As a first time buyer with no chain buying a probate property, there could not be a simpler sale. I chose CTW as they were recommended by my estate agent in Manchester and I wanted a quick sale due to external time pressures. I had all my documents ready to go, as did the vendor however Kiran from CTW asked for documents at the last minute, repeatedly asked for documents she already had, and only started the LISA process just before exchange, despite me having frozen my LISA weeks ago on her request. Incorrect documents were sent with incorrect amounts of money (eg the price of my house, how much money the solicitors would receive) which I queried and asked to be corrected and resent for my records. I simply got the response that a locum secretary was responsible for that error. Emails were sent with no text other than “See attached” and it took both myself and my estate agent emailing and calling multiple times to get a response to our contacts. Kiran’s supervisor also had to get involved to get a response for myself and my estate agent from Kiran. As a first time buyer, the process was confusing and frustrating, with no guidance and Kiran seemingly not keeping notes on documents she already had received and not checking her emails. It was a disappointing experience and I cannot recommend CTW as a solicitors practice.

Ultimately I did buy my house but it took a long time for such a simple process with no chain. I would not recommend CTW for a first time buyer, or a simple sale with no chain.

We were so impressed with the work, the attention to detail and the customer service of CTW. Xanthe was just so amenable and measured in her responses to our many questions. Bhaven was always there for us, he was so efficient and helpful. Nirveer and Chloe completed the functionality and effectiveness of this wonderful team.
They got us across the line despite all the issues and we are forever grateful and would highly recommend them.

During a phone call with a supervisor to discuss the file, I experienced remarkably unprofessional behaviour. The supervisor raised her voice, made unfounded assumptions regarding my involvement, and hung up on me mid-conversation. My mother subsequently contacted the firm directly to clarify her instructions, only to be spoken to in a similarly defensive and raised tone.

As someone assisting a family member through a stressful process, I found the complete lack of basic courtesy and professional composure unacceptable.
