WHERE YOU SPEND YOUR MONEY IS YOUR…
WHERE YOU SPEND YOUR MONEY IS YOUR CHOICE. HOWEVER I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE THAT YOU NEVER NEVER EVER BUY A CAR FROM THIS COWBOY OUTFIT, MY OPINION. GOT A NEW 70 PLATE TOYOTA YARIS HYBRID. SHOULD HAVE COLLECTED IT 1ST SEPTEMBER 2020. HOWEVER A SENSOR WASN'T WORKING. SO GOT IT ON THE 8TH. COLLECTED IT AT 1PM AT 3 PM IT WAS GOING BACK ON A RECOVERY WAGON BROKEN DOWN AFTER FIRST SERVICE I WAS TOLD IT NEEDED NEW REAR DISKS AND PADS AS THEY HAD CORRODED. TWO WEEKS AFTER THIS IT BROKE DOWN AGAIN. NOW ITS GOING BACK FIR THE 4TH TIME. IN MY OPINION THIS COMPANY IS ABOUT AS MUCH USE AS A ONE LEGGED MAN IN AN BACKSIDE KICKING CONTEST. AS FOR ONE GAVIN BROWN HE'S NOT TO BE TRUSTED AT ALL, IN MY OPINION.
Western Toyota newbridge NEVER BUY FROM HERE!!
Western Toyota newbridge. Terrible after sales customer service. I bought a yaris for 8k from them and have had problems with the brakes since I got it. I have hounded them to look at the brakes and repair the paint work that they did not do as promised before I bought it. It took 8 weeks of calling and speaking with numerous sales and service staff and being told they would look into it and call back. I even went into the branch to see the salesman who took photographs of the body work and promised he would deal with it.. yet heard nothing back yet again. I ended up calling and refusing to go off the phone until I spoke to management. After getting very angry, frustrated, upset and by going to my own garage who told me the front brakes are worn down so dangerous that they are almost metal to metal and need changed right away. They took the car in and of course they found nothing wrong with the brakes. I then checked previous history on direct gov website and it stated the front brake pads were an advisory before western got it. I paid 8k for a car with faulty brakes and damaged paint work that they have refused to fix. TERRIBLE experience would never buy from them again or recommend anyone to.
Buyers Beware
Having paid £76k for a new BMW X5 50M in December, part of the negotiations was to Supagard the car. On uplift of the car I asked the salesperson Chris Henderson if the car had the Supagard treatment to which he said yes.The car came with all the Supagard materials including the external bodywork sealant and the interior applications. This I found strange as they should have been applied to the car. I later spoke again to Chris Henderson asking why these were in the car and again if it had been Supagard and he said yes and that they are just extra. I keep my cars in mint condition, cleaning them every week and polishing and waxing every month with top end products. About a month ago I noticed a mark on my Bonnet that I assumed was bird lime. Now any bird dropping is immediately removed from my car. I spoke to Eastern and they just short changed me and said it was not covered under manufacturers warranty. I asked them to look at it, however they wanted £182.00 just for the pleasure. I wrote to BMW customers services and got the usual stock answer, not covered speak to your retailer. I then wrote to BMW CEO and got a a senior leader contacting me.BMW told me to take the car into Eastern and they would cover the cost. Again I got the stock answer, sorry can't help. How they think customers will return is beyond me, their arrogance and service was dreadful. I looked at Supagard website where it clearly states that it covers bird droppings. I contacted Martin at Supagard who confirmed that there was a lifetime warranty against Bird Droppings. They told me the Supagard should be registered by the dealer, guess what there was no registration. I contacted Chris Henderson at Eastern again armed with this info and he said, awe because it was fee of charge we did not register the product. He also told me that the application had to be applied every 6 months, this is nonsense, Chris just does not know his products. I shared these emails with Supagard. Supagard were great, they arranged for the car to go back in to be done again. I met Terry from Supagard at Eastern, he saw the damage and told me that Supagard would protect against that and that they would fix it.Kudos to Supagard they were protective of their product and stepped up to the mark and have now registered me, giving me my warranty. I uplifted they car on Wednesday 25th it was gleaming and all marks were removed. You could tell that the car had been done as well as the fantastic shine the interior was smelling of very strong products, something that was NOT noticeable when I uplifted the car in December. I asked Chris Henderson if he could smell the interior, he said, yes that is the Supagard, I said well that was not their when I uplifted it. Again I said, look we both know you did not do it, he said, I did not apply it, it said on the computer it was done!!
