Hutch Houseplants are a reliable shop to buy plants online! I purchased a Monstera Albo Borsigiana Variagata and it arrived in great condition! The only thing I will say, Is the packaging wasn't ideal. The plant arrived very safely...but a 4 foot box full to the brim with polystyrene was difficult to dig through! I found it hard not to damage the plant myself when trying to remove it. I have never seen plants packaged this way before. Effective...but a nuisance. Other than that, I found the company to be extremely helpful and they went above and beyond to be sure that i was a happy customer. Which I am :) 5 stars regardless of the weird packaging! I will definitely be back for more amazing plants from Hutch! ♡♡♡♡♡

Lovely small business and ethos + wonderful plants
Lovely small business and ethos, beautiful selection of plants with great prices; wish there are more variety of pots though
I ordered a mini Philodendron and it arrived beautifully healthy and intact and it was in a box with compostable foam inside! so to be kind to the environment <3
I have no complains and I definitely look forward to buying again!

Disappointing customer care
My daughter recently bought a Monstera plant as a present for me. We are a plant loving family, having bought several plants from Hutch over the past couple of years, including during lockdown, keen to support local, independent shops. Unfortunately on this occasion the plant looked very sad with in days of purchase. On bringing it back to the shop I was upset that I was met with the response that the plant's poor state was likely due to our care and nothing could be done. I am extremely disappointed with the customer care. Sadly I will be taking my custom elsewhere from now on.

Firstly we wanted to thank you for your purchases and support for our business over the last few years. We’re really sorry to see that you are disappointed with our service on this occasion.
We carefully inspect all of our plants prior to selling them and sending out orders, to ensure that only the happiest and healthiest plants make their way home with you. In the unlikely event that there are any problems with our plants at the point of purchase or immediately after receiving an order, we always encourage our customers to get in touch to see if there is anything we can do to help out.
However, as we understand it, the Monstera you mention was purchased a week before Christmas and you made contact with us on the 13th January 2022. One of our team made every effort to offer detailed care advice to identify what may have gone wrong with the plant when you brought it in and identified a number of issues that may have led to its ill health.
Whilst you mention that the Monstera began to look sad within days of being purchased, it was not until nearly a month later that the plant was brought back to us. Given the length of time that had passed since the plant was purchased, and given that no issues had been flagged to us in that time and we are unable to account for the care of the plant during that period, we are sorry that we were unable to help any further than providing the advice that was given.
We completely understand the disappointment when a plant dies; however, as they are all living things, we are always on hand to offer advice and support when plants begin to look unhappy. We’d encourage all of our customers to get in touch as soon as they notice any problems with their plants, whether they’ve come from us or elsewhere, and we’ll always look to do our best to help get them looking happy and healthy again. You can always reach us in store, via email, telephone or messages through social media when the shop is closed.
Once again, we’re sorry for your disappointment on this occasion but thank you again for your support.
