I ordered a polo shirt with an…

I ordered a polo shirt with an embroidered guardsman . The material has. We compressed causing a ring mark around the embroidered pattern. I have wash it and the mark is still there! The quality of the polo shirt itself is not good for the price. The overlocking inside has been rushed and not to a good standard. I would shop round for a better quality shirt. The material has a cheap feel to the fabric so please keep in mind.

Disappointing experience

The items I ordered had printing errors with inconsistencies. To the FatChimps credit, they sent a replacement out, but they don’t provide any adhesive. It wasn’t until the replacement arrived I realised it was from another company, with a surplus added by Fat Chimp, even the original packaging had been used, with a new address sticker on top. Overall, a very disappointing service; I won’t be a returning customer.

Poor communication, lies and delays.

Disappointing Customer Experience – Poor Communication and Missed Deadline.

Unfortunately, I would give zero stars for communication, customer service, and transparency around delays. From start to finish, the experience was a complete letdown in those respects.

I ordered an engraved gift to honour someone retiring after 25 years in the Air Force — an occasion that truly deserved to be marked properly. After researching several options, I chose FatChimp and spent just over £100 on the item, plus £14.95 for shipping. The company stated a dispatch timeframe of 10–15 working days, which would have ensured the item arrived in time for the recipient’s final day at work before entering their end of tour leave period.

However, the process was riddled with communication failures and delays that were not proactively shared, despite the company’s policy to do so.

On 9th July (11 working days after the order was placed on 25th June), I requested an update and was told the item was due for completion early the following week and tracking to follow (the 14th or 15th would be early the next week).
I heard nothing further, so I followed up again on 16th July — no response.
On 18th July, after another chaser, I was informed the item was complete and ready for dispatch. There was no apology for the lack of communication or the delay, despite the company’s promise to notify customers of any issues; we are now at the end of the week.
There was then a further delay due to the courier failing to collect the item on the 18th, which again was not communicated - The company could have done so; but did not.
I followed up on 23rd July and was finally told it had been collected on the 22nd — again, no explanation or apology was offered at this point; they only later disclosed the courier had failed after delivery.
Throughout, I received no proactive updates and had to chase multiple times. This contradicts FatChimp’s stated commitment to inform customers of delays, which they note typically occur during peak periods such as Christmas — yet this was a July order. Even if busy in July, there was no communication on delays.

Adding to the confusion, the website gives mixed timelines for their bronze statues — referencing anywhere from 5–10, 5–15, and 7–20 working days. This inconsistency makes it difficult for customers working to a deadline to make informed decisions.

My order details received specifically state 10-15 working days; and if there is a delay, they will communicate - Did they? No they did not.

Ultimately, the item arrived on 23rd July — 21 working days after ordering — missing the recipient’s last official day of work. Despite expressing my concerns in advance, no extra effort or urgency was shown in communication or fulfilment.

This experience demonstrated extremely poor customer focus and a lack of basic service standards. If communication, reliability, and transparency are important to you, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Unfortunately, FatChimp failed to meet the expectations of their own stated service levels.

Product however is lovely - I will now need to post this to the individual at a cost to me ☺️

Update 25th July - It should also be noted that FatChimp threatened with legal action twice to change my review. A disgusting scare monger tactic in order to try and protect themselves from an honest review and the truth.

Their reply to this review also now states that they had to order a new wooden base; causing delay… first I have heard of it. Did they communicate that to the customer; the answer is no. This further highlights entirely the point of this review… in that their communications are appalling just like their threats. Delays, delays, delays, did they inform anyone… no. If anyone orders a new fridge for instance and you are told, expect delivery on a Monday PM period; and nothing arrives and you hear nothing… what do you do as a customer? You chase it up… Twice they delayed for two periods of 5 days; I chased it up. A non-customer focused approach and no apology.

I am not sure why the company also keep banging on about the leaving date on the engraving of November 2025; that’s 4 months away and irrelevant. I informed them in email on the 9th July that the person was leaving the following week… hint hint… and I was cautious the item wouldn’t arrive on time. Yet they state I never informed them… more lies - Common trend here!

They are also lying about the item not being dispatched on the 18th and that it was for the courier to collect on the 21st.
I received dispatch courier information on the 18th stating the order was on the way with a tracking number. They then informed on the 23rd 5 days later and after delivery that the courier didn’t collect on the 18th and had let them down… so even more lies.

Shocking… do not use this company.

Thank you for submitting your account following purchase of a made to order Boots and Beret figurine.

Firstly, we absolutely reject any suggestion that our customer services and communication to the customer was poor for order placed on 25th June.

The review came as a surprise, as we had maintained positive and reactive contact with the customer from point of sale, with patience in mind for a made to order figurine.

We were not informed at point of sale that there was a specific date or deadline for this order to present to the customer’s colleague. In fact the engraved plate included the end date of Nov 2025. There was no mention of urgency for the order until 9th July.

If we had been aware from the offset, of a customer deadline, then we would have pushed the order to the front of the queue, as we do often for customers who have a specific presentation date.

We had 5 email correspondence with the customer from purchase, and throughout the process to delivery.

FYI, we provide a made to order service, and we advise that orders can take up to 15 working days but can take up to a maximum of 28 days.

The customer ordered the boots and beret with engraved plate on 25th June, and we would have expected to have the job completed within 10-15 working days.

Because the order included three lines of text on an engraved plate, which was on a deeper than usual plate, this meant the plate we usually use for this model didn’t fit on to the standard wooden base, so our figurine maker had to make a new bespoke wooden base from scratch, specifically for this item, to accommodate the larger engraved plate, which added to the delay.

Once the item was completed, we booked the courier on Friday 18th for the following Monday pick up at the workshop, however the courier was delayed and the item wasn’t picked up, therefore we dropped it off at the Post office on Tuesday, and the item was delivered Wednesday 23rd July, and the comms with the customer via email, gave us no indication of any disappointment during this period.

V pleased to hear on the customers 4th edit of positive feedback about the finished product, i.e. ‘It’s Lovely’, and we can only apologise that the item didn’t reach the recipient before he left the RAF, however if we had known from the outset of this, then we would have delivered on time.

We understand that the customer will be posting the figurine on to the recipient, and as a good will gesture we are more than happy to cover the cost of this transaction.