So beware if you get Supagard from Eastern, ask for the registration certificate and make sure the products are used. if it has been done it is clear by the look and interior smell. I said to Chris all I wanted was an apology and hands up, he just shrugged his shoulders.
So Eastern be man enough, contact me and say you made a mistake.
I will never take my car to them for service or buy another car from them again. Big thanks of gratitude to Martin and Terry at Supagard, they acted with empathy and professionalism. I change my car every 2 years and will use Supagard again.
Firstly i wanted a Mercedes GLC and…
Firstly i wanted a Mercedes GLC and Easternwestern was the closest, so i went there - the salesman was awful - wearing jeans and old t shirt and turning up in my wife's mini obviously wasn't their type of client.
Secondly my new pup chewed through wires and the passenger seat wouldn't work - asked for a quote to be repaired. They quoted just under £500, got it done elsewhere for £120.
Thirdly managed to wrap my new GLC round a bollard which was totally my fault. My insurance company wanted to use Easternwestern's - it took 10 days to get even a quote and thats because i kept ringing. I actually feel sorry for the staff as they actually seem very nice just hugely under resourced. Anyway they said 10 days to the work and we are way past this time now!
Fourthly my advice would be to avoid them at any cost - or it will cost you you!

Took my Mercedes C300D to newbridge for its 1st service. The staff were extremely friendly and I received the best service from Katherine the service manager, nothing was too much hassle and kept me updated all throughout. Was treated well throughout the full transaction. Will be a customer for life
An excellent experience from start to finish
I bought a secondhand approved Leaf from Western Nissan Stirling about a month ago. An excellent experience from start to finish, including ongoing support. The sales guy Paul could not have been more attentive and patient with all the questions, the car itself is excellent and being an approved Nissan has a very reassuring warranty for a first electric car
Don't touch this company with a barge…
Don't touch this company with a barge pole. Endless problems with brakes on my polo. Stupidly bought a service plan, always persuaded plan, persuaded me to pay for repairs when I asked them to check brakes they said they were fine, seized 2 days later!
VW Fort Kinnaird
VW Fort Kinnaird. Yes good service if buying a car go out there way, take your money. My story is this, my performance golf in for service. Oil change, 6 mls on clock. Following year once again in for oil change and 4wd haldex change plus tyre damage so purchased two for same brand. All good apart from bank account but my problem was, vehicle handed in clean so requested no wash etc. Getting vehicle back asked any question, I asked if vehicle had left garage to which I was informed NO. Lies, dry dirt and grass in side drivers side and dirt on alloys and bonnet and up windscreen. Thought my car had been taken off road to which I calmly asked, why is there 8 mls on clock and vehicle looks like that. Was informed it had been raining so got dirty that way. Its my property and clearly said when leaving garage no test drive "Joy Ride". Yes I understand on occasions for legal reasons they must do a test drive but not on this occasion for oil change and tyre change, machines for that. Angry that if any damage may have been done by any one not noticed when I leave, I responsible for repair. No consultation regarding a test drive, just some one there, staff or mechanic taking my vehicle with out consent for a joy ride. Have been informed by a school leaver doing work experience there said yes they take out customers cars to go to the shops. Not filling me with confidence. If you have mobility vehicle there all good, If performance car avoid at all cost if can as they jump at the chance to jump into your vehicle.
