Not worth the hassle!
Short version - wouldn't bother!
I looked all over trustpilot to find a reputable company, and settled on isubscribe - well, I think all of the 5 star reviews must be out of date because I've had a pretty bad experience!
- Subscribed to what looked to be a 3 month subscription, thinking I'll see whether I like it before committing to a longer term one.
- Within minutes, in the t's and c's, I see that isubscribe state that all direct debit orders have a minimum term of 12 months! Not what I wanted.
- They have a 48 hour no commitment cancellation period, so I cancel immediately via e-mail. (There is no way to cancel via the website, you have to e-mail).
- No response for 1 day, so I tried ringing (their number isn't on their website, just googled it, always "line busy")
- Finally get a reply e-mail to say "your order has been cancelled and you won't be charged".
- Two days later the publisher (isubscribe is just the middle man) tries to set up the direct debit anyway. Blocked!
- Worst of all, when you do get the info from the actual publisher, there is no 12 month minimum contract!! This was just something outdated on the rather clunky isubscribe website. There was no need to cancel!
I wish I could have just gone direct to the publisher (David Hall) who actually have a customer service helpline as they seemed much more responsive!

Thank you for your review and I am sorry for the poor experience you have had.
You emailed us to cancel your subscription on 3rd June and on 4th June this was actioned. The same day on 4th June we emailed David Hall publishing to advise them that you had indeed cancelled and we asked them not to set up your direct debit. I have emailed them again to provide feedback into why this was in the process of being set up.
We do not have a customer service line anymore (we are a very small team) but our response via email is very speedy, which is demonstrated by the reply you received the next day. We did have some tech issues a few days ago with our contact form but this was resolved.

Nothing received for nearly a month. Is that standard? Very upset little boy been waiting patiently for his 50 week subscription of beano. Easier to leave a review than get in touch as have to sign in and can’t remember password and automated password reset does not work. Have I been scammed… hope not!

Magazine subscriptions start with the next available new issue and the delivery timeframe for each magazine is stipulated when you order, in this case 4-6 weeks.
Your start date is 15th June issue, delivered around 12th June.

Subscriptions start with the next available new issue.
This is a magazine that is sent from overseas and therefore does have a little longer lead time than most magazines. The delivery timeframe for the first issue, as stipulated on the magazine's product page when you order, is 8-10 weeks. Your first issue is due this month around 27th June.

Thank you for your review. The magazine you subscribed to is published monthly. The order was placed late last week and this subscription will start with the May 2024 issue - it will be sent out tomorrow for you by 2nd class post.

Hello- the magazine you subscribed to is a digital magazine, not a physical magazine.
The instructions of how to access the digital subscription are in your confirmation email, however I have now refunded your order as requested.
It was simple enough to follow.

Your subscription for a monthly magazine was ordered 7 days ago, the May issue has already been posted and is on it's way, if it does not arrive this week please let us know.
Please note that magazine publishers do usually stipulate a lead time for the first issue, which is shared with customers when an order is placed. The first receipt in this case is well in advance of that lead time.

isubscribe do not make any outbound calls unless this is to return a customer call. We are a very small team and in no way a call centre- was your experience perhaps with another company?
I have checked the email address you have given me and you are not an isubscribe customer I do not believe. May I ask what the number is that keeps calling you? Then I can verify that it is not our local 0207 number.
