Scammy door to door sales tactics, convinced my gf who's scared of spiders to sign up, she didn't realize how much it was going to cost her as a recurring charge and also wasn't told it would cost $250 just to cancel. Beyond mad.

The tech didn't have the right address. He sprayed our neighbors house. Granted it was about 100 degrees and 5:30 pm and he was shot. He didn't tell us that he couldn't get into the back yard due to a fence. He didn't spray the screenhouse which is now full of spiders and webs. I thought I heard the salesman who calls himself "bug Dundee" cleaver, right? that they would spray for fleas and ticks. WELL, that's extra. When I called to change my appointment day which I'm not sure that is happening I get connected with someone in another country,, so for sure we didn't understand each other. How does one cancel this company I have done better doing exterminating myself.

Ecoshield is AWFUL!! We wanted the outside carpenter ants and the inside panty pests dealt with. After we signed turns out they can't - after two technicians came - do panty pests. And they sprayed outside - and not inside - for the ants and we have an unholy infestation of ants inside. Hundreds. So they didn't do the job and said they either refund the service visit or cancel the fee for coming back. Absolute shit company!!

If there was a zero rating or a negative rating, that is what I would give EcoShield. I was one of those ones who got taken by this scam and I say this is a scam they come to your door they get you to sign the contract they promise to do things that they don’t fulfill like they came to my door. I said I have a rat in the attic and they said oh we can take care of that. They put two little glue trap paper pieces up in the attic Something I don’t even think the rats would fit in and then sent some guy to the house to give me an estimate on getting rid of the rat which was $6500. Well they didn’t tell me at the beginning there would be an additional charge of $6500 to do what they promised to do when they were standing on my porch, trying to sell me their product. I canceled my other subscription with my faithful pest control company because they were not getting rid of my problem to go with this person who said they would get rid of the problem they lied and now they want more money. I’m going to have to get my lawyer to talk with him about the whole promise thing and the fact that they did not give me what they promised. They said they would. I’m getting ready to sue them for stress And time loss from work trying to meet their demands.

Very unhappy. They use lies to get you to sign up.
They also gave me appointments, then changed the appointment schedule to whatever they wanted no matter what they had told me. This happened repeatedly, in fact every time except the last visit. I am so tired of dealing with them.
Their products do NOT kill insects. We have had NO improvement.
The owner of the company ( I found out he is not), told me that he would waive the cancellation fee if for any reason we were not happy with their treatments by the middle to end of Summer. I found out today, that they are going to charge hefty cancelation fee. Do NOT be swindled by these company. Our service started April 19, 2025, and I have just terminated it as of end of July 2025.

This company is terrible, do not use. Buyer beware!!!
This was one year of awful service, it made me put a date, but it was the whole experience. When they treated our house, it would depend on the person sent on what was done and what was not. Most times the person would be on our property 15 or 20 minutes. One person was on our property less than 10 minutes.
Trying to cancel services cost extra and no one that was talked to cared if we were keep as customers or not. They always wanted to argue. There were always excuses for the bad service.
Our new company comes out and spends 30 minutes or more. They do everything promised us that we would get by signing the contract. There are no corners cut.

How can I cancel this "service"?

Unethical company with unethical sales tactics. Do not give this company your money.

A nice guy shows up at your door who uses a super slick talk to sell you service contact. Something like "Hey, we're starting up this business in this town. Here's my personal number, etc.". Then they increase the pressure as at some point he bluntly asks "credit or debit card". If you reluctantly agree to a big and confusing term sheet (yes, red flag, I know), you are hooked. Because the guy is so nice, I agreed to it. Once you agree you never see the guy again of course.

Part of the terms is that you get pretty substantial "discount" on your first service, but if you cancel early, you have to pay back that discount. The discount allegedly is because the first service is bigger as they have to "break the egg cycle". I'm pretty sure this is just made up as the first service wasn't noticeable more time consuming than any of the subsequent services.

Then finally, when you try to cancel, they make it super hard and frustrating, with the agents having to ask you many questions before they will proceed. Then, when I actually managed to cancel after a lot of time on the phone, I did not get a confirmation, and they automatically renewed without my knowledge. The I suddenly get a message that my next service will be in a few days, at which point I had to do the whole song and dance with customer support again.

I just had a rep show up and say he was servicing other homes in the area, and when he was done with them, he’d probably have “product left over” and could do our house for 30% off? He came back again later, wanting to speak with my Dad (it’s his home) and was WAY too pushy. All my red flags went up. I just knew this wasn’t someone I wanted anything to do with….and that was before I read these reviews! Wow, close call. Thanks everyone for taking the time to share. You’ve helped others for sure!

They went to my 94 year old Dad's house when no one else was home. Told him they'd charge $60 to spray the inside and outside for bugs. They charged his credit card $250! All reviews I've read say it costs hundreds of dollars to cancel their service.