Mercedes Newbridge
I recently bought an Approved Used car from Mercedes of Edinburgh (Newbridge). The start/stop didn’t work from day 1, and the Mercedes app said there was a problem with the battery, so it was a trip back to the dealership. They said they were replacing the battery and alarm siren and that I could pick it up from security that night. I didn't say anything at the time, but I would have thought that a fault displayed on a customers app would have been detected in their "extensive" pre-sale checks? Apparently not.
When I picked the car up afterhours I noticed a chip out the paint – not massive, but down to bare metal and quite noticeable on a grey car. I phoned the dealership the next morning to report it and they were immediately defensive. They wanted to know where the damage was and I told them it was above the drivers door. Away they went to check the damage sheet with the promise of a call back. 4.5hrs (and a chase up call) later they called me to say it was pre-existing damage and had been marked on the damage sheet before they moved the car.
I was keen to see the damage sheet, so they emailed it over showing damage above the driver’s door – exactly where I had said. Thing is, I wasn’t born yesterday. The damage was actually above the door at the back of the car – nowhere near the undamaged panel they had marked on the damage sheet. Had they marked up the damage sheet retrospectively? I was assured not. They said that perhaps some road dirt had been mistaken for a chip, or they had marked the chip in the wrong place. I'm not sure I've ever seen road dirt the colour of bare metal and I know it wasn't damaged when it went in, but they had offered to fix the damage regardless and I was quite happy with that.
The paint job was supposed to take 3 days and was being done at the Eastern Western body shop, about 2.5miles away. This quickly turned into 12 days. Something to do with the paint process being extended due to social distancing in the body shop and furloughing of staff, and the job being more complex than first thought. Of course, they didn’t tell me this until I phoned to chase them on the morning I was expecting the car back (I had called about 4pm the day before, but they didn't bother to return that call). Oddly, my tracker showed the car was sitting in the yard at the dealership, unlocked, for 4 days before it actually went into the body shop. I imagine this played some part in the delay, but they neglected to mention it in their list of excuses.
They did arrange to replace the plug-in hybrid courtesy car they’d loaned me (that I had nowhere to charge) with something more suitable for the mileage I need to drive – but this never turned up.
I was also expecting a cash back cheque for the first scheduled finance payment. Nothing to do with the damage, just an offer they were running in January. This hadn’t come through, so I dropped them a line to see when this might arrive. I was told it had been posted the day before. When the cheque eventually arrived it was dated the week before, but the envelope showed the postage wasn't printed until the day i'd chased them. Quite why they sat on the cheque for a week (or did they backdate it?) before telling me it was already in the post when clearly it wasn't, I don't know. Just a minor thing, but I’m afraid its cost them the benefit of the doubt I afforded them regarding the damage sheet.
When I did collect the car they’d broken the luggage cover – so that was another week of broken promises and unreturned phone calls.
I emailed this as a complaint to the dealership via Mercedes-Benz. Their response:
"... the paint damage has been repaired and that the parcel shelf has now been replaced...
... all Approved Used approved checks were carried out on the car prior to the sale with no issues noted."
No acknowledgement of the poor service and apparent lack if care at all.
I believe I have been told blatant lies by this dealership – and recommend you avoid at all costs.

World Worst Customer Service !!!!
especially Gordon Service Menager , a very arrogant person
Never again avoid avoid avoid
My daughter went here and bought her first car , big mistake , was not allowed a test drive so first shot she had was on the way home and did not like the brakes also the tyre pressure light came on right away and even after putting pressure in tyre it stayed on , the garage had just put new mot on car that day and we wondered how it went through brake test with all tyres having only 24lb in them , she was given a folder with paperwork but the mot was not there so looked it up on line to find there was an advisory on front tyre as it was at limit and scrubbing on the inside edge meaning car had another problem had we seen this car would not have been touched and also on trying to use the controls it kept coming up take to a dealership . Car was taken back in less than 24 hrs to have work done and we then find out it was only booked in to get a tyre replaced , in the end she rejected the car and had to wait on V5 before money would be refunded so even when we went back with V5 we were then told we would have to wait until Monday for head office to put in bank even though we paid cash and on the Monday the bank received nothing so had to start chasing them again , whole thing seemed to be one big joke , will never go back near this garage again
Go somewhere else
Had a warranty issue which I took to Nissan Dunfermline branch. Got nothing but rudeness and the brush off from the counter staff and when I complained to the Group Manager, I was assured my issues would be addressed. Foolishly I believed him and came back to Dunfermline a second time (Two hour round trip), only for the same thing to happen again!
