They signed up for a $40/month plan to separate my credit file with my spouse. After charging $40/month for 4 months, finally they separated our credit files. There was no option to unsubscribe online, so I had to contact support. The live chat told me cancellation is only possible by phone.

When I called, the agent asked for all the info to verify my identity, they refused to do so as my wife wasn't with me that time. I said I just wanted to cancel my subscription.

This company is very frustrating and looting all the money from the customers based on the subscription plans and they don't cancel the subscriptions!

They won't let you unsubscribe your plan

I signed up for a $30/month plan with Equifax Canada and tried to cancel after one month. There was no option to unsubscribe online, so I had to contact support. The live chat told me cancellation is only possible by phone.

When I called, the agent asked for my SIN to verify my identity, which I refused to give. I provided my account number and name, but then he also asked for my email and phone number. I felt uncomfortable and said I just wanted to cancel my subscription.

When I asked to speak with a manager, he refused and said I had to provide all that information first. For a company that handles sensitive data, this process felt invasive and unacceptable. I’ve canceled my subscription through my bank and reported the issue to the Privacy Commissioner. I would not recommend this service to anyone.

Unhelpful and rude customer service

While attempting to print my credit report, I received an error message. I called customer service for a solution as I was completing housing application (highly competitive and time sensitive). The individual I spoke to on the phone was unhelpful, rude, and would not listen to what I was asking. It should not be this difficult to access a credit report.

Put in a dispute

Put in a dispute. You only have 250 letters to get the point across. Transunion took it off immediately. Tmobile has over 25 lawsuits for overcharging people. I paid my 3 year contract in full. During the 3 year period, I bought 2 phones and recieved 2 watches as a "promotion" the same month my bill came and I had 4 extra lines 2 for the watches. 2 they added when I got the new phones that I didn't ask for. And they were charging me for the watches that were on "promotion" I contacted them over 40 times and they would say they were removing the unused lines. Instead they kept charging me. I tried to avoid this. But tmobile refuses to release my transcript. They say I have to have a lawyer to obtain my records from when I was a paying customer. This place dont investigate nothing. They side with the business. Im going to have my lawyer file a lawsuit on both tmobile and equifax. They need to take their job more serious. So im gonna put them on notice with a lawsuit.

i tried the website to log in and this is the message i got "We're sorry, we are unable to process your request at this time. Please contact our Customer Care Team at 1-866-828-5961 for additional help completing your request." i called and someone with a strong accent who had a hard time speaking and understand english answered me, took all my personal information, then tried to sell me a membership, and when i said i wasn't interested, she told me that she couldn't help me to log in, it sounded like a call center scam.

These reps are the worst

These reps are the worst. I received an email from Equifax IdWorks that has some problems. I sent the email that Equifax sent me along with two questions. Easy questions. One question was which account are you talking about (I have 3 separate accounts.) Second question was where do I look for the information you told me to logon and look at. Nowhere on the email does it say where to look after logon.

I have now received 4 different responses from customer service and not one answered my questions. If Equifax handles my credit the same way they do customer service, they should not be in business. It is pathetic.

TERRIBLE Customer service, website, access, etc!!

TERRIBLE company! For months I have been unable to access my account. For weeks I have been attempting to reach someone who has a solution that actually works, but instead when I'm actually able to reach anyone either by online chat or by phone (a f***ing miracle in this day and age) I am given the same rubber stamped cookie-cutter steps, instructions, etc by anyone I'm miraculously able to reach that NEVER work. Something is wrong with their website, internal systems, etc that they refuse to fix that prevents people from logging in. I noticed at least one glitch and explained it to them, yet no one seems to have any sense of urgency to investigate any further.

I have been researching this issue on chat boards like Reddit, etc, and apparently the issue is endemic. There are people who have not been able to login to their accounts for literally YEARS. The last time I attempted to reach customer service (today) it was to close my account and have my personal information scrubbed from their site. They AGAIN gave me the same instructions to login that never worked in the past months. I'm sure just like every other damn company anymore everyone that works in their call centers are in some third world country reading from a script for $3 a day, and doesn't give a damn about Equifax's customers.

It's extremely unsettling that this company manages VERY sensitive and financially intimate information that people's lives and financial mobility depend on, and this widespread ongoing issue does not imbue confidence, a sense of security or competence, especially after their data breach in 2017.

I will be hopping on the first class action suit against them that I come across. I wish I could give them negative stars! 😠😠

Horrible customer service; DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS

Horrible customer service. My account has been locked for over a week and there is no sense of urgency, including the ability to escalate the call.

Also, the authentication process took 12 minutes. I had to answer half of the questions I did through the VRU with the agent after I was connected. Call center in evidently not in the US, though people were polite. I had been a subscriber of 3 in 1 Credit Monitoring for over 10 years, but I had no choice but to cancel it. Now I have to find another service.

I submitted a dispute to Equifax with strong supporting documents proving Verizon’s reporting was inaccurate. The evidence was straightforward, yet Equifax sided with Verizon without any explanation. If they had taken even a few minutes to review what I submitted, the error would’ve been obvious. Very disappointed in the lack of care or accountability.

Equifax calculates credit scores based on the number of enquiries made to lenders, which can be misleading. Often, multiple enquiries are necessary to secure the best rate. Additionally, Equifax treats even late payments as defaults, which is inaccurate. A true default typically means the lender has repossessed the asset.

For example, someone with an excellent credit score (above 800) who makes three late payments and five new credit enquiries—despite having increased disposable income—may be assessed as experiencing financial hardship. As a result, Equifax could reduce their score to below average (under 500), which doesn't accurately reflect their financial stability
This is affecting the Australian economy. Surprisingly most lenders looks Equifax report.
Looks there is no government body regulates Equifax is one of the US largest credit provider.

Just tried to create account and it…

Just tried to create account and it rejected login and then after trying multiple times had to call their AUTOMATED answering machine, and tried that then had to call again twice to talk to an actual person, the first one kept breaking up, and the second one I did everything to PROVE I am who I say I am (They DO NOT allow this to be done on a PC and only phone to supply the picture proof requested) and then they wanted me to mail the same information to prove it was really me. This is just BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

One of the worst customer experiences I have ever received hands down. Awful language barrier, did not understand issues, extremely unhelpful to simply update an address. Causing me a lot of unnecessary stress - this company should not be operating with this sort of support. Truly a shocking experience.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE LEGAL!!!!!

Just found out Equifax is selling my data and I'm getting calls even though I'm on the do not call registry since Aug 17, 2012!!!!!!! How can it be LEGAL FOR YOUR BANK TO GIVE YOUR MORTGAGE INFO TO EQUIFAX AND EQUIFAX SELLS YOUR INFO??? HOW IS IT LEGAL FOR EVERYONE TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF ME, BUT ME?!?!?!?!??
