Use the Template
I love using GMRtranscription.com primarily because of the fast turnaround time as well as the ease of uploading my audio files and downloading my transcripts. Recently, I lost one of the emails with a transcription. I was able to log back into the system and still retrieve the archived transcription. My opportunity for improvement aligns with providing a template. I now routinely provide a template for the transcriptionist to use when completing his or her work. Most of the time, my transcription is returned using the template. But not always. A consistent use of the template (including the template header) would help me on the back end processes after receiving the transcription. Thanks! -- And I will still continue using GMR as well as recommending the service to my students and faculty colleagues.

Accurate and fast
GMR provided us with an accurate and easy-to-read transcript, even though the interview transcribed contained medical jargon and other difficult topics. We are very happy with the outcome and plan to continue to use them for our research project.

Overall the transcription service worked well, and with positive results
The work was done promptly, and good quality. There was some confusion over the billing process, which made things a little complicated, but we received helpful input from GMR Management, and the matter was quickly resolved.

Excellent Service at a good price

Reliable work. Demanding when done.
The work is always reliably done, but PROOFREAD for technical terms the transcriptionist may not be familiar with or may not be presenting the text the way you finally intend. Once transcription is done, demand for payment can be quite strong and immediate.

Our transcriptionists will not be familiar with all technical terms; however, we do have a special instructions box where you can list your terminology before the project is submitted. Also, every project done by us goes through a proofing phase. We do politely send out friendly reminders to inform clients that their transcript is complete a couple days after it has been done. Formatting differences hurt
For this job, I submitted 15 interviews of considerable length. They came back in batches, each with different formatting.
Some docs had no formatting whatsoever
Some had question/answer structure with "interviewer" "interviewee" labels. Some had question/answer structure with speaker names.
Some had question/answer with made-up speaker names.
Some had indenting, some didn't.
Before sending the transcripts to the client, we needed to spend a lot of time re-formatting for consistency.

I am sorry for the confusion. One of our associates has reached out to you to clarify the issue. There is an instruction box we have on our site where customers can specify special instructions they need for the project.
There's also a special tab on that panel where you can upload any special templates for our transcribers to follow. Perhaps that was overlooked. When there are no special instructions stated, our transcribers will transcribe in our standard format. Again, I apologize for the confusion here. Might cost a little more, but SO worth every penny!
I am a doctoral student and needed interviews transcribed for my research study. Being a poor grad student, I went with the lowest price. HUGE MISTAKE. The company I chose took way longer than they committed they would and I kept getting emails in broken English telling me they needed more time because the audio was of "poor quality" (even though the interviews I sent them were conducted in a very quiet space, using a top of the line digital audio recorder). So, I decided you do indeed get what you pay for and I needed to use GMR.
WOW! What a difference! My transcripts came as promised, were accurate with a LOT less "gaps" from something being "unintelligible". Email communication was a breeze and it was clear I was dealing with native English speakers. When I called with a question, a friendly voice on the other line took the time to listen and then got me the answers I needed. I will NEVER use another transcription company!! GMR is it for me. :)

I was very pleased with the customer service and prices.
Nothing to complain about. They were prompt with the service and answering all of my questions.
I was impressed with the reasonable price points and loved that they had so many options when it came yo turn around time.

Not Satisfied
I dictated several simple letters with invoices. I received one long narrative back. I paid before I could review as always therefore, I couldn't tell there was a problem until it was to late.
Needles to say there is no way I can send this to a client and will have to have it redone.
I sent a message to the company and am waiting for a response. I am very interested to see how the company will fix this issue.

There was a confusion when submitting files because no special requests on formatting were made. When orders are submitted, there is an option to write special requests on formatting, and if no requests are made, we just transcribe in our standard format. In this case, no special requests were made. At GMR Transcription, we are happy to follow any speecial requests or templates that the client needs, however, we need to be aware of them on each order before they are submitted. Disappointed This Time
I have generally been very pleased with your service. However, with the latest file I sent to be transcribed, I received a message that it was difficult to hear the speaker. I understood that, because it was in a large meeting room. I had placed the recorder near the podium, but I was willing to pay more due to the less than ideal circumstances. Yet with the transcription I received, about every 10th word was marked inaudible. I went back and listened to the recording and was able to transcribe it myself. And in only about three places did I have to back up and try again. Also, I found that the words that were transcribed were not always very accurate. Hope you can do better next time.

Great Service