If you need a Nissan dealer, I'd advise you go somewhere else. I'll never use them again.
BEWARE
BEWARE: If you have had a service done with MB Edinburgh (part of the easternwestern group) recently, go check your oil and air filter and make sure they are clean, This dealer should NOT be trusted. They recently carried out a (pre-paid contract) “service” on our car, reset the service indicator light and told us it was competed. Upon checking NOTHING had been done. They claim it was an accident, but it was the last in a 7 month fiasco of a warranty issue with this very incompetent dealership. First we had a headlight issue of them not coming on, which is a serious safety issue. We drove over 100 miles from Dumfriesshire having booked in, and they didn’t even have the part in stock and sent us away. After they eventually repaired it, and another issue of the fuel level showing incorrect, both issues recurred within a week of the “repair”. Several other visits occurred, and eventually we were then told the car was out of warranty and these “repairs” would not be honoured by the very rude, and condescending service manager. Eventually after many months and countless emails to MB customer service they finally agreed to fix it. Hopefully these repairs have now been done. However, they then did not do the above service (until we called them on it!). We’re still not sure if this is fraud and corner cutting or just sheer incompetence. It is shameful customer service from a premium brand dealership in a major city, and oversight from MB customer service was almost as lacking. After 20 years of loyalty to MB, we will now be going to Audi for our next car. Be careful when choosing this dealership and for your own sake, double check any work they say they did. Before any worthless reply from the dealer here on google offering excuses or saying we didn’t deal with them, here is the MB UK ref number for this incident: TB-1-29672302995
Absoloutley appalled at the service…
Absoloutley appalled at the service from @WesternToyota , drove 5 hours to find damage and rust on a Toyota RAV4 SN15TBU , manager DAVID REID was shocking no help , steering column ducktaped , paid upfront for the car with trust and so let down , hate this year 2020 😔##toyotauk @ToyotaUK THE funny thing is I sold my car trusting this dealership and now I have no car 😩🤦♂️
Car Deal Warehouse Superstore Newbridge Dealership
Excellent service from Car Deal Warehouse Superstore Newbridge Dealership. Was looking for a first car (second hand) as a young driver and emailed for a chat about a specific model, was phoned back a couple hours later by Gordon who was able to answer most of my questions about the vehicle on the spot, phoning me back an hour later with the answers to the rest. Booking a test drive and further discussing service history/faults was smooth.
Car was in excellent condition at a very good price compared to nearby dealerships and sales staff were honest and straightforward with the price and what they knew about the car. Couldn't fault them, kind and friendly staff giving us an offer we couldn't refuse. Car running smoothly ever since. Would definitely recommend.
Western Toyota - Terrible Customer Service
This was my first experience with Toyota. The showroom is kept squeaky clean, and the Toyota Prius+ is very good. However, customer service is terrible. Everything was fine until there was a problem, then they ignore you and don't respond to any of your emails. I can't recommend Western Toyota because of their customer service.
Volkswagen; Incompetent liars, crap customer service.