Solicitation is misrepresented, contract for 2 Years, not quarterly as solicited. $250 early cancellation fee.

Products are mostly ineffective for insect control.

Customer Service in India or overseas, very difficult communication.

Blatantly Upselling
I have used their service for the past few years and i was fairly satisfied with the service, however something has changed now. their technician let me know that he observed termite activity in my deck and he was going to schedule an expert to come over and do a thorough inspection as i wasnt home at that time. i thought nothing of it and said yes to it. the next "expert" who came in firstly wasnt able to show me any evidence of termite activity on my deck, but started saying it is good to have it done as they have seen other homes in the area with the problem. then he goes on to point small blemishes in the concrete wall of my basement that is exposed to the outside and starts telling me those are because of termites. termites eat concrete? i have never heard of that. all in an effort to sign me off with a termite protection service for $800 or so. he then goes on to scare me by saying they will not enter that i refused to take care of termite problem in their database which will be looked at when i am trying to sell my home in the future. what audacity.. i understand businesses need to make sales, but like this? totally unacceptable. they did the same with my neighbor as well.

They had a friendly pitch. I signed up then a month later pitched my wife and forgot we were customers. They did nothing but clear some cobwebs. Now they are trying to get $250 from me after I already paid $189.

Lots of problems with my experience with Ecoshield. I was solicited by a door to door salesperson and I told them I would not do a contract but I was told they would come out each quarter for $199 and that I could cancel any time. I cancelled a month later but I have been charged two $199 charges and they insist that I agreed to a $250 termination fee and now their computer is calling me at 6 am to request payment of the termination fee which I never agreed to pay. I've enlisted my credit card company to recover the unauthorized $199 duplicate fee but this is clearly the worst experience I've ever had with a service company. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

I would rate the scammers worse if I could

They don’t seem to do much and when I tried to cancel after they came to my house knocking on door and having me sign on my porch that I now owe them more then $250 for cancellation fees. I said I wasn’t aware and they threaten me to go to collections even if don’t want to continue service. Their business tactics are very bad and not a company you want to do business with.

So a tech stopped by to offer their services because he said my neighbor just signed up with them. I said I don't want a 12 months contract just wanted a one time treatment. He offered a one time treatment and said that 2 would really be better and he can offer a discount on two, so i said OK, please send me the info by text message. Within an hour i received an email (i did not provide an email address !) with a signed contract, which had someone else's signature in the "customer sign here" line with a 12 month contract. Two days later a text came in "we will be at your property this afternoon".
this is pure FRAUD! Do not open your door and do not discuss anything with this fraudulent business!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! BEWARE, THEY ARE SCOUNDRELS!!! I lost $650 to Eco Shield over the last two months due to their ineffective product and fraudulent sales practices! First, a young salesperson appears uninvited on my front porch in early May 2025, selling their service. He told me how they could eliminate 100% of the spiders, earwicks, and nasty bugs on my property and how their product is 100% environmentally safe. He was quite polished and convincing, so I unfortunately agreed to a 1 year "contract" of 5 treatments (at $200 a treatment). HUGE MISTAKE!!! I asked him if I could cancel at any time at no charge? He said, "Absolutely", which was a big lie because I found out later that if you choose to cancel after 3 days, they charge you a $250 "early cancellation fee"! You need a magnifying glass to see where this is stated in the contract. I "finger signed" the contract on his "electronic notebook" in the full sun and could not read fully what was listed in fine print. After two treatments, my spider and earwick problem got worst and I decided to cut my losses and get out of the contract. So... I called the number listed on the website to complain and cancel. After waiting 40 minutes on hold I get an imbecile who I can barely understand. This idiot is so inept that every reply he gives is read off a card for him to regurgitate up to the customer essentially saying: "We've got you locked in for 1 year at $1000 and we'll screw you over for $250 early cancellation" if you try to get out!!! I hung up on him after saying "I WANT TO CANCEL!!!" These guys are scoundrels! They are deceptive in their sales pitch!!! Their product didn't work for me! They screw you if you try to get out of the contract!!!! PLEASE....DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE! Warn your friends! Warn your kids! If they show up on your door...run them off!!!

Wish I could give this company a ZERO! Absolutely a lack of keeping their promises (e.g., making the scheduled appointments), horrible job of advising customers of cancelled or rescheduled appointments, and Customer "Care" (I use that term loosely) that doesn't perform follow-up/listen to customer requests/etc. The company appears to have gotten worse over the past year or so - to the point that I have been highly displeased with their performance (I have cameras around my house and the Technicians move very swiftly when doing service), I have had recurring bug issues, and - as ranted above - taking care of the customer seems to have disappeared. There is little to no value in having their "service" - I would rather go with a higher priced option than suffer with incompetence!
