exceptional service from Jack and Luke so helpful and enabling. Really understanding. I got everything I needed at a great price. Thank you.

I popped into the Canterbury branch to get some fine point acrylic pens. While there two other ladies were after the same thing.
The lady who served us was Janey. She gave us her full attention, listened carefully to our requirements and let us try the products.
Eventually we became too much so she asked her colleague Luke Lloyd to look after me. He too was great. New but very helpful and willing to learn about the products. I ended up buying much more that I'd intended.
Both were super helpful.
I love that store.

My online order was damaged by the courier (through no fault of Cowling & Wilcox) - Cowling & Wilcox had excellent, friendly customer service and they refunded me straight away. I would use them again with confidence.

Went to Cowling and Wilcox today to purchase a gift for my sister and the customer service was outstanding. Not only did they have exactly what I was looking for but they found me the best deal and offer with extra 10% student discount on top, I got a beautiful and high quality purchase for an amazing price! Highly recommend!

Luke was really thoughtful & helpful in my search for a specific quality in a product I was not sure even existed!

Jessica was super helpful to this absolute novice to painting. Led me through the whole process and showed me what I would need for my painting friend

Janey gave us some great support from the sidelines and both managed to upsell me three products vs the 1 I intended to buy!

This is now the only place in downtown Canterbury to get art material; but it is always such a pleasure to go in there, where there is always someone to provide expert, friendly and reassuring advice. This Saturday, Jessica and Summer were there to provide this excellent support

at the shoreditch branch yesterday 29th May , Chantelle led a positive team incl Sidney and Samitah cutting a specific piece of unprimed canvas for me to do a large self portrait later. They wrapped it up beautifully.
They couldn't have been more willing and helpful.
They were also kind enough to show interest in my art work on the iceblocked.co.uk web site

Was going to leave a 3 star review but went down to 2 stars when saw that leaving a verified review was just as difficult as making an online order with Cowling and Wilcox. Why's it always so difficult? Would be great if it was more straight forward, I'd use you more.

First visit to Cowling & Wilcox in Shoreditch. Friendly, knowledgeble staff (Sidney, Hayleth and Renoir), who seem to genuinely care about their customers. Will be back for sure.

As an artist working in London i have recently started buying here more often,its one of the few good art shops left.Decent selection of products and pricing is not too bad for this day and age (good canvas deals).
Found the Staff friendly and helpful without being overbearing.One assistant (Chantelle) really gave excellent service helping protect a canvas that i had
to carry quite some way that day.

I visited Canterbury’s Cowling & Wilcox on 02/03/24. The staff were rude & inattentive. I approached a lady to ask about a product and, due to her not wearing a lanyard or any ‘uniform’ of sorts, I asked if she worked here. She responded “obviously” in a very rude manner shocking my girlfriend and I. As an architecture student, I visit regularly and usually the staff are very pleasant, however this was not the case this time. The shop itself is great and has everything you could need for all sorts of art projects, however it is let down by its staff.

Great shop with heaps of items at a very reasonable price. The staff are super welcoming - I would recommend this shop, and I will be returning.

I happened upon the Shoreditch store in July 2023 while walking to another art store along the same road. I was greeted so warmly by the staff who offered to assist me with any queries. I said I wanted to browse and they were kind to let me be. When I was ready to pay, I was quickly and kindly assisted by Chantal who's service was excellent. I would absolutely recommend this store to anyone to loves Art and exploring art materials. I love the examples placed around the store of projects made with the materials they are selling. Their prices are competitive and they have a loyalty scheme. I have returned to this store three times since that first experience and every time I have found the staff welcoming and attentive.

Excellent company and brilliant customer service! I ordered some modelling clay on the weekend and it was sent by the Monday morning. The delivery company didn't fulfill the 'next day' and after I spoke to Cowling & Wilcox they spoke to the delivery company to find out what was going on. Without a clear answer as to where it was, Cowling & Wilcox were going to send another parcel to ensure I'd receive it before Christmas. Within an hour the original parcel 'turned up' - I'm convinced this is due to the enquiry that the team at Cowling & Wilcox made. Due to the late delivery I've also been offered a refund on my extra postage costs. I never felt I'd miss out as Megan and Chris were very conscientious and concerned about ensuring I'd receive my order in time. Thanks so much for all your help. The products are also great quality and very reasonably priced! I'll definitely be buying again in the future. Merry Christmas!