Tuesday, I called Volkswagen West Edinburgh (Fort Kinaird) to order a part for my Mk. 4 Golf. After describing it very specifically on the phone, giving my vehicle registration for an exact part match, the VW parts department told me they could definitely order it in for me by Thursday. The part in question was a handbrake cable return spring that clips onto the return lever at the rear caliper. Thursday morning, I called VW just to make sure the part had arrived (after all, it would be an over 60-mile round trip for me to VW), which they told me it had, and that I could come anytime to pick it up. When I got there, I was told to wait at their seating area, which I did. Eventually one of their staff comes to me holding something that resembled nothing like the part I needed, so I described with clarity to him the part I had ordered via phone, which was all agreed upon with their parts department. So he went away. Sometime later, he comes back with a Diagram drawing depicting the various parts of a rear caliper... This was somewhat worrying, given ANY half-knowledgeable generic garage mechanic would know exactly what part I was describing, but to him I must have somehow been talking in Cantonese. After going away and coming back with diagrams and making me wait a couple more times, he tells me,"Oh sorry, we don't sell that part individually, you'll have to buy a Whole Brake Caliper"! I ask to speak with a manager. Eventually (now they've wasted Half an Hour of my time, not including travelling), some other guy comes (presumably from the parts department), weilding the same diagram, only to confirm they did not in fact have the part for me that they said they had, and also telling me to buy a f**king caliper. Having established that VW customer service is utterly S**t, I decided to leave, as it was clear they are only good at selling New Cars, and ripping off their customers by trying to sell them things they don't need (everyone knows they overcharge for servicing and repairs anyway). So lesson here is; NEVER go to Volkswagen for anything, unless you want to get ripped off. I ended up getting the part I needed off the internet, Not from VW.
Lexus Edinburgh are stars!
Both my wife and I have Lexus 450h models and they are the best cars we have ever driven. I was thinking of changing mine and so I contacted Lexus Newcastle (where we bought our cars originally), Lexus Glasgow and Lexus Edinburgh. They gave me an indicative price for a trade in value and then Lexus Edinburgh invited us through from St Andrews to a VIP weekend on August 24th and 25th, 2019. We went through with our Standard Poodle, Molly, on the Saturday. We were greeted by John, the Sales Manager, with whom I had been speaking over the phone and he invited us into the showroom and said we should also bring Molly. Sarah very kindly brought a bowl of fresh water and a treat for her, which was a lovely touch!
We were introduced to Garry, who was to be looking after us and he was delightful. John asked me what colour of car I was looking for and I said, "Anything but black or white!" We walked among the cars in the gleaming showroom and there, in the middle, was this big, black beast - a Lexus 450h with Sport Pack. It looked sensational! We were being shown the interior when this elderly Chinese gentlemen went past, clearly interested. I said to him, "Sorry it's sold!" John and Garry thought this most amusing and half an hour later, I had bought the car. We met Scott, the Dealer Principal, Salesmen Stuart and Michael and Theresa and Sarah brought us food and drink. They were all charming and made it a wondrous customer experience. I cannot recommend the team at Lexus Edinburgh highly enough. Lisa, on Reception fielding all the calls is extremely pleasant and efficient and I get my new car on Friday, 6th September. Can't wait!!!
Waited more than 6 months and still no delivery
Ordered a VW Touran with Barnetts of St Andrews on 3 August 2018 and still not delivered and its February 2019 now.
On VW Website it still shows at stage 2 of 7 stages which means they received order but have now got the parts or built it yet. I have complained to dealership and VW but got nowhere. Barnetts only suggested i should cancel the order but gave offered no alternatives.
Spoke on phone to senior advisor Russell at Motability who was useless. He only gave reasons for delay because of engine regulations, which i already knew. He offered no suggestions for help and passed buck to VW. I have no vehicle and to wait 6 months is unacceptable. I cant start part time work or travel. I asked if they could help to get any suitable vehicle temporary or permanent but he said not possible. This so called charity should be seriously investigated as there is no alternative for disabled people and Motability are not doing their jobs properly. No help whatsover. I have contacted my MP for help. The CEO should resign as he is not worth the salary. This charity should be helping people not causing frustration and depression and sitting on their hands refusing to help or get involved. Why were Barnetts not honest with me about delivery times? They advised it might be longer than the usual 12-16 weeks but i never imagined it would be more than 26 weeks. I also said i would take any suitable vehicle but again they havent suggested anything.
Cameron Toll Edinburgh Branch
I had a car service and MOT yesterday at this branch. The service was exemplary and I was kept informed at every stage of the process. I would have no hesitation recommending Easternwestern.
