John Mason International Movers, especially Chris Turton (International Move Manager), has been excellent from start to end, which, when I write this, is the preparation and up to the point of all house items in the UK being packed, ready for shipment to our foreign destination. They are many positive things, but, to summarize, I would say; professional, thorough, helpful, competitively priced, reliable and diligent. Amidst all the stress involved in relocation abroad, not least sorting visa permits, I can assure any future customer that the part of physically moving all your house contents with John Mason IM is least stressful, testament to the quality of their experience and service.

Thank you for your response. While I acknowledge that Gill may have replied to emails within a four-hour timeframe, I must emphasize that timely responses are only part of effective service — the accuracy of the information is equally important. Unfortunately, on multiple occasions, the details provided by Gill were incorrect, and I had to seek clarification from either Michelle or Gill herself, who would later acknowledge the mistakes. This pattern started early on, when Michelle had to intervene to correct Gill’s inaccurate quote.
With regard to the final invoice, again the pricing prepared by Gill was incorrect, and I had to draw attention to the errors before it was rectified. This process added unnecessary frustration and diminished my confidence in the coordination and accuracy of your services.
On the issue of the sofa bed, I would like to clarify a few points. During the initial video survey, I was specifically asked how the sofa was originally brought into the property. I stated — and it was noted — that it had been brought in through the balcony, as I lived on the ground floor. The suggestion that this item was not shown or accounted for in the survey is simply not accurate. On the day of collection, I was told your crew couldn’t remove it as they “did not know how to take it apart.” Interestingly, upon arrival in Toronto, the Canadian movers had managed to dismantle and reassemble it without any difficulty — highlighting that this could have been resolved with the right expertise at your end.
Regarding the shipment timeline, my decanting commenced on April 4 and was completed on April 11. I was initially informed my goods would leave by April 30, then this changed to May 12, and finally May 28 — the actual departure date. These moving targets and lack of clear, consistent communication added significant stress during an already challenging time. I understand delays can happen due to shipping logistics, but what’s disappointing is the lack of transparency and proactive updates along the way.
I chose John Mason not because you were the cheapest, but because of your reputation and 140 years of experience — experience I trusted would ensure a smooth process. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect the high standards you reference. At every turn, I had to chase, question, or correct information, rather than feel supported during this important transition.
I appreciate your acknowledgment of the challenges and your apology, but I do hope you take this feedback seriously to ensure greater care, clarity, and accountability in future customer experiences.
