We had a guardian roof installed on our conservatory in April and all went well until we chased the builder for the building control certification. They made excuse after excuse, saying it was in hand, when absolutely nothing had been done about it so we now have an un-certified conservatory roof.

As it was guardian who recommended that “certified” builder we got in touch with them who initially responded but have now heard nothing from them for over 2 months.

There are alternative companies who provide conservatory roofs and building control sign off as standard (ones that actually complete it and not just brag about it on their website to lure you in).

Avoid guardian at all costs!

Our new roof was expertly installed and has proven to be a real improvement to a conservatory that was unusable for many months of the year. The only downside is that the roof tiles have faded and have white specks emerging. I contacted Guardian early in 2025 who advised me that the tile was indeed defective and would be replaced under warranty when a new tile was available possibly in May 2025. I have chased them up but have had no reassurance about the replacement, hopefully they will come good soon.

Booked to have a roof fitted with one of their trusted companies Guardian Roofs Nationwide. They liquidated after we paid them.
Basically Guardian Building Services, who leads "Team Guardian" have washed their hands of it and told us their a separate company, yet they was quick to put us in touch with Guardian Roofs Nationwide.

There's also several others in the same boat as me.

An outstanding job from start to finish by the BJC team - all seasoned craftsmen. Highly professional planning and execution and attention to every detail throughout the construction.
The Guardian Roof system itself worked exactly as described and had been planned and manufactured down to the last detail prior to delivery.
The finished roof is solid and very good looking and looks as though it will stand the test of time - and weather - on the west coast of Scotland.

Absolutely over the moon with my new roof. Best thing I ever did for my conservatory.

We love our Guardian roof. We have had it for 2 years now and not only does it look nice but it makes our conservatory warm in the winter and cooler in the summer. It has just transformed the room and the house. Roofline who fitted it were excellent and were totally focussed on customer satisfaction and doing a good job. Very pleased.

My Company has installed this roof for the past 10 years. Its a great product that works well and does the job. We have installed 500+ roofs and we do not have any issues with our guarantees or back up from the fabricators or systems house. Our customer always leave glowing reviews on google. Excellent product followed up by a very good installation team and customer service. The installation of our rooflight was not straightforward, however the team made it happen.

We are really happy with the customer service, the product and the work being done on our 'P-shape' conservatory roof. The team worked very efficient and professional and it only took two days to complete the job. The plastering was done in a day. This is now a massive improvement to our home with additional living space all year round.

We are glad with our decision to go with Guardian and can happily recommend.

Did quite a lot of research into roof lanterns for our new extension. We chose the Guardian Roof Lantern for our new extension as we really liked the slim profile and the cost was really competitive, it is now fitted and looks great and lets in a lot of light.
My builders said it was so much easier to construct and fit than all the others they had previously used and would be using the Guardian one from now on for future projects.

I suggest you look again at your customer records and you will find a quote from Martin Bishop, Director in 2016. There is also correspondence last November with Laura Watson, Customer Services Executive, dated 13,16, 22 and 27 November 2023

Had a Guardian roof installed in 2017, by an Approved Installer. After a couple of years we noticed water staining on the ceiling. We asked Guardian for advice. They said it could be due to condensation, but failed to offer any solutions. The Installer ceased trading in 2021, without putting in place any Guarantees about their workmanship. We have contacted Guardian numerous times. But they have failed to offer any advice, support or redress for their defective product, which did not have any cross flow ventilation, which was causing the condensation. Be warned. Guardian guarantees are worthless. They hide behind the work of the installer

So, I rang you customer service team today. Immediate outcome - customer services declined to take part in any further discussion!

On an archived version of your old website in 2015, guardianroof.co.uk, you stated in the consumer information, 'They [as in installers] should always carry official team Guardian identification to verify their status. Team Guardian members should also provide guarantees and insurance backed warranties....Your Guardian Roof can only be installed by a Team Guardian member.' Our Guardian warm roof WAS installed by a member of 'Team Guardian'. You verified this over the phone at the time. Their Team Guardian reference number appears on the paper work - you verified this number at the time. The installers also appear on your Facebook page where you were showcasing their work as members of 'Team Guardian' (we have screen shots). All you appear to have done in 2021 is rebranded your website, swapping the wording from 'Team Guardian' to 'Certified installers'. Other than that, there appears to be no difference. In our final correspondence with you, your director wrote, 'we are not able to continue the ongoing communication and dialogue'.

Our Guardian Roof installers (August Home Improvements, owned by Neil Harper) were Guardian certified installers (recommended by Guardian). They were complete cowboys despite the reassurance offered by Guardian, who later confirmed they take absolutely no responsibility for their certified installers. Transparency is seriously lacking with this company and it's set up.

The installers then went bust and we began having problems with the roof. We have since discovered the roof does not meet building regulations and is completely unfit for purpose. In some places it is structurally unsound. The certified installers have liquidated so the 10 year guarantee is worthless and the insurance back money guarantee only lasted 2 years so is also useless. Beyond putting us in contact with further certified installers to rectify the problem (which cannot be done without a whole new roof at our expense) Guardian have offered no financial compensation and say it is nothing to do with them.

So be VERY carefully getting a Guardian Warm roof. When viewing installers work be aware that problems often don't show up until several years down the line (ours was 3 years old before the problems started).

The certified installer scheme means NOTHING. These are limited companies that liquidate at the first sign of trouble, leaving you without a leg to stand on. It is the 'double glazing sales scandal' of the conservatory roof world and Guardian Warm Roofs is taking full advantage in my opinion.
